As some of you may have realized, I tend to have issues going around but this is something that will have a huge impact on the efficiency of developing this mod. We are having family issues which could possibly go on for a few years. I'm not giving up on the mod, I just won't be able to work on it as much as I was. I will release that beta though. It just may be more buggy and have less items and features implemented with each beta released.
I think it's about time I be honest with you guys. I have lost a lot of motivation to continue this project. Lately I've been busy with in real life issues and now that they are over, and things are back to normal, I really don't know what I want to do. I've also come to realize all the mistakes I've made already. I called my builds "beta builds" which are actually \alpha builds. Mistakes like these also demotivated me to continue with the project. I am also still fairly new to the Java language. I can already do quite a bit. I can go as far as to create a very basic 2D game engine but I don't know if it will be enough to create a full featured mod like this. Another thing is that it seems like a lot of you don't care to see what happens to this mod. If you all want to see this become a very successful project, let me know and I'll definitely continue it. Especially now that I have 3-5 other people who might want to help me with it. Another thing to note, I am not in any sort of depression. I am just being completely honest with you guys. Lately I've been trying to help out the Mineplex community. It's probably one of my favorite servers. Anyway, I'm just letting you all know that's going on.
Having just found this thread the other day, I am honestly very hopeful that you do not give up.
The Elder Scrolls series is by far my favorite in all of gamedom. So it always excites me to see some one take it as inspiration and do awesome things with it. For example, and Oblivion inspired Minecraft Mod.
I would very much love to see you keep working on it, and would also be happy to know how I can get involved or keep up to date. Unfortunately my skill set will likely make me useless beyond testing and feedback, but hey, happy to help keep the great idea going.
I want to give you a bit of history on this. 2 years ago, when I first made this mod, I had no idea what I was doing. I followed a tutorial online on how to make Minecraft mods and it didn't look too hard to me. When I tried to figure out how to make something on my own, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I then decided to learn a bit about Java and how it works. One mistake that I made was that I thought if I could understand it right away.... That's not really the case. lol. Anyway, I eventually came to the conclusion that I would have to take a year or two trying to figure out how to even use the language. That's when I started getting information from all kinds of sources on how to do this thing and that thing. Then IRL issues came along and I wasn't able to get anything done. Well you know the rest. I think I might continue to develop the mod. I still need a bit more experience but I'm getting there. To be honest, I didn't expect anyone to reply. Either way, I need to finish this plugin first. It's for a server that I work with. If you would like to get involved, I definitely wouldn't mind any help. If you can at least do some basic things such as initialization, (yes, it is programming related) it would definitely save me a bit of time and I can go ahead and work on the more advanced stuff. Or if you want to create textures, be the idea-man, or just anything else, I wouldn't mind the help at all. Go ahead and PM me if you would like to help.
I'm still deciding on whether to make this project open-source or not. Before I decide on that, I am going to decide on whether or not I will continue this project. I'm been having a big long debate about it. (I've been debating for about 4 months now) It's kind of an up-in-the-air sort of thing. I am also developing an anger issue and I think continuing this project will help me with that as I will become more patient in a way. Continuing this will also help me to learn to persevere. If I start releasing updates more often, don't get your hopes too high. I still don't know if I'll stop this project for some reason.
I will be completely restarting this project from the ground up; following Java convention, more organised code, optimization, and more. I will release this new alpha when CurseForge approves my mod submission. I will also be starting a new thread and moving all information from this thread, to the new one. TAKE NOTE** I do not know if I will continue this project! I just decided to completely restart! Thanks for your time. See you later!
EDIT: They approved my mod within the first 3 minutes... That's a new record for them. xD I will recreate the thread soon.
