Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what're the requirements to unlock the Warpwood Wand Core research? I've cleared out the Basic tab, Eldritch tab, what's available in Tainted Magic's own tab... nothing's making it show up.
Howdy there!
I'm very pleased with the unique content! Playing with friends on a server with a own modpack, including Thaumcraft and Tainted Magic. It took me a while, but I nearly researched everything possible. Seeing the Thaumic Disassembler, I knew I had to make one. I placed the necessary essentia, the void tools on their places. The Thaumic Alloy carefully placed in the center. Eagerly I tried to activate the infusion, but 'nothing' happened. Nothing at all.
So I was trying to fix that without any success. But maybe the creator himself may know some solution to that problem (seemingly no one else except me has)?
We're playing on Minecraft 1.7.10. Thaumcraft 4.2.3.5, Tainted Magic r7.6
Other mods installed:
AdvancedSolarPanel-1.7.10-3.5.1
Another One Bites the Dust
Applied Energistics 2
Edit: So I tried disabling one mod after another now. In the end there was only thaumcraft and tainted magic left. Believe me or not, it wouldn't work. Even though only these two mods were installed. Do I have to activate that recipe somewhere?
So, any teasers for some new feature coming soon :P?
Also, If you wanted to modify taint effects from the biome/ flux based blocks, would you be unable/unwilling to do that? Because right now, destroying someones base with bottles of taint isn't really an effective way :P. I would suggest adding some of your own flux based features to taint if you can, and some TC5 flux features because TC5 buffed tainted by much

Also the new update is beautiful
A flamethrower, but Vitium essentia or flux instead of fire... taintthrower?
The Volcanic Inscription seems to make the charge attack worse as the projectile hits before the charged melee, and with hit immunity that is the only damage that is applied, turning what could be 40dmg into 3. Even the projectile itself is extremely weak, dealing from 1-8 damage seemingly randomly.
So, the Ichor caps from Thaumic Tinkerer give a 30% vis discount, and so do the Shadowmetal caps...
But, the Shadowmetal caps require primordial pearls (I don't remember if the pearl is used up) and Ichor caps require 1 nether star for 8 ichor.
I feel like if you're going to use primordial pearls in your caps, maybe you should give them a greater discount. (Also, MRU caps from Essential Thaumaturgy give a 40% discount, which I think is the highest discount available.)
Just my thoughts, though. Altogether, it's up to you.
I suppose that can compensate for the caps, but Nether Stars are easier to get than primordial pearls and there are much more Nether Stars. (Although, I can kill a Wither in 30 seconds in my modpack, and I have an easy way to get Wither Skulls...)
I suppose if Shadowmetal caps changed to a higher discount, players who had Ichorium caps on an expensive wand/staff/scepter might want to recreate all those wands/staffs/scepters with Shadowmetal caps. (If they're really intent on having the most efficient caps. My OCD tells me I would do it.)
It could either frustrate players (not that it really matters in this case) or give them something to do.
This is my "thinking aloud."
TLDR--I think Shadowmetal caps are more expensive than Ichorium and maybe should have a higher discount.

You should really add enchantability to Fortress Blades and Thaumic Disasembler. They feel so useless without the ability to add enchantments.
Fortress blade is not even recognized as a weapon by Osmotic Enchanter and Thaumic Disasembler is recognized but gets absolutely no enchanting options.
I feel items who can be enchanted are way more useful in the game

I think Shadowmetal Fortress Armor needs to be toned down a bit, or have a config option for it's durability. It has way too much protection and durability.

I'm still adjusting values for like, everything. It's likely to change.
Is there a way to turn off the particle effect? The particle effect is causing my players to crash out of the server, and then subsequently, it's crashing the server as well.
We tried to roll back to the last updated file on out 1.7.10 server, but it won't load because of it. Were you able to test the particle effect to make sure it was compatible with other mods first?
The particle effect for the Time Foci particle effect has caused two crashes so far. Nothing else from the mod has, but the Time Foci seems to be the problem.

... halp?
Did you already complete that specific research? (Compared to looking it up on the web.)
Research
Recipe
If you have the research, and the prerequisites, and the recipe correct... it should work.

I'm working on some stuff. Will be updating soon.

so what was removed between 1.1.6.4 and 7.0? i only notice the croissants & the void seed bearing warpwood tree is gone.

I can't speak for the author, but I feel that wouldn't really fit into the theme of the mod, without some adjustments maybe.

Shadow tools are all drastically better than diamond in regards to durability, respective mining speed, and attack strength.
