Install SimplyJetpacks and fly at top speed (with the creative jetpack) and see what happens... definitely when it needs to create a extreme hills with gravel beach layer
Anyway i test this mod with a lot more mods (like half ftb infinity) including journeymap, optifine and shader mod so its all good
Well, I've never used that before, buuuuut... The modpack I'm using has Draconic Evolution which the highest tier armor makes you fly at super sonic speed, so I might understand that. (Even then, no crashes?)
EDIT: I also might want to mention that my system is quite old and definitely not that great too.

I.. You.. You think that's not good? .o.
Intel E2200 (x86), 3GB of RAM, integrated graphics. No, that's not a laptop. My phone is literally more powerful and advanced than my computer. Unless you're playing a FPS you don't need a super rig, I'd kill to have your specs. I could do so much with that card, I do 3d modeling and I have to buy cycles from amazon to render images in a reasonable amount of time. The only reason minecraft runs at a decent 15-22 fps is because I'm using linux which has better OpenGL support. I'm honestly curious, what limitations do you feel with your current rig? It's off topic so please PM me.
On topic: RWG was awesome for me, but the lack of TC4 magical forests really killed it for me and I had to switch to Biomes O' Plenty. I look forward to being able to use all of my mod biomes with your terrain generation, I'll be watching this thread eagerly in coming months. At what point will you begin the transition to 1.8? I'm not all that worried about it since I've never used 1.8, but I'm curious how much work you're facing with the changes that have occured. I hope nobody bugs you about updating it, it's gotta be annoying to constantly repeat "WIP, it'll be done when it's done."
Thanks for the crash report. In addition, would you also be able to tell me what biome you were in before the crash? And also, were you able to log back into your game without crashing?
Here's a couple screenies of the crash location after logging back in:
Not sure how helpful that is, but it happened with the church loading error that happens in 1.7.10. This didn't happen right away, just after flying around a bit.
Also, I wanted to ask if you plan on adding ore generation in these gigantic mountains, as of right now, they are nothing but stone. Ted's version had this issue as well.
show that the world generated is a "large lakes" world with a massive single continent.
I want to request a "Continental" map, with a connected ocean. (Continents don't have to be as large as the 1.6.x or 1.7.x maps). I'm someone that enjoys being able to "finish" a section of map, or go on long boat trips.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

I would love a Continental type of generation/map.
But one odd thing I've noticed with these maps is the snow biomes. They look like the Creator took a spray can and just held the button down for like five seconds. Quite an interesting generation!
Nah i use admintools to pregenerate 150 chunk at all sides from spawn, so thats 150 x 150 x 4 = 90k chunks takes about 20 min to generate
AFAIK that's only a bukkit plugin. Singleplayer alternative? It's taking a while to test biome weights, right now I have Thaumcraft Taint set way too high but I can't figure out how much Magical Forest is actually generating. I'm actually running BoP rather than RTG atm but I'll be switching over once BoP is supported. It's taking forever to do manually and I have to start over every time I adjust the weights. I don't have a lot of time to play minecraft during the week because of work so I've pretty much just been testing this for a few hours a day for the last couple days since it's the weekend.
Edit: I do still test RTG but BoP is what I run for my personal stuff. RTG is Alpha so I don't run it on my main.
So im wondering, my server currently is using RWG. If i swap out to RTG, will it convert the old biome names of rwg into the new ones making the world loadable with rtg instead of rwg. There is a world border, and it is already fully generated. So i would not care if the generation is different. I just would hope to be able to use the world i had, and sideload a new world for new generation.
If its not possible, that's okay.
I'm going to try it out on a backup for fun when i get home from work. Lol im expecting it to not work..
I'd love to be able to use it myself, but when I tried it on my laptop, it took over 2 hours to generate a small section of the world.
So having played with worldgen and pregen before, I've learned something that may be of help.
1. Use a dedicated server, not a client/single player.
2. If you need to log in first to run the generate command (because it fails from the console), you can log in, give the command, and then quit the client.
3. Use the throughput garbage collector, not the CMS collector. Only place I've found so far where the throughput works better (so, so much better!).
To clarify #3: The pre-gen utility I was using did not unload any chunks during pregen. So memory was full by the time the world was pre-gen'd.
The throughput collector could still work just fine in an almost full memory condition.
The CMS collector was a total disaster after about 80-90% full.
The memory needs/usage of the client are significantly different from the server. Trying to get single player to work well, especially when memory is nearly full, is a real PITA (that's "Pain is the assignment", if I don't spell out these acronyms I risk more moderation points.)

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?

