You don't have to unless you literally don't have enough spare RAM in your system to be able to afford to allocate more than the 1GB that's already allocated. I usually have 4-6GB allocated but I also use a ton of mods, some of them being pretty heavy. If not, sorry. :/ Sucks having to pick and choose with so many great mods out there.
its still says error when i try to assemble my cruise ship, also i have 16gb ram and a intel core i7 processor.
also i am on 1.7.10, like basically i want to increase the block limit in the config mods menu, but and then when i try to assembling my cruise ship it says error. Weird.
I was pretty much done with a 1.9 port but ran into some issues with the anchor point, if you're okay with the anchor being temporarily disabled then I'll get a build out soon.
Yes, yes please! Name it 1.9 Alpha or whatever, but the sooner you release for 1.9 the better! I haven't used minecraft for many months, because I didn't want to play anything except the latest version with your mod. Today I saw Forge is out for 1.9, so I came straight here...
I don't understand the poll at the top of the screen about submersibles (been away too long I guess), but I think a submersible should have its own separate block. I know I never want any of my surface ships to be submersible, no matter how they're built.
1.8.9 Build is being added to the main post now, 1.9 development is now priority one.
Fantastic news! Godspeed to you, glorious facilitator! I may yet leap from my airship brandishing a blade foremost and also dirt as my contingency. (Seriously though, I am playing 1.9 and looking forward to airships.)
Is there a tutorial or anything for this mod? Or can someone guide me through like a simple airship or something? The wiki is almost completely useless.
Is there a tutorial or anything for this mod? Or can someone guide me through like a simple airship or something? The wiki is almost completely useless.
Build a helm block (see wiki), build your ship body in the world (from wood planks, for example), build some balloon blocks.
Add the helm and balloons to your ship (the number of balloon blocks must be at least 40% of the total blocks making the ship), then right click the helm to assemble and launch.
I hadn't looked at the wiki, but I think you're right, it is a bit light on info for newcomers to the mod. It would probably benefit a lot from a small tutorial, e.g. "Your First Airship", with pictures and an explanation to guide people through building their first ship.
Most of the information about the old mod applies, you can see the info about that in the spoiler of the main post. I need to get a basic guide some time soon for the wiki. For now though follow Chester's instructions. You can also add that to the wiki if you want.
Anchors draggin' everybody down.
I missed the opportunity for this amazing play on words.
Not sure about everyone else, but I'm totally down for that.
I also would not mind having an anchorless update. Maybe you could set up a poll? That is if you haven't already fixed it anyway lol

Looks like you need to allocate more ram.
But I can't let go of any of my mods!
I doubt you don't have more ram with that i7 you're using. Look into changing the amount of ram you're acclocating with your current launcher.
its still says error when i try to assemble my cruise ship, also i have 16gb ram and a intel core i7 processor.
also i am on 1.7.10, like basically i want to increase the block limit in the config mods menu, but and then when i try to assembling my cruise ship it says error. Weird.
also can u have still water or flowing water in the cruise ship while you assemble it. or is that why it says error.
Please do! That would be fantastic.
Another 1.8.9 build will be coming in soon, replaced all the netcode with LambdaNetwork because it's better in every way imaginable.
