I have a bug with the 1.8 version (I know the 1.8 version is buggy, but i'd appreciate if you could take a look at it). When I enable the clock hud, and the bed icon is present (it's night), and I go on a menu (the pause menu for example) the background is black (if I look close into the pixels on my monitor, it's fuzzing).

This is a pretty cool mod, will there be bugfixes?
This is to everyone asking about bugs they've found also: I'm going to be making a big push in the next few days (hopefully it only takes a few days...) to fix as many bugs as possible and try to release a 1.2.1 update for 1.8. Most of the problems arise from item rendering being changed a lot internally, meaning it's near impossible to render items anywhere apart from where they're already rendered in vanilla. You'll notice in 1.2 that's why I had to replace the icons in breeding info, because I couldn't find a way to reliably render items. All the item rendering methods are hundreds of lines long, and don't allow any sort of customisation to fit your needs. I can only hope it's made easier soon.
As for the features that have been suggested by several people, I like some of them, and might be working on them soon. However, my main priority right now is bugs, since there are so many - no guarantees on whether or not I can fix anything, though. Any new features will likely be in a 1.2.2 update or any later update.
(I especially like the raindrops and drops after getting out of water.)
Bug: if item enchanted, can't see anything in 'holding:' and chat say OpenGL Error: 1283(Stack overflow)
version:minecraft1.8
mod version:1.2
forge version:1487
I can't reproduce this error. Looked at someone holding an enchanted tool and there was no error, could you give some more information? Any crash report in the log, other errors, what item the person was holding, system specs and so on.
Can I include this mod in my ModPack? Becouse I've read the Legal Stuff part, but here's nothing there that talks about modpacks exactly. As far as I understood, I can't. Right?

Sorry it's not clear, you're allowed to add this mod to modpacks. Requirements are that you must include a link back to the original post of this forum thread, and full credit must be given.
Would you be able to add a option to show 'weight' from iquana tweaks. Iquana tweaks shows teh weight on f3 screen but would be cool to have it right in hud somewhere. If thats not possible thats cool.

I don't know how I would do that, there appears to be very little documentation surrounding making your mods interact with other mods. If I can find a way, this would most likely be quite easy to implement. If I can't find a way, there's nothing I can really do.

I've used this for about 10 minutes, and its a very good concept, but it would be nice for some more.. location options, as a lot of the HUD's elements overlaps/underlaps other mods that I use regularly.
Also, I should have taken your "Buggy" hint as more than just "here an there". There are a few bugs I did find.
the background would go dark gray hiding the game and the chat box changes to a black background, and apparently is happening with the clock enabled.
Another which is happening now, is the sign reader, the visual would flash in and out, every second, and VoxelMap flashes as well, but it fades in/out. It appears to happen when I have hunger indicator enabled.

Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again because a vision softly creeping left its seeds while I was sleeping and the vision that was planted in my brain still remains within the sound of silence

I agree with you that more location options are definitely necessary. Such an implementation may require that everyone delete their configuration files (really wish I had included a version number in those so I could have backwards-compatibility...) - anyway, I'll likely split up the mode for each element into two sections - position and mode. Position will feature any applicable position-related parts for that element, in addition to a "custom" option allowing you to specify screen coordinates. That's what I'm thinking anyway.
As far as bugs go, the same bug has been reported a couple times already. I have a fix waiting around in source ready to go, I just need to get around to cleaning up and putting together a 1.2.1 bugfix release. So far in this version I've fixed several bugs people experienced (including some I found myself while fixing other bugs), and added a new element: Full Inventory Indicator, which just shows a piece of text on the screen when you have a full inventory (referring to no empty slots, not all full stacks). One thing I want to get done before release is fixing the light level, if I can work it out.
... Phew. Lots to say, had a couple of big dev days.
EDIT: I must admit, the initial 1.8 version was in no state to be played. I had been labouring away for a while, trying to get a stable release, and I may have neglected testing a little bit. Luckily you guys are awesome testers and report all the bugs you find!
Several crashes have been fixed, and the light level indicator is now correct - it takes day and night into account. Several other things have also been fixed, including the incorrect naming on block viewer.
This update is almost all bugfixes, but I recommend anyone using 1.2 for 1.8 update as it will make their experience much, much more stable.
One feature that has been added is Full Inventory Indicator, a new element. It displays text on the side of the screen when your inventory has no empty slots remaining.
Sadly, due to limitations in vanilla Minecraft's source code, breed indicator is no longer able to show a countdown for breeding. Instead, it now shows a tick or a cross depending on whether or not an animal can currently be fed its breeding item.
Downloads will be on the original post shortly! Thanks for all your bug reports, they are the main content of this update.
NukeDuck the 1.7 version is still creating the config file in the wrong place and with the wrong name on linux.
Instead of being created in config is created in the game directory as config/hud.txt.
Haven't tried 1.8 version yet.
Sorry, when I saw your error I thought you were on 1.8, guess I can't read. Anyway, 1.1b for 1.7.10 fixes this issue, nothing else. Download is on the original post! (P.S. it's not 100% guaranteed to fix it, but it definitely should fix it. I don't have a Linux test system to run it on, so I can't really know for sure.)
Edit. Apparently there was a Mod library from a old mod and it was causing Betterhud errors.
Can you please make it possible to move the elements. I have a minimap and other stuff, and I'd use this mod if I could move it wherever I wanted.

Hello!
I have a couple bugs I would like to report for version 1.2 of BetterHUD:
I also have a few features I would like to suggest should you manage to get the bugs sorted out:
Thank you for the most excellent mod!

This is a really good mod. But i would like to see a LiteLoader version. I like it more for client-side mods like this.
This is a pretty cool mod, will there be bugfixes?

UPDATE: 1.2.1 for 1.8 is now out!
You may have to delete your configuration file if your game crashes while starting up (hud.txt).
1.2.1 is mainly a bugfix update, but boy does it fix a lotta bugs. Full changelog can be found here: http://pastebin.com/embed_iframe.php?i=v66Pp2Ci
