<Edit> Okay, I should had read the whole thread lol... And... is there a way so that the person who placed the teleplate becomes the owner automatically? Because I tried placing two teleplates and naming them and I have no way of hitting myself with a stick (sorry if this sounds too obvious, but I just don't know what to do XD...)
Teleplate automatically becomes yours when you place it. If permissions system is active, you become owner of teleplate (above administartor).
How do you know that you don't own teleplate that you just placed?
Just looked deeper into distant essentia consomation (like runic altar from thaumcraft) and i can say that it may consume quite a bit of precessing power if run on every teleplate every tick...
Yup. Distant essentia consomation (like altar) if executed for each plate each tick, may be quite laggy.
It either must happen rarer or not happen at all. What do you think?
Do they have a cost to be kept "open", rather than just to transport a player, then? I could imagine that getting laggy this way then. I figured it was just a cost to transport the player, which might be a suggestion, if it doesn't go against your ideas for it
But if it's better to have it piped in, then have it piped in

No, teleplates work per transfer pay way, but it has internal storage that it takes everything from and tries to keep full.
If each teleplate will each tick try to fill it's storage and scan world around for jars, it could become quite laggy.

Man, this is teleportation mod I've always wanted. Like, for years. Thank you!
One question: my hubby and I play via LAN. This... is not super friendly to Lan players. Near as I can tell, I can't do the hit-with-stick stuff with him, and there was one case when he laid down a plate and I got the dialog to name it (so did he), and then when he used said plate, I was given the dirt-BG teleport options too -- only to my plates though.
No worries though, I"ll just set up a server for us. (Just gotta remember how lol)
It would be nice if the game was a little more group-of-friends friendly... Maybe something like...hitting a person with a stick puts them into a group.. and each plate has their permissions set up via group..
For example:
My groups:
Family: James, Harry
Friends: Sirius, Remus, Peter
Order of the Phoenix: Albus, Minerva, Molly, Arthur (
Then I can set up my teleplates so that anyone of my family or friends can access my home base. But only my family can access the storage rooms. Only members of the order of the Phoenix can access the neat secret guild hall I made.
And, this way I can set up teleports for 'everyone' in a group without having to hit them with sticks for every teleplate added ("have I given you access to the vault yet?") and add people to the group without having to run them everywhere in creation to hit them with sticks XD
As well, I imagine server admins might like the ability to set some as 'global' or 'public' for 'everyone' when they log into the server for the first time
Anyway, my only other quibble would be that it's SO easy to accidentally break a teleplate-- making it even more inconvenient to have to stick-swat everyone, hahaha. It really might be nice to have a tele-stick that you use for the random things (I dunno.. a stick and some glass maybe? maybe an item you get when you use a stick on a teleplate?)

That's a weird bug, i'll check what may be causing it.

Because some reasons that i don't remember anymore, permissions can be activated only on dedicated servers.
Also, permissions system is not final and needs serious improvements, as you said.
Your idea is quite good. I'll see what other's think, and then implement better permissions system.

I think that i will release a hotfix with configurable teleplate hardness. Because some people will want it to be insta breakable, other won't.

Ah! I jsut had a thought -- I just realized i'm using Telepads-1.7.2_1.7 -- so it's possible that that is a bug only with that version. Sorry! I hope I didn't send you digging fruitlessly for no good reason.
( I normally make my mod packs for the latest version... but put this one together one year ago, never played, then tossed teleplates in (the right version for my forge and everything) and ran with it. Just.. totally forgot. Sorry! -- It's not a version conflict, jsut maybe an old version where the issue wouldn't happen.)

y'know fair enough

Thank you! I look forward to seeing how things change in time -- be it with my idea or another idea!
I also love the idea of configurable hardness! Myself, I just keep wrong-clicking on the plates and popping them up, hahah

You're very welcome! I"m glad I can do my part to help. Creating is hard work--no matter if it's a mod, or a story or a picture! When you provide something for free, you should be appreciated for it!
And this really is the perfect teleportation mod!

Probably not. It should not be incompatible with telepads, it don't do anything with it.
Although, it may be incompatbilewith any other mod's old version.

That's strange.
It may be caused by server-client slow syncing or other syncing issue.
Did you try relogging and waiting a bit before teleporting?

For now, i'll leave distant essentia consomation aside and continue mod integrations and fixing bugs.

Everything that is technically left is fixing thaumcraft and blood magic, which should not be that hard.

Got it!
1.1 is uploaded to curse!
Go get it!
For now, i'll not post changelog here.
But you probably already know what is waiting for you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Have you found any bugs in 1.1 yet?

Forgot to mension, 1.1 is crucial for moving to new save system.
Before updating further, make sure you updated to 1.1 first.

Can you, please, post client and possibly server log? This will help me solve the problem.

Ok. But i still have to remember why i have made it so.
But i'm sloved down, because of problems of proting saving to new system. It make take some more time than expected.
Thank you!
Any feedback always helps!

Sounds awfully familiar. But I think it'll work.
It does. I was partially inspired by other mods.
Is it good or bad? Should it be different?
Check out all my mods here: Link Removed!
So, is it better to stick with permissions system we currently have, or try out private-protected-public system?
