Since a lot is happening at the moment, I couldn't work on this project for some time, but it's not dead though. As I really dont like the crappy coding, I will completely remake this mod, so it may take some time but will result in a better working mod.
What does this mod do?
This mod adds three blocks to the game to the game, which automatically feed animals nearby.
Those Blocks are the "Manger", the "Pet Manger" and the "Horse Manger".
-The Manger
This Block feeds and breeds nearby animals of the types sheep, cow, pig and chicken.
To do so, it requires the specific animal's feeding-item stored in it and at least two, grown-up animals of the same kind in a 9x4x9 area around it.
I like the idea! The only place where you find these is in industrial mods (minefactory reloaded, for example). Having this as a separate mod, with that so-vanilla block, will be useful

It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
First, each type of item has it's own side of the specific manger-block. The texture on it shows the filling-stand of the itemstack.
Whilst you can always store up to a stack of each item, there are three 'Stages' the texure shows: empty(showing no items), 1-32 items (showing a little bit of the space filled) and 33-64 items(showing all the space filled)
Second, the manger checks about every second if there are any feedable animals nearby. But it only consumes any feed when there are two animals ready , so there won't be anything wasted and the animals will be bread immediatly when you could feed them by hand.
Actually the orientation of the player not playing a role when placing the block is not a bug, but simply not yet implemented. I planned to work on this after updating to 1.8 whenthere is some time
Each type of item should have it's own side on the block, so if you fill the 'Manger' with carrots, there should only one texture be changing. If you fill it with seeds or wheat afterwards another texture should change and so on.
In my post you can check which items can be filled in which manger in the specific spoilers.
Of course you can feel free to create your own textures for my mod, I'd love to link your textures with some information (any matching resource pack, your threat ... )

There some modpack permissions around here somewhere? Because I'm thinking of making a public modpack and I'd like permission to add this to my pack (if everything works together like I hope it will).

-The Pet Manger
This Block feeds and breeds nearby animals of the types ocelot and wolf.
To do so, it requires the specific animal's feeding-item stored in it and at least two, grown-up animals of the same kind in a 9x4x9 area around it.
(feeding items: ocelot -> fish, wolf -> rotten flesh, raw porkchop, raw beef, raw chicken)
For each animal fed there will be one of the specific Items deleted from the manger's inventory.
You may obtain the manger by putting 2 iron bars, 6 wooden planks and one chest into a crafting grid in this pattern:
-The Horse Manger
Finally this one feeds and breeds nearby horses.
To do so, it requires golden apples or golden carrots stored in it and at least two, grown-up horses in a 9x4x9 area around it.
For each horse fed there will be one of the specific Items deleted from the manger's inventory.
You may obtain the manger by putting 2 iron bars, 6 wooden planks and one chest into a crafting grid in this pattern:
How do I install the mod?
As this is a normal forge mod, you just need to download the jar below and move it into your mods folder.

Actually, it is indeed possible for me to create one further mangerBlock like this, but this is not yet planned as theres a lot to do at the moment.
And yes, the updates I 'm going to come up with are for 1.8 as well as for 1.7.10
Those are really nice textures, do you want to create an ressourcepack-addon out of these and uplload them yourself?
