Description:
Rubi's Rubies adds uncraftable Gems to the game, which can be used as currency, as well as various blocks to promote trading between players.
Each Gem has a specific value and can be combined or split up to create a Gem of another tier.
Players can use Vending Machines to buy/sell items or donate their Gems to other players on the server.
Features (So far):
- 8 Gems with different values (ranging from 1 to 1000)
- Gem Pouch: Portable storage for your Gems
- Vending Machine: A block for buying and selling items to other players
- Donation Chest: Used to donate Gems to other players
A chunk protection mod (chunk claiming mod) is required or else players might be able to steal from your Vending Machines with pipes or hoppers.
This mod can be used in any pack as long as the pack or the mod is not being sold.
Items:
Gem:
Can be used as currency. Each Gem has a specific value and can be combined or split up to create a Gem of another tier.
Example: To create a Gem with the value of 100 you can combine 2x50 Gems or 5x20 Gems together. You could even use 1x50 Gem + 1x20 Gem + 3x10 Gems.
Right-click (Vending Machine) = Buy the offered item
Gem Pouch:
Acts as a portable storage for your Gems. Has room for 27 Gem stacks. Picked up Gems will be moved into the Pouch automatically while you have the Pouch in your inventory (doesn't work if the GUI is active).
Right-click (Air) = Open the Pouch inventory
Right-click (Vending Machine) = Buy the offered item
Shift right-click = Count Gems in Pouch
Blocks:
Gem Block:
Building Block
Donation Chest:
A chest that can be used to donate Gems to other players. Rightclicking the chest with a Gem will donate one of the current selected Gem to the owner of the chest.
Stranger:
Right-click (Hand) = Display owner
Right-click (Gem) = Donate one Gem to the owner of the chest
Owner:
Right-click (Hand) = Display total amount of Gems in chest
Shift right-click (Hand) = Take all Gems out of the chest
Vending Machine:
A machine which sells items to other players. The machine needs an input and an output item as well as the amount.
Furthermore it is possible to set the payment method to "items", instead of "gems".
The owner of the machine has to fill it with stock (you can also use pipes).
The top of the machine displays the input, while the offer can be seen at the center.
There's also an creative-only version which doesn't require stock and can be used as a public Vending Machine to generate items or Gems.

Right-click (Hand) = Display offer

FAQ:
Q: Since Gems can not be crafted, how can you get them ?
A: Players spawn with a set amount which can be changed in the config. The only other way to generate more Gems is by spawning them as an admin or to set up Creative Vending Machines in "item mode" so players can exchange items for Gems. They buy Gems with items, so to say.
Q: Can I refill Vending Machines automatically ?
A: Yes, you can use any hopper or pipe to refill the stock and can also extract the payment out of the machine. But be carful! - You will need some kind of chunk claim/protection mod to prevent players from stealing your payment with pipes.
What happends when a player dies? are the credits stored in a savefile? I mean that if a player dies with lets say all of his currency, he would lose it all. That isn't very good...
You could try to make the item undestoryable, because if players die a lot with currency in their inventory the amount of currency on the server goes down. But only up when new players join/admins to cheat them in. That is not the way a currency should work right?
You might want to rethink this part. But as far as I have seen that was the only flaw. (And the hopper thing you can just disable that, or only take input and never output).

Seems like an awesome currency mod.
