Glad you like it. I haven't added anything in a while because I was pretty confident it is stable, was working on another one, had a real job in life and didn't know what to add next. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Here is what I would change:
1. have the seeds look like the beets, but with different colors (depending on diamond/iron/gold/coal/emerald)
2. have the crops look like the beets, but with different colors (same as 1)
3. add redstone
4. change the recipe to be easier to craft, have a lower chance to drop more seeds than enough to replant (like 1% chance to drop more than one seed) and take a lot of time (like an hour in real life) to grow anything (like 30 minutes for 1 coal, 45 for 1 iron, 60 for 1 gold, 90 minutes for gold and emerald, maybe also add glowstone dust for 75 minutes).
With those changes the mod would be much better!
Maybe I should add seeds for coal, redstone, glowstone, etc that would be cool. As for drop chance, you can change that in the config (on the minecraft screen >> mods >> M'Ore Seeds) for each drop.
As for the beets, you mean you want it to look exactly like beets without a custom texture? The seeds are already hard to make, so that's why they are relatively easy to grow (making a diamond take 2 hours for a 1% drop rate sounds like hell XD), but perhaps I'll add a config for a wimpy recipe (just need the materials and not the block forms.
This mod is supposed to be hard to start but the pay off is pretty much worth it. That's what I think anyway, but if more users ask me to make it take longer to grow I'll add it, or at least add a way for it to take longer.

Any chance of you adding coal, lapis, and redstone? I know mod support, and adding the animal/mob/dirt/water/fire crops, is a bit hefty of a task, but since magical crops isn't going to be updated, having at least the full vanilla ore support would be nice. Better yet, why not just port it for 1.8/1.9?
Crash report when run with my modpack (list of mods here - click on the 1.8 tab) on my server: http://pastebin.com/daT1DPrS
Although it runs fine in single player. Just not on my server. Maybe it's not Ore Seeds. But it seems to be related.
