This mod aims to fill a few gaps in vanilla Minecraft by adding corn, integrated in a way that makes gameplay smooth and unchanged from the vanilla style.
I'm not much for writing but stay with me!
I'll keep it short and simple.

Features:
Corn kernels can be obtained from breaking grass at a slightly lower chance than seeds.
Corn crops are 3 blocks tall, (comparable height to real life) and the growth stages are below:
Ears of corn can be crafted into more kernels or cooked to produce a food meant to be comparable to a vegetarian counterpart to steak.
Chowders add another use to milk that I feel is lacking in Minecraft:
Corn fields also generate in villages and kernels are valid chicken tempting items!
Note: mod is presented in 32x because those were the textures I originally created, the V2.0+ are in 16x HERE
NEW! V1.3+ Craft a firework with kernels and it explodes into popcorn! Just for fun.
warning: if you craft it with any dies or effects, they will be lost. Does not use ASM!
Also in V1.3+ corn is valid for Immersive engineering ethanol and makes 120mb
And that's basically it, I hope you enjoy!

Technical/special details
•Corn adds a new plant type, denseCrop, which has 3x3 rows of quads instead of 2x2.
•Fully grown corn slows down the player by 65%, try making a corn maze!
•Crops check twice when harvested (once per top two blocks) and have a 60% chance of dropping 2 ears OR a 90% of dropping 1. This means a small chance of getting nothing with a maximum yield of 4.
•Corn can technically be grown wiwh bone meal but It will take a large amount (10-20)
•Corn doesn't have any +- system for growth like wheat does. Place anyway you like.
•Chicken chowder can also be crafted with a bowl of corn chowder and a cooked chicken.
•Corn fields have a generation weight of 30
Thank you. No plans for 1.7.10 at the moment, we need to move past 1.7. Definitely for 1.9 within a day or two and 1.10 farther off when mods have caught up and there's a more stable release. What version are you looking for?

That loom thing is a very fascinating idea. It'd be amazing to make your own custom clothing, flags, or carpets. I've never seen anything like it yet. As for 1.7 updates well most mods are for 1.7.10. The thing about modding is that one could be knowledgeable in the art of modding 1.7.10, but modding 1.8+ means that one has to re-learn again how to mod for that specific update. That is stopping a lot of mods from going from 1.7 to 1.8+.
To tell you the truth I've made peace with it. I think 1.7.10 will be around for a looooong time unlike it's counterparts 1.8 and 1.9, which barely have any mods developed for them, and we are already up to 1.10. Going from 1.6 to 1.7 will never be like going from 1.7 to 1.8+. It also depends on the complexity of the mod of course... or so they say. I'm not a modder personally. That's just what I've heard from real modders.
Whatever the case I'd be nice if most updated to 1.9 at least. Oh and I was interested on a 1.7.10 version.
Added support for 1.8.9, 1.9.4, and 1.10! I'll mess around with 1.7.10, because I know a lot of people are still on it and quite simply I'll get more people using it I hope.
This mod looks great and all, and would defiantly be using it if it was for 1.7.10. All my mods I have installed are for 1.7.10 and Im not willing to drop all them just for this mod. That is why. Would love to see this for 1.7.10.
I found a bug, please don't fix it - I am having fun trying to grow the tallest corn plant in Skyfactory 3 - but when I harvest the top it grows a new plant. it reminds me of the days when I worked at a hybrid corn growing (pioneer Seeds) and they had corn plants about 10 - 12 feet tall. Right click hte top, and it harvests the ear then plants a new one on top.

I have this mod to my rpg pack for 1.8.9 with BoP.
No conflicts and i love this mod!

This is an issue with the auto harvesting mod assuming the crop is one block tall