Hello, I know that support for major biome adding mods is being added, but what about Terrafirmacraft? TFC is a great mod, but it is lacking in world generation. I know that TFC changes many things, and that adding support for it would be extremely difficult, but it would be greatly appreciated.
Archibald, I encountered the same aliased effect on cold biomes, but didn't bother to post about it, so thanks for actually being helpful.
I would also like to chime in with agreement to what Kev said. I would really love to see TFC compatibility, but I think that might be one of the most difficult mod compatibilities due to the sheer amount of things that TFC changes.
Finally, I would also love to see the Streams mod working with RTG. Although it already might, as I haven't checked yet.

How did I not know TFC existed?!?! I've NEVER heard of this mod and it looks so cool! And I consider myself an avid Modded Minecraft player!
Thanks for helping to test the mod. If you've still got that world saved, could you possibly go into ConfigRTG.cfg and set "Enable Debugging"=true and try to get it to crash again? After it's crashed, zip up your 'fml-client-latest.log' and post it on Dropbox or FileDropper or similar, and send me the link if possible. Be sure to set EnableDebugging back to false when you've done it or else it will probably really lag your game and eat up HD space if you leave it enabled for too long. Thanks again for your help - I thought the crash issue was resolved in 0.0.6 as we couldn't repeat it.
Re: TFC... I really want RTG to be compatible with as many mods as possible, so if it's possible, I'll try to make it happen.
Re: Streams... since RWG was compatible with Streams, I would imagine that RTG should be compatible with Streams as well. Please let me know if they're not playing nicely together and I'll look into it. Streams is one of my favourite mods, so I'll do whatever I can to make RTG compatible with it.
I knew about Streams but this gives me an amazing idea (someone's done it) with shaders + RTG/RWG enabled.
But on a side note, I've been meaning to ask this.. How did you personally get into Java? I know you said you're still learning, but I actually DO want to learn Java and mod Minecraft myself. (So many cool ideas in my head, yadda yadda.) I know it won't happen overnight, but I wanna know where I can focus my attention. I'd love to be able to help you too.
Thank you for considering to add TFC support! As for streams, the author is working on a new version of the mod that should fix it carving canyons, but other than that, they should work fine at this time.
And don't feel bad about not knowing what TFC is, I make a modpack for it, and have received that question many times
Not sure what would happen, so if you're going to try it, just make sure to back up your world.
So I launched a world With RWG 1.3.2 and ran around generating the terrain, then closed, removed RWG and put in RTG 0.0.6
Loaded up the world, no message, no crash or error in the logs. Everything that was generated, and biome names seemed(not 100% sure) to be transferred over to RTG, but anything new generated seemed to be vanilla and not rtg. So if you have a map with RWG, fully generated and want to transfer to RTG, I believe that it wont cause any problems. unless you regenerate an area, or still have areas uncovered. (worldborder) This is good to know, I will definitely try it later in the future when RTG is more developed and ready for my pack! Hopefully I will just be able to side load a new map and players will slowly have a deadline to move over to the new world.
I also have found out that I can join my server that is running RWG 1.3.2 with RTG... thats interesting..
I loved the original RWG, and thank you for working on this. That being said i like parts of your new version, but i was a bit let down by parts of the world gen to be honest. I liked the original way the terrain was generated with all the different biomes. The way the biomes generate look sort of messy in my opinion. And one of my favorite features of the original one was the way that the rivers would be so green my the shore of the river, it would be really cool if you could implement that in as well
Please let me make it clear that i do NOT mean this as a rant or any sort of a slam. I just thought i would share my thoughts. And i really to like that you are doing this.

How did you go about generating that much land? That wouldn've taken me at least a couple hours to do by flight.
Here's a couple screenies of the crash location after logging back in:

working ok so far here with release 5, 148 mods, awesome looking mountains on spawn;
WOAH! How did you manage that?! That.. is definitely a pre-built map of some sorts! And I want it! Please.
That looks absolutely sick.
So these maps just posted
almost 100k chunk map:

Chiming in to confirm that Custom Ore Gen is working with RTG.
Okay. So, do note that my game is somewhat heavily modded, but here's a few weird things going on.
Streams: Working but generating some weird bridge things.
Maelstrom: Weird water rectangle... or lack thereof.
Floating BOP tree: Speaks for itself.
Iceberg rows: Weird stripey pattern of random ice
Mods:
Treecapitator
ItemPhysic Full
Better Foliage
Better FPS
Biomes O Plenty
Custom Ore Gen
Fast Craft
Minecraft Comes Alive
Optifine
Pam's Harvestcraft
RTG
Streams
Voxel Map
Hope that helps at all. Need anything else, let me know.
