This is quite possibly the most underrated mod in the history of Minecraft mods. Definitely one of my favorites, always in my modpacks-- I just love this mod <3 Chasing tumbleweeds is more fun than it should be lol-- now I'm trying to get my brain around farming them XD
Seriously, though-- if you're playing modded, you need this mod.
Have two odd ideas. The first is being able to right click and pick up a tumbleweed. Right click again to let it go tumbling away in the direction you are facing. And the tumbleweeds are entities, right? What about naming with nametags? It's so if we wanted to we could gather a bunch and name them so they don't despawn.
Looking at that drop table, it's pretty generous. As described, 1/33 chance per tumbleweed for each of diamond, emerald, gold ingot or iron ingot. (Also, these things are carrying around metal ingots and saddles?) The farm you show would be a real treasure factory. And the rarity of dead bushes isn't something you can count on.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Such a cute little mod! I really like the idea above please do that!^ Honestly, make it default that the tumbleweeds spawn in BoP's Wasteland as it fits right in!
I'd also like a config option for spawning biomes - I'm working on a modpack for 1.12 using the ezWastelands mod to retexture the world into a barren dessert. but tumbleweeds will only spawn in biomes that are registered as desserts -- and I'd love to have some wiggle room there.
Any way to specify quantity of drops? I see weight and item name, but can I add some other bit of info in there to drop more than 1 of a given item? I feel like a tumbleweed could drop a couple sticks, along with maybe a piece of wheat, all at once. Even if I can't configure it to drop more than 1 type of item, I'd still like to configure it to drop more than 1 of any given type.

Information
Tumbleweeds spawn around dead bushes in hot, dry biomes. They drop random goodies upon harvesting. Item drops are customizable through config file.
