Hard to say, I'm not really against it in anyway, I imagine that the only hangup would be in crafting since TFC generally overhauls that quite a bit, beyond that I can't see them causing any particular issues with one another. I can't really comment on it more than that at this time however.
Oh
hey. Since I just noticed this thread, I figured I might as well share
something I've been working on: Furniture. Like, really detailed
furniture. http://imgur.com/a/b4cai
Blocks used are Greatwood
Planks, Green Wool, Brass Blocks, and Ancient Rock. Not sure how much I
like the Ancient Rock as a surface texture, but it does make great
stairs (which I intentionally didn't screenshot, since they're not
finished).
Also, small bug, when I tried to "round out" the
corners of the green wool, and fill in the holes I made with greatwood
bits, the prop snapped back to square edges when I added something new.
Not sure if I'm explaining that entirely well. I was using the Drawn
Region setting, and did in fact try it using just my creative bit and
the chisel in survival.
Pretty nice, I like the detailing in the back and arms of the chairs especially.
So your bug is the same as the one about the wool that was reported previously? Which version of the mod are you using?

Using 1.8.6, will update and get back to you!
Edit: 1.8.7 did not entirely fix the issue. While I was able to edit the wool bits, it was only because I broke and placed them using the Single Bit option.
I was just browsing through the mod list on FTB Unstable, this mod looks so amazing! I've never been a creative type but this has me excited to try out different ideas.
It kinda sucks that grass blocks can't be chiseled. Makes it much harder to make my room, as I'll have ugly grass edges around the wood tiling in my room.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
AlgorithmX2: Could you please consider adding a way for the various structure generators (ie, Ruins, Restructured, Schematica, etc) to use blocks that are created in C+B? ie, allow us to 'name' a saved design and have that block appear as chiselandbits:<name>? Thanks.

That would require adding Block ID's that represent designs.. I'm not sure that makes sense.... That said, I'm not entirely sure what would be needed for them to support C&B, If they are interested I would certainly be will to work with them to find a solution...
That said I'm not very familiar with the mods in question, do you build designs in world? and save them out? or do you make your designs in text files or config files?
If there exists a middle ground where I can provide an access to make a cross world serialization of the design, so they can save and re-create it.. then I would be certainly willing to provide that... While defining specific designs as block ids would be potentially possible it would be incredibly wasteful, and would result in adding blocks/removing blocks based on the config files, which is generally bad form.

All three of the mods I mentioned have a method of creating the structure in game and then saving it. The Ruins format is a plain text file with the blocks specified by <mod>:<id>. Restructured and Schematica both save to the 'standard' .schematic format (nbt based) used in mcedit/worldedit/etc though Schematica seems to add a dictionary to map the <mod>:<id> into the numeric ids required by the format. I'm not sure how that works for Restructured though since it doesnt appear to save a dictionary in the schematics I looked at.

What about a single block with nbt that when placed in world uses the data to load and set the correct design? From my understanding of their save formats it would work automatically with them (and any other similar mod) to allow for C+B designs. It would need greater support on the C+B side though to preconvert designs into that block before saving the structure.

Seems to me that only thing that won't work by default is that C&B by default uses a "in world" storage format, which means that the data is world specific, and cannot be re-loaded on a second world.
However its possible for C&B to generate cross world NBT data on request.. ( at least post C&B 1.9 ) which can be place in the world as the block NBT Data, the only missing piece to that puzzle is that mods that want to save that C&B data would have to request it, rather then the "in world" format, I don't use it the cross world version by default cause it increases the storage requirements by a large margin.
This would of course require the other mod authors to put in some extra effort, however I would be willing to work with them if they would like to support it.
if so then what about sculptures work like what they're principally made of
(say something like a sculpture made mostly of crafting table bits could be used as a crafting table)
then i could finally make functional 3d furnances and such
of course this is just a suggestion
Sorry this probably won't happen, a crafting table would be possible.. but almost nothing else of any significance would be possible, which of course includes things which are not chiseable ( like furnaces. )
It just seems silly to special case crafting tables here when nothing else would work.

i also experienced the wool bug
for some reason all wools refuse to be deleted and just snap back in if you try to alter something after deleting that bit
so far it only seems to happen to wool
Are you using the latest build of the mod? ( 1.8.7 )
yup also thaumcraft's crimson armor displays with the iron texture when using the chisel and bits mod
(i only have this optifine and thaumcraft)

Don't click this link, HE is haunting it...
This will be changing in C&B 1.9, along with most other materials, most things will be chisel-able, like dirt and sand.
Yeah, let's just hope the mods I'm using don't die before 1.9 of Minecraft comes out.

I don't mean MC 1.9, I mean C&B 1.9 ( which will be for mc 1.8.9 )

alright then, thanks for the quick answer
the mod is still amazing none the less good work and good luck
