Note: In recipes using dye, you can either use the ones from vanilla Minecraft or dyes from other mods.
Decorations
Christmas Lights
Christmas Light Bulbs
Shaped crafting recipe, requiring 1 Glowstone Dust, 1 Iron Ingot, and 3 Stained Glass Panes (white, red, yellow, lime, blue, or purple). Yields 4 Christmas Light Bulbs.
Christmas Lights
Can be hung on most solid blocks, glass blocks & panes, iron bars, stairs, top half slabs, and fence.
Shapeless crafting recipe, with all variants requiring 3 String and an assortment of Christmas Light Bulbs. Most recipes yield 3 Christmas Lights.
Christmas Trees
Christmas Tree
Christmas lights and Christmas tree stars can be put a Christmas tree by right-clicking with them in hand. They can then be taken off by right-clicking the tree with an empty hand.
Shaped crafting recipe, 4 Paper, and 4 White Dye. Yields 1 White Present.
Wreaths
Wreath
Can be placed on most solid blocks, top half slabs, and stairs. Can also be hung on any vanilla door by shift+right-clicking on the door. It can then be retrieved by breaking the door.

Wild mistletoe can be found growing on trees in most biomes, excluding hot biomes like savannas and humid biomes like jungles. When a mature wild mistletoe plant is harvested, it will yield 1 Wild Mistletoe item, as well as a random amount of Mistletoe Berries. If the plant isn't fully grown, it will only drop 1 Mistletoe Berries. You can tell if the plant is fully grown by seeing whether or not it has berries. The plant grows naturally when exposed to enough light, and can be grown manually by using bone meal on it.
Mistletoe Berries
Can be planted on the bottom of leaves or horizontal logs. Edible, but poisonous.
Wild Mistletoe
Only used as a crafting component for Decorative Mistletoe.
Decorative Mistletoe

Available for Minecraft 1.16.4, 1.12.2, 1.11.2, and 1.10.2:
This mod requires Minecraft Forge, remember to set that up first!
If you encounter any problems with the mod, or have any ideas or suggestions, notify me by commenting on this thread. I'll then either respond back here or PM you if I require further information.
You may include this mod in a mod pack, as long as you are not making money off of it. Just notify me via PM if you do use it.
The songs used for the records and for the trailer are by Kevin MacLeod at http://incompetech.com/.
Special thanks to Kentiya for making a few textures, and to him and AtomFox0213 for helping to produce the trailer!
In the latest version, the mod prevents standard and trapped chests from using the present textures. Only the actual presents that the mod adds will look like presents.
The only thing I'd like to see is the stockings become filled stockings when you sleep, which when right clicked drop a present and revert to the current stockings again. Also, I'd alter the present textures and models to be more like paper-wrapped boxes, and require paper and string around an item w/o the chest. That's all, besides needing a milk bottle and a cookie (vanilla, gingerbread man, sugar cookie, etc.) to get the presents.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
Hey guys, I've just released a version compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2!
I'll be doing a small update to all three versions by the end of the week, adding various new features. You'll be able to store items in stockings, place mugs on blocks, and a few other small things.
Also, I'd like to mention that I really appreciate all of your support and suggestions! So even if some ideas get skipped this year, they might still make it into the 2018 update!
Anyway, I'll go get to work on implementing the new features!
Hey guys, I finally got the update out! I know it's already Christmas night, but oh well, it's done now. So go ahead and download the update and let me know what you think of the new features! I've also updated the feature guide to include the new Presents and Peppermint Logs.
Changelog for v1.2:
Stockings now have any inventory with 5 slots
Wreaths can now be placed on: BlockGlass, BlockStainedGlass, BlockPane, BlockFence, BlockWall
Stockings can now be placed on: BlockFence, BlockWall
Christmas Lights can now be placed on: BlockWall
Removed Packed Ice recipe
Renamed Presents to Present Chests in-game
Added Presents that act somewhat like skulls and have an inventory with 5 slots
Added Peppermint Logs for building giant candy canes
Fixed a door duplication bug in doors with wreaths
Added a chat notification for when an update is available
Tweaked textures for Present Chests
Anyway, I hope all of you have had a great Christmas this year!
Love the current features. If you ever decide to add a Santa visit event, I'd suggest looking through Christmascraft code for their version to get ideas on how to do it. It shouldn't be too hard, a method to determine the system date, and one that activates when the player sleeps. The second one fills nearby stockings and presents with random stuff on a 50% chance (basically 50% of getting nothing, 50% chance of filled stockings and presents). Another, later, suggestion would be a reputation system, with killing villagers and pigmen (because they're neutral, they did nothing to you) putting you closer to being on the naughty list (only thing on naughty list loot table are coal and charcoal), where killing hostile mobs, taming wolves and trading with villagers gets you to the nice list (random items in the nice list loot table include, but not limited to: diamond, iron ingot, gold ingot, coal block, any tool, any sword, bow. Mod ingots and various mod bits and bobs could be included and drop if the mod is installed, would be a light(optional) dependency).

Sorry if this is a really dumb question. New to minecraft mods.
I wanted to run this on the server side, so I downloaded the jar, put it in the mods dir in a fresh, ungenerated world, then started my server (which has forge).
When I connect to the server from my 1.12.2 client, which also has the jar in the .minecraft/mods folder, and has the mod loaded, I get a regular world loaded. No snow etc. I can see the extra icons such as eggnog, and I see the jar loaded in the log files, but how do I get from here to a winter wonderland?

Hey, glad the mod appears to be working properly! The mod itself doesn't actually do any modifications to the way worlds are generated, other than to spawn wild mistletoe on the occasional tree.
To get a proper winter wonderland kind of world, you'll either need to find a good seed that spawns you in an area with the snowy biomes (people sometimes post seeds online), or by using the "customized" world generation, where you can set what biome you want for the whole world. Something like "Cold Taiga" or "Cold Taiga Hills" could work (maybe "Ice Plains", but might not have many trees).
There may also be some mods out there that could help, but a lot of mods don't seem to get updated to the latest versions of Minecraft.

Yeah, might look into adding something along those lines; I'd at least want to make them able to store a few items. I probably won't be able to add any new features this year though, just simply too busy with work and such. But I'll be keeping an eye out for the Forge 1.13 release, and updating my mod if it comes out any time soon.
Please update the Joshua's Christmas Mod. I wanted to play it this year with my friends and would appreciate it if it was usable on 1.16.4.
Thanks and great work btw.
Thanks! I'm actually just wrapping up some of the last stuff for the 1.16.4 version right now, and I'm aiming to have it out by tonight if all goes well! Been working on it a ton over the past couple of weeks, and just about done.
Looking forward to getting it out so you guys can enjoy it!

I am here to say that raw ginger roots are, in fact, quite edible. Coming from real life experience =P
It's also good for you.
