Compost box. Mix worms, dirt and perhaps bone meal to get compost. Compost could act as a "super" fertilizer. I still think you should add night crawlers for some sort of fishing use since your mod is based around worms.

Just my 2 coppers.
Hmm good thinking. Perhaps though might put worms, dirt, leaves, and left over food, like apples, rotten flesh, etc? That'd be quite like a real compost box.
I also agree the fishing would be great. It's quite complicated and I did spent a fair chunk of time attempting to get it working. it's just a bit beyond where I am at right now. Am certainly into the idea if I can get it working correctly.
Thanks again for you ideas! All input is welcomed.

I like your compost ideas.
One way you could incorporate worms into fishing is to make them part of the recipe for the fishing rod. Perhaps one could gather up some worms and create a "can of worms" that would be used along with string and sticks to craft a fishing pole. One would just assume that the worms would be used each time you cast out your line. Nightcrawlers could increase your chances of catching a fish.
Not sure how rare worms are but perhaps 8 worms and a can would equal a can of worms and 4 nightcrawlers and a can would equal a can of nightcrawlers.

Worms aren't very rare, but it can be configured in the config file. I've thought of this idea as well, and it could be done and would add a use to worms. The part about "Nightcrawlers could increase your chances of catching a fish." I suppose could be done by adding one of the vanilla enchantments when it's crafted. Maybe I could do this in the meantime until I get a handle on a custom fishing behaviour.
Any other changes to the fishing rod other than it's crafting and enchantments would seem require a lot more code then you'd guess.
PS. Thanks for the mock up crafting recipe! Looks cool!
Quick question: I keep seeing a "Bug Box" block, and I believe it to be from this mod. What does it do?
Thanks a lot! That's a block that's not yet implemented. The model is available in creative but it doesn't do anything in the release. I've made some progress on the functionality of it, but no ETA on a next release at this time. Really busy at work lately. Thanks for leaving a comment
v 1.1.2
- Mod Compatibility[/b]: Made a change to the way breaking logs are detected, extending compatibility to other mods. Tested with Biomes O'Plenty and Highlands mods.
Is this mod going to conflict with treecapitator? just wanting to make sure..

What that update comment meant was that now Worms mod works for logs other than just vanilla, like the new logs added by Biomes O'Plenty and Highlands.
It won't conflict with treecapitator, but I believe less grubs dropped because of the way that mod calculates the tree size and does it's drops. To my mod it seems to count as only 1 log broken. Vienminer seems to generate the correct number of drops, but if you haven't used it before be aware that it works a bit differently than Treecapitator.

It works with Treecapitator but each tree only counts as one log broken because of how that mod works. Vienminer seems to drop the correct number of blocks, but if you haven't used it be aware that it works a little differently than treecapitator.

I actually have started modding in 1.8+ so I don't have a 1.7.10 environment set up yet. Maybe if there's enough interest I can in the future. I plan on releasing a survival mod that adds a set to tools before the vanilla ones and makes the earlier game a bit more challenging and interesting. This mod is the first part of that plan, because although I want to make things more challenging, nobody likes starving to death
Thanks, jadenPete! Yeah, I started modding in 1.8 to try and fill the gap since there aren't as many mods for it yet. I have a pretty decent computer, but 1.8 runs so much smoother with better FPS for me. I can actually ride a horse in 1.8
Count this as interest towards a 1.7.10 release.
Something else to note, most mods are still for 1.7.10 by far, and there are also quite a few mods on 1.8.9, but 1.8.0 isn't so populated. Many popular mods and modpacks do not have a 1.8 version, which makes using this mod dificcult, because that means having to sacrifice some other mods in order to revert to 1.8.
And some quick suggestions, if you're interested: Spiders from Cobwebs, and some kind of bug (Maybe a moth?) from leaves.

Thanks for the interest, everyone. I haven't been actively developing the mod lately, I've been pretty busy with work/like/etc. I can't say with certainty when it will receive an update. Perhaps the one to 1.8.9 would be pretty easy, but I'll have to put it on the list of things to consider if I end up with enough time. I am really happy with the fact that some people have used the mod and got some enjoyment out of it

Sounds good. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I really like this mod. It's amazing.

I've always loved this mod!
I have a suggestion; I always tend to run out of food in the nether, so maybe something dropping from Soul sand? Like a Bloodworm or Leech?
I even made this account just to comment
Totally not because I forgot my password to my actual account ... hehehehIs this mod going to conflict with treecapitator? just wanting to make sure..

Hi, Sorry for the very late reply. Been very busy with work and such, haven't even been able to play my own mod in a while
Thanks, AbbadonAnt!

Hey, I really love this mod, is there any chance of a 1.8.9 or 1.10 version being released any time soon?
