however, i'm gonna list, in my opinion, the MOST original.
"The Flameserpent" is a Neutral mob that only turns aggressive when you get within 5 blocks of it. it is a red-scaled, winged, flame-tailed snake-like being. they say the stronger Serpents can live after death, as a Skeleton. they are 7 blocks long (aside from the boss, which is 10 blocks long, and the babies, which are 5 blocks and really thin) that has different genders/ranking.
females have long feelers (sorta like sylveon from Pokemon) on their head, and a slight glitter in their scales
Males have a dark set of horns on their head
babies have shorter horns/feelers depending on the gender
the "Dreadful Flamewraith" is the leader of the flock of beasts. about 3/4s of the way down its body, its tail splits into 4, each having flame on the end.
all flameserpents can defend themselves by flying into the air and performing a whip-like motion, shooting a fireball at you, or swooping from the sky and biting you. the flameserpents have 20 health each, with the babies being passive.
Spawn Locations: on the peaks of Extreme Mountains, Extreme Mountains +, Nether.
All the flameserpents can ignite nether materials, so its extra dangerous to fight them there.
"The Dreadful Flamewraith"
This massive beast is the leader of the pack. its quad tails and massive fangs are nothing to be messed with. this beast has 50 hearts.
Attacks:
Quad Flamebolt: Performs the whip-like motion all the Flameserpents can do, but shoots 4 fireballs.
Chomp: swoops down and bites you, sometimes inflicting poison
Death 1:
After being defeated, it crashes into the ground, everything except the skeletal structure turns to dust. But the skeleton starts flying again, unleashing a ear-splitting roar.
"The Skeletal HellSerpent"
The second life of the FlameWraith, this beast is even stronger, and has 100 hearts. as the name suggests, its a living skeleton, and this will be harder to fight.
Attacks:
Absolute Firestorm: points all 4 tails at you, then folds all of them out to 180 degrees. then the joint holding the 4 tails together starts rapidly spinning, and several fireballs are released, and aimed at your general direction. this is his strongest attack, and can easily reduce a full diamond armored player down to half health.
This beast uses all the attacks it knew before, but are stronger and have longer status effects.
Death 2:
It crashes into the ground (again) and the flames slowly begin to weaken, after about 5 seconds, they go out, and the skeleton starts disappearing (like the ender dragon's death animation, just yellow-red)
Reward:
a FlameSerpent egg. the flameserpent hatched will always be a child, as it takes 1000 years for a flameserpent to grow. it has a 45% chance to be a boy, 45% chance to be a girl, and 10% chance to be a FlameWraith. flamewraith. the flamewraith hatchling is the strongest flameserpent to have for a pet. the normal flameserpents have 20 health, and are healed with fire charges, or cooked meat. Flamewraith hatchlings are 50 hearts and eat Flint, Iron, Cooked Meat, fire charges, AND flint and steel. cooked meat heals the least amount, at 1.5 hearts, Fire Charges heal 3, Flint/Iron heal 5, and a flint and steel heals 20. they cannot be ridden due to their age and strength, but will help defend you in a pinch.
I'm sorry, but the idea is just too disjointed. You've attached many unrelated features to this mob to the point where it serves no real purpose in gameplay or atmosphere. I'm going to have to turn it down.
I have a list of creature ideas for the Mesa Biome specifically. I may do more Biome specific creature lists in the future. Here is what i have so far.
NOTE - Some of these creatures are men't to be ambient mobs with a less important use and are men't to add more life.
1: Needlewhip Lizard
Length - 2.3 meters
Height - 0.6 meters
First time trying digital art with mouse (it's hard)
Note - There should be a lot more spines and they should be thinner.
These cute lizards scurry along the red mesa desert, searching for shrubbery to eat. They are very simple in design except for their tail which is covered in long, thin, needle like spines that give the creature a more intimidating appearance.
They are very defensive creatures. When approached they will hiss at the intruder and wave their tail slowly, occasionally shaking it, creating a rattling sound as the spines smack against each other.
If the target doesn't leave or gets to close they will flick their tail at them, shooting 2-5 spines at them. These spines do little damage. The Needlewhip will flee after attacking 2-3 times or if the threat gets closer. They will repeat this cycle until the threat goes away or is killed.
The spines have a use, they can be used as an alternate non poisonous ammo for blow darts.
2: Pythark
Length - 13.7 meters
Height - 5.2 meters
Don't have image for (To lazy to draw it)
The Pythark is a large snake like monster slithers across the mesa in search of prey. It has rock like scales all over it's body excluding it's underbelly. The creature features short and sturdy back legs which allow it to rear up to protect it's face. It also features small arms to help lift it's body off the ground(When rearing up). It also has a frill that can be used for intimidation. It's most interesting feature is it's tail, which splits into two with both ends ending with a clump of rock hard scales.
It's primary attack is rearing up on it's back legs and spiting a sticky saliva that covers a large area. This liquid slows targets due to how sticky it is. But this is only the first step as it then smacks it's tails of the ground and each other, creating a spark and lighting the liquid ablaze like gasoline.
As well as this it also sometimes slams it's weight on the ground to crush prey.
This creature can be harvested for it's salivary glands and scales. Using the glands to create puddles over a large area and using the scales (Or another light source) to set it ablaze. Making effective traps.
Not sure about - it's scales can also be used to make flame resistant armor and shields.
The sizes of these creatures may be to big or to small so you can change that if you like the idea
I'm sorry, but the idea is just too disjointed. You've attached many unrelated features to this mob to the point where it serves no real purpose in gameplay or atmosphere. I'm going to have to turn it down.
I'm not trying to counter your judgement, but HOW is this disjointed? think about it simply: its a basic 2 phase boss that relies on good bow usage or well-timed sword strikes, with a bunch of minions, and with a pet as a reward. so, ill ask it again, how it it disjointed? i get how the attacks are random, but they're SUPPOSED to be random! and the other flameserpents are there to take your concentration off the boss so IT can attack! it relies on 2 gimmicks, but in the end, its just a basic flame-based boss with 2 phases! and, seeing as how you don't have a flame-based boss, this is PERFECT in the atmosphere! no vanilla OR Mowzie'sMobs boss has the fire ability, with the closest relation being Barako, the Sun Chief, with his Sun Powers!
(also, i forgot to put it in the first post, the design is based off Volvagia from LoZ OoT)

