Hello, been a while since I last posted here. It's great seeing my little piece of shader code in the new Continuum releases! Anyway, I recently started working on a resource pack, but parallax occlusion mapping seems to be extremely bugged for me. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, as it seemed to be working in the Continuum 1.3 update video.
(Have changes been made that would possibly make my Chroma Hills resource pack outdated?)
The below screenshot is of Chroma Hills (128), which seems to have the same issue as my resource pack (256). I properly adjusted the TEXTURE_PACK_RESOLUTION value, but to no avail. It almost looks as though only the highest points in the texture are being rendered, and the rest is this strange orange color. However, some blocks, like sand, appear to render correctly, which is very confusing. Makes me thing it could be some kind of texture atlas problem (but I could be completely wrong lol). I can't test with Continuum 1.2, as it seems to be broken after I got my GTX 1080 and the new nvidia drivers.
By changing some values such as atlasTiles etc. I got it to almost kinda work, but the textures look warped, and there are lines between them. Any thoughts? Will POM be fixed for the final release of 1.3? Cause it seems like POM has always been kinda wonky since way back in the day.
This may very well be an issue with my resource packs and not the shader, but thanks for any support, and thanks for working to create best shader pack out there!
(the strange orange block is supposed to be cobblestone... rip)
Ok I think I know what might be the problem, try turning of godrays, not the volumetric light but the 2D screen space ones and I think this will fix your problem. I have experienced this on my old pc that has a GTX 570 and unfortunately these older cards are bugging out with some bits of our code.
Oh ok. i have turned off the GodRays.. now its almost perfect but i am looking the background.. well lets start with grounds... these grounds (grass, tree, grass, flower etc) are all green. but the sky are almost perfect... except the sky are light blue. thats not right color for the sky..
i will try to isolate the problem.. i am starting the profile from "Low" and enable few options to see if i can find the problem.
The profile "Low" is working perfect..so i will be using the "low" profile to find which features is causing me problem.I will be enabling one of these features, one at a time starting with "Shadow and Lights" so here it is:
-Godray ENABLED: got a background yellow/light-blue/white/blue... but the blue show up when i am looking at sun.. but it has 4 colors.
-Global_llumination ENABLED: got a background of light-blue and white.. (same problem with godray) but only 2 colors.
-MoonRay ENABLED: got a background which is BLUE, same as godray. but only when i am looking at the sun.
-Soft Shadow ENABLED: almost perfect, but the side of any block are all white.. except the top.. so the top are fine and they are visible. (i placed a block in front of me, the side are white but top is fine)
Thats all for now. and it look like my gpu has a problem with "shadow and lights" feature..if there is any more test you want me to do.. please let me know. and i also can provide you some information on which direction i am facing.. it can affect the background to 4 or 2 different colors.
so for now. i will use the profile "low" and it works perfect for me.
EDIT: ok i think i found a bug.. when i am in a cave.. but there is a waterfall. in front of me.. so i look up at the sky, its white and... well its better if i show you a picture.. and this is done with profile: "low"
You should notice the white part is the cloud.. mean i am looking at the sky.. but the rest of background with black is black. is the water.. i am just standing next to the water falling down.. i am inside cave.
Having problems with both 1.2.1 & 1.2.2 in GTX 1080 with newest drivers
In 1.2.1, it says "invalid composite2 " and black screen; in 1.2.2, it says "invalid composite" and renders things yellow.
Is there any way to solve this?
renders thing yellow, i had the same problem... you may want to try turn off the "Godray" and "moonray" it should temporary fix the problem for now. i just report few features that cause the background to be yellow or such other colors.. to the author.
edit: and uh um.. you may have to wait for the shader update to new version since you got invalid composite.. thats because of the GPU new driver that you just updated to.. and i am quite surprised that you are using GTX 1080.. now i know its the driver. not GPU.. that have problem with shader because of how they read the codes in these files.. fsh and vsh.
But when running the PBR version it works perfectly.
I had the same issue with SEUS 10.1, and I fixed it by modifying the composite file.
What should I change in the composite 2 file to fix this issue?
I want to run the non-PBR version as it works with REALISTICO texture.
Please download the latest continuum version 1.3 preview 1, you can find the download on page 25 or you can find it on our facebook page in a recent post, it is the non-PBR version
Yes for the high preset we would recommend a GTX 970 for decent fps (40fps+) also you might want to lower your render distance to under 12 if you haven't already and if you want more fps then maybe try having your resolution set to 720p
Thats shadow acne. If you have it, everyone else will too. It happens most when the angle between the sun and the block plane is almost 0, if that makes sense

Sushi Shaders - a fresh and (objectively/somewhat) realistic shader, approved by Past Life Pro, made by yours truly. Works on Mac OSX
I just downloaded and installed version 1.2 and used it with Optifine 1.10. On the low preset with 9 chunks, fancy graphics, smooth lighting max, etc. I get around 60 - 70+ FPS. On the high / ultra preset, I get about 30 - 40, and occasionally 50 FPS. This seems kind of unusual, because I have a pretty beefy system (other than my CPU):
-------------------------------------------
AMD FX 8320 @ 3.5GHz
16GB 1600mhz RAM (8 allocated)
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
-------------------------------------------
I know MC is very CPU intensive, but shaders are mostly reliant on the GPU, correct? Is this a bottleneck issue, or is it normal to get this kind of performance on a high-end card?
Something seems to be an issue there for sure, especially seeing as youre on low preset. First off, dont allocate 8gb to minecraft. Ever. 3gb should be a general absolute maximum. Your CPU should be fine, although its an AMD, and their performance is less than that of intel. Perhaps the drivers might be at fault. Ill leave the devs to discuss the rest though

Please try the latest continuum 1.3 preview 1 as I take it your using the PBR version and not the non-PBR version, the PBR version isn't optimized. You can find the download for it on page 25 or in a post on your facebook page. Ps you can wait another 24hr as of this post for the 1.3 preview 2 😉

Stazza , For 1.3pre2 have you been able to fix problem with AMD cards . Ive tested the latest AMD Crimson driver 16.7.3 and it is lightning fast on Windows 10 Redstone RTM .

I didn't realise there was a problem with AMD cards, can you fill me in on what's heppening
try and use the latest continuum 1.3 and see if it's fixed
hey dotmodded i wanted to ask are you ever going to make one for intel

Figured id show you how this Shader pack looks when i took it back in 1.9 <3
Love the shader its amazing and it just progressively gets better too!

p.s. works great in 1.10.2 <3

[/spoiler]Is there a way to fix the extremely dark glass? I have some colored glass in this server and it looks black unless there's a block right behind it.
Here's an example:

What version of continuum are you using?
I am using version 1.2.1 Non-PBR, Classic DOF.
EDIT: It seems that my issue is no longer the case with version 1.3, just tested it, and it works now.

Has anyone had the striping issue? I've tried many settings but can't fix it. The stripes change size as the sun moves.

Umm... getting 50 fps with a MSI GTX 1070 Gaming (no X.) Is this normal? Using 1.3 Preview 1. Cpu is a Intel i7 4790.
