Is there any chance that the lock command could come to 1.7.10 having a way for people to lock their chests would be awesome. Oh and doors would be cool too...a sort of LWC (the bukkit plugin) lite
Unfortunately locks weren't added to inventories until 1.8, so no, it's not possible. Also, doors can't be locked in vanilla.
Hey, it's just a regular forge-generated config file.
The way the config files work is they have a main category (add_wold_gen), and sub-categories (like underground, at the bottom beneath the big comment describing how to add underground world gen). The < and > after underground mean that it is a list, and the S: before it means that it is a list of strings (not strictly numbers). To add entries, put them between the < and >.
OK, so inside the existing config file, I'll look for S: underground <>, and then put the line inside those brackets (<>)?
I noticed the example had a lot of separate files, is that just an older method?
In the ruby obession example? That is an addon that is separate from the config files and goes in the addons/Loot++ folder.
Basically, the entries in those files are used like additions to the config files (but loaded separately). The config file they represent is the name of the folder they are in, and the section of the config is the file name.
I do think you or someone else needs to update the wiki. It doesn't really show much of anything. And this would save you a lot of the headache of dealing with nagging forum-goers like myself.
Just a one more and I should be out of your hair.
- How do I add multiple effects? I tried adding another line inside of underground <>, but it just crashes. Wasn't sure if I need a dividing character of sorts. Might try again with a comma.

You do just add each on a new line. What exactly did you write? Also what is the crash report for the crash (post it here in a spoiler)?

Does it cause the lag if it's the only mod and you have no addons?
lucky block, lucky, block emerald and lucky block spiral(1.9) and lucky block rainbow, ive switched to loot++ 1.4 and its still giving 40,000 ms+ server lag
EDIT: going to loot++ 1.2 fixes the issue, all the blocks i use require 1.1+ so thats fine

Ah, it's caused by the emerald lucky block. Go into the zip file, and find the file config/item_effects/command_held.txt and delete it. It should run just fine then.
I discovered that when playing with emerald lucky blocks myself. I told the guy who made emerald lucky blocks about it a while ago, but he hasn't responded...

I'm 95% sure the syntax I'm using is right in the chest config yet when I try to place the chest down however, the game crashes. When I log back in, the chest is there with the loot. This happens every time.
Found out a bit more. The syntax doesn't seem to be the issue, because if I change coal_ore to something like coal__ore, it tries to generate but says it can't be found.
Checking the error report, I am getting a StackOverflowError: Exception while updating neighbours.
Blocks seem to be recursively referring to themselves or each other from what I gather.
I tried to post my crash log, but since this is a recursive error, it exceeded the 120,000 character limit of the site. It is an extremely repetitive file.

Has any part of the syntax changed for adding drops to blocks in Loot++ in the latest 1.7.10 version (0.23) since version 0.18?
If not, minecraft:gravel drop additions seem to be broken.
Adding vanilla item drops to it, like the gold nugget example work fine, but when I remove its own drop to replace it with any modded drop, including Loot++ added items, it doesn't drop them in 0.23, but in 0.18 the same config works like a charm, so I know it's not my syntax (unles it has been updated) but all the other blocks I've tested work fine updating to it tho so I'm assuming it hasn't been.
I remember having this issue a while back already trying to update to the latest version and had it do the very same thing and at the time I was content just to leave the old version on the server. But now, all the new amazing features of the latest versions are just to much to pass up, hence why I'm on here looking for a solution.
This mod is pure gold tho. There isn't any kind of mod that gets me more excited than ones that offer detailed creative control over game design.

I've had this happen with the custom hellship chest from Fossils and Archeology for quite a few releases now, even with a blank config. The chest is fine spawning in the world naturally but doesn't like to be placed. It's still happening for me in 0.23, but all my other ones are working as they should, including ones from other mods. It's just that specific one for me.
Help! I have forge for 1.8, I've downloaded the mod and when I tried it, nothing happened. The commands don't work. Nothing. Forge doesn't even say I've downloaded a new mod. HELP!

This mod seems really cool. I really like zzzzz custom configs, and this seems really similar, except I personally like the syntax of zzzzz better.
I'm trying to figure out how to use this, however. The information is really sparse, and seems to say "Add this text", but it doesn't tell you where.
For instance, one of my favorite configs is having glowstone spawn as an ore in the overworld, lighting up caves and such.
I erased what was currently in world_gen.cfg, and put this:
And after I ran it, it just deleted everything and placed the original info back in.
So I tried just adding that beneath all the commentary, and it did exactly the same thing.
So where does it go? What is the context?

Wasn't planning on using this, but then I read about the addons. Going to use this now.
Minecraft forge fails to load this mod in 1.8.9 because the mod asks for 1.8 and it detects this refusing to run.