I don't know if you remember me BobMowzie, but its been awhile, I was wondering if my concept is good enough to be on the mod, I'm fixing to model and texture it while giving it a ai, I based it off of the one eyed Giant fossil and called a "Guardiathan" (It's now EnderMysterious rather than EnderPrince01 to be more unique) Id like to contribute it to the mod heres what it looks like, I drew it btw :
I thought of a few cool mechanics that could go with it. Guardians are only found in ocean temples. This mob should be a rare spawn, and stay at the bottom of deep ocean biomes, only becoming aggravated if a player swims downwards. (Particularly rare, as it seems very sea-monster-y)
The vanilla guardians method of attack is a laser beam and thorns that hurt you when you hurt it, so perhaps this mobs attack methods could be;
A: Aiming at where the player is after swimming a short distance away, taking around 6 seconds to charge up, then, a small laser would fire, and make a small chunk of water hurt you and quickly propel you upwards out of the water.
B: Rapid fire bubbles that get you stuck in them as they slowly move back up to the surface, where they pop in a fizzle.
I think that it'd be pretty interesting. The sort of "theme" I imagined was a sea monster trying to keep you from getting down to the ocean floor to harvest whatever goodies are there, while allowing ordinary ocean travelers to be fine. (Ocean temples, Caves, in Update Aquatic shipwrecks, ETC.)
Goodbye, Minecraft forums. If any of ya'll future people persons need to contact me for whatever dumb reason, my discord is EnderDude124#8340 as of 6/8/2019. Send me a message, I like a good chat.

