I can confirm that I'm seeing the same issue (I cannot sprint using the standard double-tap "W"). I've tested this with a completely empty mod folder (not including "mod-controlpack1.10.2_gradle-5.93-beta2-mc1.10.2.litemod" of course) with a Forge and LiteLoader configured 1.10.2 installation.
~~~
Also, might it be possible to have a field in the "Other Options..." for an override list for the "Auto Tool Mode"? Specifically, a field for "Always Use Weakest" and "Always Use Strongest" which accepts a comma delimited list of block IDs.
The usage case is that I usually enjoy branch mining with stone picks, but I use a diamond pick with the suitable enchantments to harvest resources. But coal and lapis lazuli, both of which benefit from fortune enchantment, can also be mined with a stone pick. Ideally, I'd enter "16,21" into the "Always Use Strongest" field in the "Other Options..." section of the settings, and then Auto-Tool would override the default mode just for those blocks.
This also works for the more common setting of a primary iron pickaxe with a diamond pickaxe for mining your resources as coal and lapis lazuli are both mineable with stone (and as such iron), so this would affect people that aren't just the crazy stone tool using holdouts.
Thank you for your work with this mod, as it truly transforms the entire MineCraft experience!
Fire And Ice
Some say the world will end in fire
Some say in ice
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if it had to perish twice
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice
That is a known issue with the method I implement the sprinting logic (it's toggleable). I know how to fix it but I haven't gotten to it yet.
I'll see if I can add that feature later. I'm working on rewriting the autotool system (but it won't be finished for a while).
Ooh, sweet. Is it a rewrite as in the code while keeping the same functionality, or are you re-tooling (pardon the pun) the way the auto-tool system works?
I'm just rewriting the code to stay away from hardcoded values, just like I did with the audio volume settings.
I'm getting an annoying side effect using this mod now: whenever I close my inventory, the hotbar selection jumps to the first slot, regardless of which slot I had selected when I opened my inventory. It's definitely this mod causing it, because it goes away when I disable ControlPack.
I'm not sure what causes it, however. I don't have time to look into it right now, but if you could make a list of steps to cause the issue to reproduce consistently, that will help me.
I've gone back to playing MC 1.7.10 for now, due to GregTech. IDK if you're still updating that version of the mod, but I've thought of a couple of features that you might consider adding to some version of the mod:
1. A hotkey to lock the player's direction to exactly be a cardinal direction. This would allow using auto-run along a bridge without safety railings.
2. "Run back distance" - as far as I can tell, currently the "run distance" hotkey only works for running forward. However, I like to use run back + sneak + use for building midair structures, where running forward wouldn't really work.
I might be able to backport the mod, but I'm busy right now.
Whoops. Somehow I lost track of that, but apparently so did the people who maintain the MCF Mod List - they credit you as the author of ControlPack when listing mods for 1.7.10, and even link to this thread rather than infinitiesloop's thread. Also, looking at that thread now, the initial post conflicts with what you're saying. infinitiesloop said you ported the mod to 1.7.10.
Ah, yeas, I did port it to 1.7.10. Sorry, I couldn't remember :-/
fisrt of, thanks for still updateing this masterpiece, i wish i could do this myself or help you, but unfortunately this is not the case!
I got a quick question, i am using this mod together with silent gems mod which adds more tools to the game, it recognizes the pickaxes but not the shovel, i am a bit confused as of why it is like that and if there is any option to add 3rd party tools to the autoswitch selection.
Also, might it be possible to have a field in the "Other Options..." for an override list for the "Auto Tool Mode"? Specifically, a field for "Always Use Weakest" and "Always Use Strongest" which accepts a comma delimited list of block IDs.
The usage case is that I usually enjoy branch mining with stone picks, but I use a diamond pick with the suitable enchantments to harvest resources. But coal and lapis lazuli, both of which benefit from fortune enchantment, can also be mined with a stone pick. Ideally, I'd enter "16,21" into the "Always Use Strongest" field in the "Other Options..." section of the settings, and then Auto-Tool would override the default mode just for those blocks.
This also works for the more common setting of a primary iron pickaxe with a diamond pickaxe for mining your resources as coal and lapis lazuli are both mineable with stone (and as such iron), so this would affect people that aren't just the crazy stone tool using holdouts.
I forgot about this mod :-P
Sorry! I forgot that my family was going on vacation, and we came back a day late!
I'll attempt to release 1.11 and 1.11.2 versions for this mod in 15 hours! I cleaned up the code and forgot to update before I went out!
Edit: Updated ETA to 16 hours from this edit.
1.11 version:
https://bintray.com/uyjulian/MinecraftMods/download_file?file_path=mod-controlpack1.11-5.93-beta2-mc1.11.litemod
1.11.2 version:
https://bintray.com/uyjulian/MinecraftMods/download_file?file_path=mod-controlpack1.11.2-5.93-beta2-mc1.11.2.litemod
These versions don't have all the bug fixes, but I'll release 5.93-beta3 for all maintained versions with bug fixes for sprint and item hotbar later.
Sorry for the wait!
Thanks for the update!
The mod probably doesn't implement canHarvestBlock correctly. I'll take a deeper look later.
