Ok, thanks, the idea is remove some functions and make a preset of waypoints for server, but I'm getting some errors in compiling(i have no idea why), in mapwriter.region.MwChunk in line meta = itemStack.getMetadata(); (The method getMetadata() is undefined for the type ItemStack) and in mapwrite.forge.MwForge in line InetSocketAddress address = (InetSocketAddress) event.manager.getRemoteAddress(); (The method getRemoteAddress() is undefined for the type NetworkManager)
I'm trying to build it on forge 1.7.10-10.13.4.1558
What exactly do you mean by "in the client"? It is run on the client even now, it is just not directly in the client jar, if that's what you mean.
And that is kind of the whole point in Forge.
Using "JAR modding" ie. directly putting things in the client jar was the old way of doing things, and it is bad and should NOT be done anymore. It causes problems with legality, it is much more difficult for the users, and also causes major issues with compatibility, you could rarely run multiple mods at the same time without them conflicting. There is absolutely no reason to do that anymore. Why exactly would you want that anyway?
And what do you mean by "I've seen clients have this mod in them."?
So if that's actually a custom version of the full client and not a mod for Forge, then you are out of luck. This is exactly what I was talking about earlier: compatibility. If that is a custom full client, then you can't easily install MapWriter or any other mod. Whereas if that (whatever it is) was made as a Forge mod, then you could just download and place MapWriter (or any other Forge mod) in the mods/ directory and they would happily all work together.
Not to mention that anyone else than Mojang distributing (modified or not) versions of the game is illegal as well...
Question: How do you quit the game? I often see people close it from the window's X. But MapWriter seems to be doing lots of saving when quitting the game, so if you close it via the Quit game button, it will freeze for a few seconds as it saves things. Not sure if closing it from the X kills it immediately and it fails to save the world and/or image data and possibly corrupts it somewhat?
I always use the "Quit Game" button. The other odd issue I am having is that if you zoom in or out on areas of the map where you have been what is displayed will sometimes show as black as you cycle through zooming in/out (for example zooming in all the way will show the visited areas but zooming all the way out will then show those areas as black).
the black map means that for some odd reason that zoom level wasnt saved properly.
also i think the games cant realy keep up with loading and handling the chucks. this sometimes happens when playing on a heavy modded game. you could try and lower the number of chunck updates in the mapwriter config.