Yea, the main idea was it lashed out with its jaws tearing everything apart, plus its tail reveals spikes when in attack mode, when not attacking the player, it eats squids

In general these seem to be a lazy attempt to make an epic creature (loosely) based off of some IRL sp's. I don't see this being added honestly, the lizard one adds a bit to atmosphere but other than that nothing gameplay wise, same with the "pythark"(wut), which is a generic python like serpent.

This seems super cool and an actual reason to go underwater! it also has a relatively unique design, But the lack of abilities and drops shown currently honestly turns me off the idea of it quite a bit, but if a full fledged idea of it with abilities, drops, spawn areas, etc was done it would be quite nice. Rather cute too

His exact question was: "Why not make a creature like weeping angles?"
Wouldn't you agree that a mob with the mechanic of Weeping Angels from Doctor Who and Boo from Mario, namely that the mob only moves while no-one sees them, would be quite interesting on its own?
What the mob would look like? Who (or boo) knows? It could technically be anything at this point. Make it a Dolphin on a unicycle wielding a chainsaw for all I care.
I am sure someone has a better idea.
Sure. But until someone suggests something better, I won't be confirming any plans around it.

I'm sorry, but I won't be considering these ideas. You've taken some real animals and given them some defense mechanisms from other real animals. The only mechanic that I was interested in was the priming and igniting areas of ground. But why would an earth-themed serpent have this ability? The ideas just don't have the interest and direction I need in my mobs. Sorry.

