Just downloaded this mod a little bit ago, and this mod is nothing short of genious. The possiblities are endless and with just one chisel and a few sidekicks. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this mod with us.
I've just made a really nice armchair using different types of blocks, and I can't figure out how to save that chair. I know if it's just one solid block you use the Mirror Chisel Design then copy it to the Positive/Negative chisel design.
I've tried using that method but it only copies sections of that chair, not the whole chair.
I'd appreciate any help please, thanks
Can't anyone make a suggestion please? The chair is made up of various bits and pieces, and when I try to use the positive chisel design, it just copies a certain section. I tried to do that by using the positive chisel design on each separate section but then trying to duplicate the chair using those pieces was a really big pain, and it wasn't successful.
I'm getting quite frustrated.
I don't need step by step, just a basic idea. The chair is bigger than one block

At the moment copying a structure that is more than one block big is annoying. The only way to do it is one piece at a time. In a future update blueprints will fix this problem.
pleease release this for 1.8 as most of my mods dont work with 1.8.9 yet

yandere-poo once took senpai-poo to her house and strapped him in a toilet and ate lots of yee together and their farts stank up the entire floor walker along with advice bots corroded yee batteries and floor walkers corroded arms. Super yee is a form of yee that stinks yandere-poo and corrodes the yee.
The tape measurer texture could use some work. I don't mean that in a rude way. Also, is it intentional that when you use a chisel on a block it starts making stone sounds?
I would love to see the functionality of adding bits to blank shields to make them custom, this could also work for armor, but i'm sure that would be harder because you could render the shield so it only works flat. This functionality seems like it would be quite an undertaking but I'm sure plenty of people would love it!
Would you please update 'Extra Bit Manipulation' to v1.10.2, or best yet, combine it into an all inclusive mod with Chisels & Bits?
Extra Bit Manipulation adds infinitely more creative possibilities to the package … I Iove Chisels & Bits, but have quit using it alone. It isn't nearly as good without it.

The ways sounds work in general in minecraft is very limited, Rather then try and patch things to enhance customization around sounds I simply made them all sound the same.

I currently don't have any plans for doing things other then blocks, like armor or equipment. I'm sure they would be fun, there was a mod previously like that.

I have a lot of other things on my plate at the moment and not a lot of time, I'm struggling to even find time to work on C&B it self, let alone another mod / add-on.
I also don't plan on merging it with C&B, its tools are neat, and helpful, but they also work quite a bit different than C&B itself. Which is fine, but it means it makes sense that it would stay an add-on.
I don't know weather Phylogeny plans on updating or not, and haven't heard from them in some time.

I just checked his curse and i see that he has updated his mod to 1.9.4, BUT its in beta... the one below 1.9.4 is a release (not beta).

I didnt even know Extra Bit Manipulation existed til now... holy crap, that's awesome.
Mojang seriously needs to hire you and greg from gregs blocks. y'all need to work for minecraft... not "real" jobs.
I would like you to improve the system. so the system is where you place a vertical slab depends on where you are facing.. whether its south or west.. the vertical slab would be placed on the right side of the block..
i hope you know what i am talking about. i disliked that system.. but there is a better system.. where you can use your eyes.. as you are looking at the one block (top of the block) so you can place the vertical slab anywhere without change your heading. There would be 4 part on the top of the block or side of the block... I dont know how to describe this in a better way.. i hope you know what i am talking about.

I assume your asking for a placement system similar to microparts.
The system in use right now is modeled after vanilla's sided blocks where the rotation is provided by your heading, this fits well with most block designs, and in generally functions well for placing a lot of chiseled blocks quickly since as your as your facing the same direction.
If it was based on "exactly where" your pointing you would have to be considerately more careful each time you tried to place something, because if your were looking at the left edge and placed it it would rotate, the right edge? the center? how do you place it backwards?
Also i'm not sure how a micropart type placement system would work for "arbitrary blocks" so that would probobly require seperating blocks into two categories "slabs/nooks/pillars/edges/covers/" and such things, and then "Everything else." However chiseled blocks are just blocks, and having two systems of placement for how 99% of chiseled blocks work, and having one for 1% of them seems a little confusing. in addition patterns use the same placement scheme so they are consistent.
You can also rotate the blocks around using shift + mouse wheel, and there is also a key-bind for cw/ccw rotation.

oh ok.. i will try the rotation thing (shift + mouse wheel) ok got it. I will check... brb....
Hi, I know it's in the FAQ but I'm too dumb to find it and didn't know where to look: I don't want the bits to drop when I chisel something. There are so many of them and it produces lag for me. Could someone tell me where I can find the option to turn it off?
Items -> enableChisledBits case ben used to disable bits so you can only chisel, I don't think this is a well tested option so if you have any issues with it report them to the tracker.
Other wise you can carry bags to hold your excess bits instead.
Glad your having fun with it

Chisels and bits is available for 1.8, however its a older version.See here.

Is it possible to use barrier blocks as bits?

Indestructible blocks such as barriers or bedrock cannot be chiseled.
