Mowzie's Mobs 1.2.0 is ready! The Ferrous Wroughtnaut is completely functional in survival mode, complete with drops. See the OP for details.
Two important announcements: Mowzie's Mobs now requires Llibrary to run, and it is only for single player mode (a multiplayer version will be ready in about two weeks).

Weapon of the Wroughtnought, an entry from the journal of explorer Areal Name.
It turns out the tome I was reading earlier had some inaccuracies. The original wroughtnoughts, originally designed as guards, appear to have been abandoned by Mows-eye, left to rust in specially prepared underground caverns1. A good idea, unless you count on players finding them and being attacked by them. That solved the mystery of what it was doing in the odd place, though not what I was going to do about it. Should I leave it, and let chance have the final say, or should I eliminate it once and for all? Then I remembered the axe. No way was I going to pass up a perfectly good weapon like that. I swear I get happier just thinking about smashing it into some random zombies head. Anyway, after going into the area where I heard the earlier noise, only to be unable to find the exact location, Eventually I had to find it through the use of a dubious piece of technology known as "X-ray", although after finding it, it became instantly clear why I had such difficulty. The room was both underground, which I already suspected, but also completely locked off from any cave, multiplying the difficulty by an order of magnitude (I love that term, it makes everything sound so scientific). Anyway, after finding it, I entered the room, instantly seeing what appeared to be a large statue in the middle of the room. At least I originally believed it was a statue. I thought differently when it swung it's axe at me. After engaging the golem in combat I first thought it was too easy. Then it clipped me with the axe, and brought me down to half-life. I took it more seriously after that. Oddly enough after successfully striking it, the wroughtnought seemed to require several seconds to find me again. After finally killing the beast by "" (sorry, spilled mustard on that part), I was disappointed to find nothing salvageable. Somewhat disheartened, I tried again with a different one, with the same result. I thought that stupidly unfair. I had just looked through who knows how many godforsaken caves, fought two giant, semi-invincible, walking suits of armor, and had absolutely nothing to show for it.2 At least until I stole the stuff from somebody else. Then I felt better. After getting home I decided to try the gear out immediately. The axe was almost as fun as I had expected. I could swing it like a sword, as well as in a sweep to hit multiple mobs at once. I would have been in heaven, if only the axe had actually looked like it was sweeping, rather than just doing the same animations the normal hit. That took a lot of the satisfaction out of it. Still rather happy about it. I tried on the helmet, which looked cool for about five seconds until I realized that it went under my skin (picture below). Still, aside from that little flaw, it was quite intimidating, as well as useful, with a protection only half a piece below diamond.
1The tome does mention that Mows-eye did not completely abandon the idea, instead choosing alternate methods. Oddly enough, the book has no more writing of it, aside from some vague notes in the margins about gems, armor stands, and helmets.
2Please, please change the drop rate
In other news I found a madman in the jungle earlier today. He was jumping up and down, and repeatedly thanking and saying prayers to Mows-eye (odd coincidence that) for something about adding "the mob remover", although he also asked him, "why does it only worked on left click, rather than on both left and right?". I didn't hear much more than that, since I moved away quickly, fearing whatever he had was contagious.
A hallucination mob could be cool. It's very near invisible and if you get near it, it creates things that aren't there. It might show hostile mobs that just stand still, if you're in a cave it'll show diamond ore, and chests (everyone loves snooping in random chests). If you interact with any of these things by trying to kill them, break them, or opening them, it'll trigger the mob to attack and go opaque and attack you while you're busy trying to figure out why the mobs aren't dying, the block isn't breaking, and the chest isn't opening. The mob could drop something as well that could be used in crafting of a 1-way block or something like that.

1. I can't make them connect to caves. I simply don't have a clue how. For the record, they are as common as vanilla dungeons.
2. The pause after damaging cannot be fixed, I tried. I don't think it's severe enough to be a problem though.
3. What?? No drops? I set it to 100% drop rate for both items! I'll take a look.
4. I can't override player animations without causing incompatibilities with a ton of mods.
5. Whoops. Easy fix.
6. Just deal with left clicking. Does it really matter?
A hallucination mob could be cool. It's very near invisible and if you get near it, it creates things that aren't there. Again, that sounds much more annoying than fun... It's like "Server Lag: The Mob!".

I was thinking of maybe a mimic creature with a cool model that doesn't actually jump around but more walks at you like in Dark Souls, if you know what i mean
Could you tell me the class name for Ferrous Wroughnaut entity (like the mowziesmobs.entity.mumbojumbo kind of stuff)? I want to add it on Morph's mod blacklist for mobs that won't be morphable because when I defeated it, the mob disappeared while the death sound played (as I absorb the mob to get the morph) and it won't drop anything (happened for every wroughtnaut I defeated)

Drops are broken in this build; a fix is coming soon. Morph overrides the death animation, so mine won't play. I don't use regular ModelRenderers, so the black boxes won't appear. The morph works besides that.
...Except that the walk animation won't play and you are continually pushed diagonally for some reason. The class is com.bobmowzie.mowziesmobs.common.entity.EntityWroughtnaut.

Primitive mobs has one already. It hops, but I don't see the point of adding another just to give it legs.

Yeah, when I tried to use the morph, it won't animate and I moved by itself.
Anyway, thanks for the help! I'll be waiting for the fix.

Not only in primative mobs, but I've also seen things like this in several other mods, such as Aether II if I remember correctly
OK I am having multiple problems. First off the ferrous nautraught cant hurt me AT ALL. i dont have armor or any potions but its axe just fazes right through me. Am i the only one with this problem or is something wrong with the mod. Also when i kill the ferrous raughtnaut it doesn't drop anything just dies. Overall its a great mod with great animations.
Hoohoo!
Update!
did this gonna have a 1.8 version ?
Animation API needs to update first.
Are you making mobs on the list in order?

I got the same exact crash as the person above whenever I tried to open my inventory in survival or press F5.
I didn't hear much more than that, since I moved away quickly, fearing whatever he had was contagious.
did the new animation api for jurassicraft is ready ?
Not at all. In fact, I might not make some of them and I might make some that aren't on the list.
I'll look into this right away, thanks.
It works differently. Switching to it will take a lot of work and might not retain the same functionality.
Again, that sounds much more annoying than fun... It's like "Server Lag: The Mob!".
I think this is a Jurassicraft issue with the new Llibrary. Both of you have Jurassicraft installed, yes?
Still remember the monolith...?
My big boy Ender Fang -
"Creativity defies logic and common sense but yield unexpected and surprising ideas and results"
-Black_Saturn
And also the Vault Keeper...
Yeah, when I tried to use the morph, it won't animate and I moved by itself.
Anyway, thanks for the help! I'll be waiting for the fix.
did grammar gonna have yes?
there probably will be a 1.8 version, but most mods haven't updated yet, and it's way more fun to use mods together than using one mod with 1.8.
Not only in primative mobs, but I've also seen things like this in several other mods, such as Aether II if I remember correctly
My Mods:
Fool's gold & other dumb things
Placebo Effect
Two others that I am pretending don't exist.
Also, Modding Theory.
Yeah, I figured you wouldn't do the entire idea, just hoping you could get ideas from it. But lizard people sound good enough for me :3
OK I am having multiple problems.