Well, I didn't want to mention it before, but this is fairly similar to a storm-themed flying serpent boss I have planned for extreme hill peaks: another reason I can't accept it.
But you've asked a fair question, I'll see if I can explain.
You begin your idea by introducing a flaming serpent. I'm already skeptical because long, serpent like mobs are nearly impossible to program well in Minecraft; of course, I'm no stranger to challenges like this so I'm still open to the idea at this point.
Then you say that it is a neutral mob that is only aggressive when you approach it. This means it is an aggressive mob. You have described aggressive mob behavior. Still, just a semantics issue.
Now you introduce the idea of genders, rankings, and babies. You lose me here. This mob is supposed to be a new combat opponent in the world. Why do you feel its design needed female and baby variants? The differentiation doesn't play into the encounter; females behave the same as males, and babies simply ignore the player.
Now we see that there is a boss version of the serpents as well. Having different versions of the same mob with different strengths is a strong sign of indecisiveness in design (unless this property is directly tied to the mob's mechanics, as with slimes). Pick one: is your mob a boss, or is it a basic enemy? You could make the case that the boss encounter involves fighting groups of weaker serpents along with the main serpent as a mechanic. But again, one has to justify this design choice by explaining mechanically WHY this encounter needs to involve many weaker enemies.
Furthermore, neither of these mechanics are relevant to your design choices. You are designing a flaming serpent. What does mammalian family structure, mob-swarm encounters, or postmortem resurrection have to do with either of these initial design choices? Designing a mob is not a game of Mad Libs. Every choice must be incredibly deliberate and justifiable.
As for the biome choice, once again, pick one. I don't want to encounter the same mobs in the Nether and the Overworld. It lessens the atmospheric contrast between the two realms. But then again, I don't think either biome is appropriate for a flying, flaming serpent. I don't feel that flying, flaming serpents would be atmospherically appropriate for mountainous regions. Mountains make me think of clouded peaks and earthen terrain. It's a shame that Minecraft has no volcano regions. The Nether already has large, flying, fire-shooting ghasts populating is more open areas. There's no niche in the game world for this idea.
The attacks you've designed are simply two melee attacks and a projectile. They're nothing we haven't seen before, and they don't work together to create a more interesting experience for the player. And now we've introduced poison damage in the boss version's fight "sometimes"? I thought these were fire themed mobs.
So now we're discussing this resurrection ability as a mechanic for creating a second phase to the boss fight. Cool. This would be great if the mob's design had something to do with death magic, healing abilities, or resurrection. A phoenix-like boss would be a great place for this mechanic; phoenix's are already associated with resurrection, and translating this association into a tangible game mechanic would make for strong design.
The boss drops an egg, which you can hatch into your own flameserpent. I don't have much issue with this, but I just wish the drop had more to do with the encounter or mob design itself.
It's kinda neat, but what does it do? I'm not so keen on making mobs based on vanilla mobs.
I am posting this out in the open, because of team craftland is very interested in your work and therefore all of your mods and not only the Mowzies mobs. The project craftland nevertheless is no forge project. Instead we are using a fully custom coded api for our mods, which brings me to the point of this. Would we be allowed to alter your code to make it run on our server? There is no interest in selling your work out or having your work appear as ours. The credit is of course all yours.
We are happy to say that in the past we earned the trust of modders like the guilded games (Aether), Silentine (Grimoire of Gaia), Harvestcraft (Pams) and quite some others.
Please think about it, we would need your ok, because of we are running modded server for 7 years now and this cannot be achieved without the option to make it work and code fixes and dependencies.
One last thing we would like to ask, what tools did you use to create those marveles animations of your mobs?
Regards
Soulmusician
Hi Soulmusician,
I'm afraid you're a bit confused. I'm the owner of this mod, iLexiconn and Pau101 just help me out from time to time. I'd appreciate it if you would message me privately about this request. I need to fully understand what this would entail.
This is one of the best ideas to come out of this forum, the design is supreme.
Not only because of that but of the potential too, now i think most of you know that update aquatic is rolling out on spring and by the look of it it has changed the oceans forever making them alive like never before, but one key feature that isn't planned for the update is ocean threats.
With this update the waters will offer many gifts like turtles giving you their helmet for infinite underwater respiration or the trident that is going to be found in the ruins or boats.
Initially when the mob contest was open there was the possibility to implement a giant octupus like creature probably used to defend the underwater treasures and add more stakes wich are needed in the game but after the phantom winned the possibility of an enemy perished.
The ocean shoudn't be a playground it should envoke fear and perplexity on those who wonder in it.
So this my take on your idea:
TITAN the prehistoric beast
Lurking in the deepest parts of the oceans this massive creature illuminates it's sorroundings with its bioluminiscent eye and defends the ruins of ancient city's that it appropriates for territory.
Its armored body impenetrable even by the most noble of swords protects it against heavy damage, it charges it photonic eye bulb to shoot a devastaing ray that desintegrates anything it touches, the only thing capable of damaging it is the sacred trident but even with it, it takes unimaginable skill to perform such a thing.
Often traversing the ocean you might stamble upon one of its offspring small sized, insatiable minions scattered around the seabed incapable of using their killer eye but very capable of inflicting damage with their mouths.
If you were to find the remaining of a Titan it wold indicate that another one is close, the more you approach its home the more minions you find and the more endengered you become.
As a last warning a Titan's cry can be heard from far away.
If you are unfortunute it will open its enormous mouth and suck you in along with everything the lethal bubble tornado can reach, and if you repent the decision of challenging it and cowardly hide in the ruins it will simply destroy them with its laser.
The prize for winning is its eye wich can be used in many....many ways.
Also you get a chance to explore its rare breeding grounds and find loot.
Extra: There is a very slim chance of encountering the Titan swimming casually far from its territory.
In villages you can find a manuscript of a failed attempt to hunt a Titan.
If your riding a boat above a minion it will effortlessly break it.
Titan's hard plates are undoubtely used for armor.
Titan's anatomy suggests that it is a very old cousin of the temple guardians.
I really hope Mowzie accepts the idea otherwise i woudn't have putted any thought into it, also the minions are a perfect way to introduce a common predator in the water.
If there are any grammatical imperfections i mind you i am italian.
I'm afraid this sounds like a more powerful guardian mob that can break blocks and can only be killed with a certain weapon. I'm not seeing what new features this brings to the game. Sorry.
Well what a bummer but i would really like you to reconsider the idea, altering it to make it unique maybe when It sucks you in with its mouth It could teleport you in a pocket dimension that represents his innerds and destroying his pulsating heart would kill It, obviously It would be guarded by the Titans antibodies.
Inside It you would also find everything It has devoured the rests of animals and treasures.
That's basically just modular bosses sand worm in every way other than having less unique abilities.

