I've been playing modded Minecraft for quite a long time. It has come a long way since the days of ModLoader and deleting META.INF. But the one thing that has stayed pretty much stagnant for all this time is the controls GUI. Anyone who plays with a significant amount of mods will know that it's a pain in the butt to fix binding conflicts in the vanilla controls GUI.
I have developed Keyboard Wizard to remedy this problem. Keyboard wizard allows you to easily see and fix binding conflicts using a virtual representation of a standard QWERTY keyboard.
Keyboard Wizard can be opened by pressing F7 or by clicking the button added to the controls menu (configurable).
NOTE: Any mod that overrides the vanilla controls gui (such as Controlling) will cause problems if Keyboard Wizard is configured to add its own button to the controls gui. Disable this option in keywizard.cfg if you have a mod that does this.
Features & Screenshots
Keys that are bound to something will be green on the right. When there is a conflict, a key will turn red. Bindings that are not set to the default key will be green in the list.
To change a binding, select it in the list on the left, and then click a key on the right. The search bar at the bottom left can be used to find bindings by their display name.
The "Active Modifier:" button allows bindings to have a modifier such as control or alt (menu). When the button is pressed it will toggle though the available modifiers. Only bindings with the modifier shown on the button will be colored on the keyboard. If a binding is set when the active modifier is anything but NONE, the binding will be set to the key + the active modifier.
Press the button in the top left to show a dropdown list of categories.
this looks useful! but is there a chance you will add having to type words (like those real time spelling games) to attack?
Haha, maybe the name of the mod is slightly misleading. I have no intention of expanding its functionality beyond being a tool for fixing key conflicts. The mod is open source though, so if that's what you want it to do go right ahead and clone it

Are you ever going to add the numeric keypad and 'F' keys?
Thanks for the feedback! Function keys are on my radar, I will most likely add them when I am out of school and have more time to develop. I probably will not add a numpad due to the large amount of screen space that the gui already takes up.

Awesome, though would it be possible to shrink the key sizes down enough to fit it in? dropping the numpad would eliminate 15 keys sadly.
This is great. Can't wait for the Numpad to be added.
I have a suggestion. It would be helpful if there was a way of clearing a key bind for things that one rarely uses. Maybe adding a "None" button somewhere below the keyboard or something.

Alright, been testing. Love thenumpad!
Couple of suggestions, it does not seem to size properly( short of using the small gui under video settings) and most is cut off even on my widescreen monitor. The other suggestion is instead of spelling out numpad0-9 just use NP0-9 or just simply the number (since if anyone is using it, they should automatically tell it is for the numpad)

You're a saint.
This is a dream come true! Its missing the sometimes numberpad on the right hand side, but other than that love it
Honestly I just left it out because was really tired of draw keys after getting the main keyboard to work

Dynamically resizing the keys could be a viable solution. I may also add a second screen with extra keys.

Numpad is now added and fully functional. Although I may add a second screen for it in the future.
