since armor stands where added in 14w32a, people have been making camp fires with armor stands, boats, lava, and a bunch of other stuff, but now I have made an easy way to get them into your world.
Introducing: the Redstone Mod!
redstone mods are the vanilla equivalent of mods, an mcedit schematic containing command blocks and redstone that creates the feel of a mod
this is one for campfires, but I have many more planned
not only does this look really cool, but you can actually cook food by right clicking with it with the food you want to cook (you cannot cook rabbit because killing bunnies is cruel)
To craft, you use 3 sticks, 3 logs, and a flint and steel or lava bucket in a dropper, then stand on the dropper
you can't simply break it in survival mods, so, to remove, first harvest the stone slab and lava, craft those into a remover, and right click with it right next to the armor stands
This is not a mod, it's a redstone machine. A mod is a "modification" to the games code to make changes to the game itself, this uses vanilla mechanics to add items and custom blocks. So while this is a cool use of command blocks and redstone, this is not a mod, and does not belong it the modding section.
This very clever. It is vanilla and not a mod but it tests the very limit of vanilla, which can only really be obtained by using mcedit. I would like to see a tutorial video about it because there is not many videos on how to do this kind of thing. There is also other clever techniques used by the mcedit community to create things like this with world files(which is great) which is something you could use to improve this clever vanilla invention and this is shown in this video that someone made of their map: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/vanilla-rc-helicopter/ Videos:
Keep up the good work!
I'd be willing to call these types of things "Vanilla Plugins" instead of mods. While they don't change anything to the game itself, it does require some knowledge to "install"/create them.

Cats
but this is not a normal mod, instead of using forge, it is a schematic file that you import using mcedit or an other worldedit program