You make a fair question. i've been reconsidering the "Story" of how these mobs were created, and their AIs, and i've come up with some stuff.
For one, different variations (Male, Female, Boss, baby) have different AIs. for one, Males will constantly try to bite you. Females will shoot fire at you, but will RUTHLESSLY pummel you with attacks if you get near a Baby, which will always run away. the Boss has the same AI as i mentioned (IK giant, worm-like mobs are hard to make :/ but they made an ender dragon tail) but has a different story, along with the rest of the species.
Re-made story:
Ages ago, a great, powerful dark wizard ruled the land, and all who dared approach him were slaughtered by his evil magic. before his demise, he created a monster no-one had ever heard of.
The Hellserpents.
These Burning Creatures, Infused with Shadow Magic, were created to attack any who come near them. but when the wizard died, they were left on their own. due to their reason for existance, they dig their fangs into any hero who attempts to slay the beasts. However, after being driven out by the stronger, bigger species of Dragons, they were forced to enter the nether, and prey on ghasts and pigman.
(Spawns in a minibiome known as the "Hellserpent's Den", no ghasts or Pigman can spawn near it) during world generation, 5 normal Hellserpents (usually a baby, 2 males and 2 females) and the Boss. the Boss will assault you with attacks, while the other Hellserpents will attack, and distract, you.
The boss has enough dark magic inside of it to revive itself, even after death. here comes a new bit >:D
After defeating it once so it ressurects, it gains a buff for 5 minutes. when the timer ends, it turns back into the 1st phase, thus sending the player back to square one.
Another Monster Idea!!!
The Enchanted Guardian
This is a unique boss that spawns in its own structure. it starts off as an empty room, but when you enter, the 5 blocks in the center (in a cross pattern) Float into the ground, and form into a stony beast. (YES, YES, i know its like stone talus and EVERY other boss where it forms out of materials, but bear with me here)
Attacks:
Stone Fist: The stone resembling its fist flies at you, untill it hits you or a wall. deals heavy damage and ruins armor.
Orbital Fist: Spins its fists around itself so fast that touching it is dangerous, and acts as a shield. (Can be broken with explosives or a pickaxe.)
Golem Spiral: all 5 blocks form into a pillar, lay onto the ground, and start spinning. either get to the corner of the room or play some jumprope with a giant stone golem.
Weakness: Pickaxes
Hitting it with pickaxes is the best way to kill it. its made of stone, pickaxes mine stone, ultimate weapon.
2nd Phase: After its 4 limbs being broken off, the Eye on the main block (it has one) goes into an angry position, and 4 obsidian blocks fly over to it, thus replacing its limbs with a far more durable substance. this phase can only be damaged with a diamond weapon/pickaxe. all attacks now also light you on fire.
3rd Phase: the block starts glowing red, and charges insanely quickly at you. dodge this/survive this, and you win. (the eye goes into a suprised position, then it explodes, maybe dropping the Earth Talisman?)
soo.. i hope thats a good review of my mob idea and new mob idea in general i understand if you don't agree, but please atleast consider its possibilities!

Also, what were the other dragons that scared them off?

You're completely correct, a 4 tailed Red Chinese-Style dragon with a flaming tail, but a more "American" Head. the smaller ones have one tail.
And those "Other Dragons"... you'll notice a lot of people like to play this mod with "Ice and Fire: Dragons in a Whole New Light!" so i was thinking of those, but the Ender Dragon could be said dragon, as ender creatures have the ability to travel through dimentions.
That would be more unique, but I don't know how to program this. Modular Bosses has a similar feature, if you're looking to add something like this to your game.

