Hi, is the computer port working? I'm using the Hermitpack which seems to only have OpenComputers and it looks like Big Reactors used ComputerCraft; Is/will the computer port be compatible with ComputerCraft? Does anyone have a how-to for controlling Extreme Reactors with either of those mods? Or can I use information from Big Reactors without issue?
Basically all I want to do is insert the control rod the same percentage as energy stored. Used to do this extremely easily with rednet in Big Reactors.
Thanks.
[UPDATE]
So I went ahead and started messing around with it. I have to admit it was more fun poking at it instead of following some instructions.
So, OpenComputers does work with the computer port. I just made a simple program that outputs the %energy stored and sets the control rod levels to that number until you press q. If you want to mess around with it yourself, here are the pages that helped guide me:
Cool, thanks. But if I could make one request; could you get make a method (or tell me about it if it wasn't in the list I found) that returns the percentage energy stored instead of the actual number. Right now I'm dividing the GetEnergyStored by 10000000, but using "magic numbers" in code makes me sad. Is that all any reactor could ever store? Did a miss a method to get the maximum capacity of a reactor?
in 1.7.10 I used open computers with the EnderIO capacitor banks, they have a return atribute of %full (don't remember what it was, it's been a while), maybe this is still true. Now on hermitpack I'm using the rf monitors from RFTools, they can output redstone signal on % full of anything that has a rf stotage in a 3x3 area around them. Hope this helps
Folks, I'm curious. Big Reactors had a notorious problem where water and steam had a 1:1 ratio. If your reactor consumes 1 water, you get 1 steam out.
This was a major problem for essentially every other steam-related mod in existence that treated water:steam realistically (closer to 1:120 or something iirc).
Have any considerations been made to address this?
Apologies if its buried in a spoiler or something. I reviewed the OP closely. I did not pursue any other related threads.
What do you mean by removing steam "in its actual form"? Do you mean just stop using the current steam liquid and switching to a new one?
What are the major benefits for the Extreme Reactors team to use their own steam liquid?
The big benefit of using the "standard" steam liquid is that its very cross-mod friendly. Every mod that interacts with "steam" has some sort of interface for it. Even ReactorCraft (Reika) has special gizmos to work with standard steam (in addition to a quasi-annoying internal steam system like you're proposing). Its actually a neat way to bridge between various mods.
If you do decide it would be handy to have a new steam fluid, perhaps you can consider adding a gizmo to translate ER-steam to Standard steam?
Also, correction: the "standard" ratio (started with Railcraft and followed by others such as IC2) is 160(steam):1(water).
I'm adding your ZeroCore and Extreme Reactors mods to my private pack, for use on my whitelisted server, where a few friends and I will enjoy playing with them. Thanks!
Sorry guys for the delay in replaying. Busy times!
@WhirlWind07: thank you! have fun!
@A112_: thank you! hope you have fun with the mod
@Okula: I put a pool out on twitter some time ago and the IC2 idea was shoot down
@divinerabit: thank you and have fun!
@quinttt: nop, it will be crafted in a new machine we are working on
@welsknigh: nice! have fun
@PureTechnicality: ER was born for our private pack so I'm glad other people use it and take time to build their own pack
@alexs01: thank you for the notify have fun with the mods
@danny_djdk: thank you and have fun! let's us know the URL of your channel / stream
For the steam thing, we have not decided yet which way we will follow. We like to add a bit of radiations to the steam in a way that it will not be cleaned up by other mods.

Note that the BR_Control.lua link is a complete program, but it wasn't what I wanted.
I am adding this mod to my 1.10.2 modpack on FTB.

Get my 1.10.2 modpack :D, Quae Machinis (Machines and Things)
Have a nice day!
@JairBear: yup, OpenComputers is supported by Reactors and Turbines computer ports

@JairBear: I'll add a method to retrieve the energy capacity of reactors and turbines in the next release
Cool, thanks!
Okay, just tired. Think I figured out the issue I was writing about.

What we are currently thinking is to remove steam in it's actual form (it will be replaced with a new fluid)
What do you guys think about this issue?

For my own amusement, I'll use as a reference BigReactor's issues list: https://github.com/erogenousbeef/BigReactors/issues/267
Where Erogenous added it as a milestone too

Zero,
Just wanted to notify you that I plan on using Extreme Reactors and ZeroCore in my modpack CoupleCraft 2.
Thanks!

I am adding this to another soon to be public modpack. This pack, along with your mod, will be played in my let's plays.

I have a question Is there a page with all available coolants and which ones are the best?
