No, kidding, current look is fine. I too like the idea of upgradeable drill so to provide some base metals integration, but it doesn't even have to be a frame. Could be ...wheels on the bottom that allow it to slide a block left or right. Or spawn a new drill block like it was suggested, resulting in a double drill. Or something. How is it done in real life? I know they have drills but they sort of hang before drilling, mounted on portable platforms like boats, cranes and such. And well with invention of slime blocks, aren't you able to produce moving machines now just in vanilla? I know I've seen a video...hmmm. Ahh here we go:
so it's not like the mechanism isn't possible even with vanilla. It's just hard to keep the pipes connected with that method....unless you make the platform bigger and put the whole setup with boiler and drill on it. Lol omg if I have time I might just have to try that out for pure lols. I wonder if it'll restart the drill every time as the blocks move or if it'll simultaneously drill all 64 sideways or if it'll just crash. *Goes off to tinker...
As for textures I thought they look awesome. I wouldn't change that. I don't like the neotech everything is a box with just a different pattern look. That's too much like TE. I always liked rotarycraft for example, for its unique and very realistic looking graphics and I like steamcraft for trying for the similar but with its own steampunk twist.
ps. Did you make the wiki account? Don't have to set anything up, just make the account so that you're the admin, and post the link to it so we can edit.
Hmm but you're not moving it by piston technically. The pistons are moving the whole setup, and just at the back, you build a platform. It's not like it obeys the laws of physics so you just make an overhang of any size. Then you build your setup on it. So in essence, the whole platform is moving. The drill relative to it is stationary.
The real challenge would be to actually drill ahead of the vehicle which would be kind of difficult but maybe...you set up like 3x3 rigamarole in front of it, connected sideways so it doesn't interfere with the moving parts so it just drills straight ahead. Agh if I have time, I'll try it out.

but you are moving by piston because the piston pushes the slime block and all attached slime blocks up to 12, so it still won't work
however you could set up a fuel source like the tank or the creative items and have them on the moving platform and as they go by they power the drills

Man, I'm making too many tiny updates in a short time. That's 3 updates in about 24 hours, 4 if you include the Steam Advantage update. I've just been unusually ADD this past 2 days.

I'm in. I'll try add stuff. Not familiar with this format but shouldn't be too hard.
Well...adding stuff isn't hard. Formatting it to look good will take some time. I'll probably just dump content off of your individual mod pages first, and tweak the look later.
In the meantime, you might want to look into pre-made themes. They're available to admins only and while I can change positioning and appearance of all the text, the basic elements of the page setup I can't tinker with. So just pick one you like. If you like this one, disregard.

thanks man, but i have some sorta bad news the dev for exnihilo is on the verge of quitting after this last round of bugfixes
Hmmm... Sorry to hear that Erasmus was not able to sufficiently monitize his Ex Nihilo mod to make it a stable source of income.
Though reading his post it sounds like Forge has working fluids. Is that true? I've been waiting to add crude oil to Power Advantage.
@Zohar: Thanks a bunch for getting the wiki started! You're free to copy-paste the info from the forum pages. I'm working on a logo right now. Let me know if you see any catchy CSS themes to try.

it's true with the latest version of forge, but i did crash once when i dumped the bucket on the ground but that might of been from his custom buckets or the fluid within it
Will do. I'm in a bit of a pickle today and tomorrow as I'm repainting several rooms so I've mostly been reading its guides on formatting which aren't terribly user friendly, but I'll work on it on sunday to get most essentials up.
I messed with the theme a bit. Nothing fancy, but at least it has a slash of color now. I'll do some work on the mod pages too.

To the best of my knowledge, all machines emit a redstone comparator signal. However, I think the boiler emits a signal proportional to its stored steam, which means it will only output when there are no connected machines consuming steam power. I could change that you be proportional to the number of fuel items in the inventory.

that's what i had in mind, but a better idea would be to have a tool that when rightclicked/shift right clicked would let you toggle/choose input/output and what the value of the input and output they have steam/fuel
I implemented the easier of the two drill options.
Allow me to present: The Steam Track
The Steam Track is made by combining a steam pipe with a steel frame. The steam drill will automatically follow the track when it hits the limit of its drillbit (i.e. hits bedrock or extends out 64 blocks). When the drill moves, it places a steam pipe behind it and covers the hole with a steel frame block to prevent you from accidentally falling in. You can pick-up the steel frame and steam pipe to recraft the steam track, so using the track does not cost you any resources (beyond the initial investment).
Pro tip: put a line of item conveyors above your steam track to automatically collect the drill's inventory as it mines. If the drill inventory fills up, it stops drilling.

Killer on the Steam Track. Laying the pipe & frame behind like that is original.
I had a question about the upcoming Electric Advantage. What are your plans for the production units? As in what are the machines, and how is it metered. It seems like Steam Energy is all in units of one. Where as, if you didn't already beat me to the punch, I was thinking about writing an add-on of "green" machines like wind turbines & solar panels. Perhaps even water turbines that have to be in flowing water or geothermal systems with a Heat Energy type that can be converted to either Steam or Electricity. Back to the original question, but all of these would need to have multiple units 'chained' together as a system (perhaps even sored in capacitors) in order to have enough juice to be usable.
I imagine it sorta like this

lol, this won't work the drill is considered a container and containers can't be moved by pistons
but it is a good idea if it would work

id like to make a request for your next update, have the coal-fired steam boiler able to emit a comparator signal
this would help greatly in some of my advanced builds
btw i love that drain can emit a signal, i used this to my advantage when making a water gen
