i did notice when you break a block the particles show correctly, but when i fall over 4 blocks high and land on a block the particles displayed are pink.
That annoys me too, but unfortunately it's not easy to fix. The code that renders those particles is getting the texture from the block's model, but my blocks don't have models of the kind it's looking for, so it falls back on the missing-texture texture.
I'm planning to update to a later version of Forge at some point and ovehaul all the rendering code to make it less hacky, so maybe I'll be able to do something about it then.
now i know, thank you. and its really not too much of an issue man. I've played with pink n black several times. almost to where its a natural texture now, haha. i even had the idea of a block that was pink and black for a creative block.
Incredible Mod!!!! Nice Job. This is one of the best mods I've seen in a long time. I was just wondering if there was a tutorial to better understand the mod and how to use it, but it doesn't really matter. Incredible job!!
The new railing blocks are pretty impressive. Very pleasant-looking-- had no idea what I was missing. Looking forward to a 1.8.9 version some day, if you intend to extend support-- I don't know how feasible it is, but you did manage something so complex on 1.8 itself and its rendering system. Best wishes!
Thaumcraft, Blood Magic, Chisel, Botania, ArchitectureCraft (yes, I consider it very much among the best!). . 1.8.9 is such a sudden renaissance in the modding community. I'm happy that so many made the hurdle. Others still like 10pak's mods are skipping right to 1.9 when available.
I'm calling it 50% less hacky. I spent all day trying to remove the other 50%, but I failed. :-( I may have to try to get some more hooks added to Forge.
I am so pleasantly surprised that this mod exists, thanks for making it! I thought I was going to have to go back to blocky houses and sculptures...
Just one question - do you have support for any of the Chisel mods? There seems to be quite a few versions these days. The one I am using is found at this curseforge page: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/chisel (alpha for 1.8.9). If Chisel support exists or is added, that would really give a huge amount of creative scope.
Word on the street is it may become part of forge at some point soon.
Thank Notch, someone finally made something work. Can you put two different slabs together? Multimaterial walls is what I'm looking for, as 1.8.9 versions of Malisis Blocks isn't available yet, but is planned.
@Greg_Ewing Could you add more textures for your Architectural Blocks? Stuff like Green Stained Clay makes them have a missing texture.

if you go to the 1st page of the forum and click where it says "homepage" then scroll down to "usage" and click "user's manual" its right there.
detailed guide.

I actually have a 1.8.9 version working right now, and I hope to release it soon.
I had to resort to some nasty hacks to work around that, but I'm trying to improve things. The new version will be at least 25% less hacky!
good to know.
very good to know. i need this when 1.9 comes out and i can start fine tuning my builds.
1.8.9 isn't too much different from 1.9... very very similar. there is just less specificity in 1.8.9 than 1.9
:O!!

Thanks for the quick reply, Greg_Ewing!
Okay, there it is, the 1.8.8 / 1.8.9 release.

I don't know. I'd like to, but it depends on whether it will be possible to make my rendering system work with multiparts, which seems unlikely.
If you're interested, this is the multipart everyone uses on 1.8.9:

Thanks again for your work!
Where is the option to make railings in the sawbench? Or is it somewhere else? Sorry if it's a stupid question.
There should be a category for it in the list on the right.
circular slabs?
circular - squared edged too?
just an idea i had. looked good below some coffins i saw earlier today in another game.

I agree, I think it could use the exposure.
no no no, everyone should download greg's blocks and brag about how far superior 1.7.10 is to 1.8+
*is being patient for 1.9 forge*