I'm afraid these changes don't resolve the issues I have with the mob. Sorry.
I'm afraid the boss that grants the Earth Talisman has already been decided on. I do plan to add some sort of golem mob, though.
I like the idea of having to jump over spinning block patterns. But my problem with the Enchanted Guardian is the obsidian phase. It's not fun to make players fight through half the bosses health only to find that the last phase is not damageable because they don't have a diamond pickaxe on them. Also, it's a bit weird to have an earth-themed mob deal fire damage.
When you find this mysterious creature it'll look like stone, but when you get close it'll flare out of the stone and attack.
Attacks:
1st Attack - It'll try to hit you.
2nd Attack - Spits poison(10seconds of poison IV) on you. -Note: You can easily dodge the attack.
3rdAttack - It'll try to spit layers of poison(5seconds of poison III if you hit the poison layers) around the player.(So the player gets trapped)
4thAttack - It'll breathe it's poison(25seconds of poison I) out of the mouth, so that the player can only see the green from the poison, while the player can't see the Basilisk will attack with its four front legs.(This is not a one shot kill attack)
- Note: You can escape the 4th attack by trying to hit the Basilisk while you are blinded. If you manage to hit the Basilisk once, the Basilisk's failed the attack.
- It is immune to poison.
- It lives in swamp biomes.
Hope you liked my idea! Btw, if you don't like the name, feel free to change it.
This is pretty good. It's coherent and the attacks work well in conjuction with one another. I'll hold on to it, thanks.
On a side note, to fool you, there should be fake, actual statue basilisks so that you are never sure which one is which.

That is a good idea, but the lore would have to explain it somehow. Perhaps along the lines of "The Basilisks were an ancient race of creatures. Very powerful, and near unbeatable in combat, the reigned at the top of the food chain, for years, preying on villagers and animals alike. After many years, ancient mages, who arts were long forgotten, used powerful magic that drew upon the aether itself, to imprison them in stone. On some it worked, imprisoning them for all eternity. But on others, the magic only worked partially. The were imprisoned for many years, oh yes, but their magic bonds are weakening, and can snap when the are enraged by the scent of the descendant of those who worked that magic on them, those long years ago."

I'm sorry, but the idea is just too disjointed. You've attached many unrelated features to this mob to the point where it serves no real purpose in gameplay or atmosphere. I'm going to have to turn it down.
This is not a Doctor Who mod. I hope to establish my own fiction with Mowzie's Mobs and so I don't add characters or monsters from other works.
Sorry, I'm just extremely busy with school. I haven't dropped the project, its just not a priority right now.
Inspiration is very different from direct copying. Don't be afraid to suggest something just because it was inspired by something else.

(sorry if i seem a bit tense, my school schedule is CRAP because of 3 days of heavy coughing, and a lack of ability to get on my PC for school.)
haha unoriginal signature go brr
I don't know if you remember me BobMowzie, but its been awhile, I was wondering if my concept is good enough to be on the mod, I'm fixing to model and texture it while giving it a ai, I based it off of the one eyed Giant fossil and called a "Guardiathan" (It's now EnderMysterious rather than EnderPrince01 to be more unique) Id like to contribute it to the mod heres what it looks like, I drew it btw :
That thing looks really cool!
The vanilla guardians method of attack is a laser beam and thorns that hurt you when you hurt it, so perhaps this mobs attack methods could be;
A: Aiming at where the player is after swimming a short distance away, taking around 6 seconds to charge up, then, a small laser would fire, and make a small chunk of water hurt you and quickly propel you upwards out of the water.
Sound good?

Yea, the main idea was it lashed out with its jaws tearing everything apart, plus its tail reveals spikes when in attack mode, when not attacking the player, it eats squids
Any info on the new mobs?

Sorry. I hope this helps.
No need to apologize!
It's kinda neat, but what does it do? I'm not so keen on making mobs based on vanilla mobs.
No. Development has halted while I focus on school and personal projects.
Hi Soulmusician,
I'm afraid you're a bit confused. I'm the owner of this mod, iLexiconn and Pau101 just help me out from time to time. I'd appreciate it if you would message me privately about this request. I need to fully understand what this would entail.
I'm afraid this sounds like a more powerful guardian mob that can break blocks and can only be killed with a certain weapon. I'm not seeing what new features this brings to the game. Sorry.
That's basically just modular bosses sand worm in every way other than having less unique abilities.
