A minecraft mod focused on the building aspect of the game. It adds all the missing block types of vanilla materials, for instance a smooth stone stair, smooth stone slab, and many more. It also adds new block types like the vertical slab, the step and the corner. Finally, it adds items to make building more easy and less tedious.
Features:
Materials
The mod works by grouping blocks into materials, for instance "smooth stone" or "stone bricks", and then generating all the missing blocks for the material.
New Block Types
The mod adds a couple of new block types. The first one is the vertical slab, a vertical variant of the slab:
Another block added is the "Step", which is half of a slab:
The other block added is the "Corner", which is half of a step:
Trowel
The trowel is an item that can be binded to any material. Once binded it allows you to place blocks of the binded material consuming any available block of the material in the player's inventory.

Material Bag
The material bag is an item that can store several stacks of blocks of only one material. The trowel can directly use the material contained inside of material bags.
Portable Ladder
The portable ladder is a 3 blocks high ladder which can be easily placed and picked up.
If you put two vertical slabs next to each other at right-angles you can see through one of them. It would be nice if they made a corner like stairs do.
EDIT: Also, it would be nice if vertical slab orientation was determined by the direction that you're facing, instead of the section of the block you click.

Noted, I'll fix the vertical slab issue for the next version. And regarding the edit, that would be a "vertical" stair (i.e. a stair block rotated), which I eventually want to implement.
It doesn't seem like the new dirt blocks will grow grass on them naturally.
Also, can you texture the grass stairs so that the grass overhangs are on both the top and bottom steps? It would really make multiple layers of grass stairs look better. The Extended Grass texturepack isn't really a solution because it isn't compatible with other resource packs such as Dokucraft.
Unfortunately extending dinamically the grass texture depending on the texture pack is not an easy task. It might be doable, but I'll have to investigate it.
I have an odd issue, whenever a grass slab is destroyed by an explosion, a NullPointerException is thrown in the GetDrops method and Minecraft crashes.

I have an idea, what about carpets on stairs? like when you place a carpet on the stairs, it forms to the shape of the stairs. I know the wool stairs are in this mod and looks kind of like the carpets, but they don't really pop out...

The dirt blocks converting into grass blocks is a feature I've yet to implement: https://github.com/hea3ven/BuildingBricks/issues/12

This mod looks awesome! I actually was wondering why I haven't seen any mods like this. It's exactly what I want.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to install it yet because of the glitches people are mentioning. I will bookmark this for later on though.

Great mod. But when you place the stairs on top of each other facing the same direction, the bottom of the stairs is invisible.

Found this other bug. If you place stairs facing down towards the ground on top of each other, you will get the invisible bug like the other one.

I love this mod
I have an idea, what about carpets on stairs? like when you place a carpet on the stairs, it forms to the shape of the stairs. I know the wool stairs are in this mod and looks kind of like the carpets, but they don't really pop out...
I don't think that would fit with the design of this mod.
