I can take over sound production, but what do you use to make the siren model/3D renders?
Not sure as of now, I did start updating it and I got most of the easy stuff out of the way, but the 1.7 to 1.8 update was so huge on everything. The block code has been completely re-written and so has the rendering code, so I have to dig a bit deeper to get the models to work. Like I said though, don't expect a bug free release soon
I have a serverside crash that's kicking me out of my singleplayer world. It happens when I place multiple sirens over different chunks and try to activate them using Wireless Redstone - ChickenBones' Edition
Here's the log, the crash takes place at line 2118 (Ignore the NEI stuff, it was spitting garbage): https://paste.ee/p/aIADw#2137

Does it produce a crash report?
If so, post that here.

Sorry for the late reply.
It didn't create a dedicated crash report, but it did dump this crash output to my MultiMC console output after it crashed the game's internal server.

I have this bug as well. You have to load the chunks that the sirens are in, otherwise the game will crash.
So, try not to have a huge siren system spanning hundreds of blocks in radius.

It's a strange bug, it even crashes when the chunks the sirens are in are being loaded by chunkloaders.
Hopefully the dev will come back at some point in the future and fix this issue

Maybe you have to be in range of the siren's sound radius.
I tried the first version that worked on 1.7.10 and nothing happened when I activated sirens in unloaded chunks. They just stayed silent.
Hey, I think I have found a bug, Me and my friend played minecraft on a modded server, but for some reason he gets disconnected whenever I turn on a siren or him turn on a siren, example: Player A turns on a siren then others like Player B and C and so on gets disconnected but if Player B turns a siren on it causes Player A and Player C, E and so on getting disconnected, the game does not crash, it is just that it that they get disconnected from the server.
Great mod btw.
Sorry but no log did I found now, I can see if I can ask my friend to give me the log to you. Fix it please and it is appreciated. Trying to use it to my nuclear power plant.
I reported a similar problem. Turns out it's being caused by the sirens not properly playing sound outside of the chunks they're placed in. There's really no workaround for this bug, we just have to use less sirens.
Well, "We just have to use less sirens." It pretty much ruins the mod, if you want to alert people about a nuclear explosion instead, kicked out. Pretty much ruins the RolePlay etc
I know, and it's unfortunate. This mod's code is on GitHub, so if anybody here with any Java experience wants to try fixing this bug, that'd be nice.
Alright. Now, looking at the mod, it seems to be nearly totally off-realism, so what I'd like to say here is to make the contents are realistic as possible (i.e. the sirens parts, etc.), so here's my suggestions :
1. Remove Nuclear Siren (or if possible, replace it with another siren, e.g. Federal Signal EOWS 612, occupying 3x3 blocks. If you'd like to put an EOWS 612, I'd recommend you to make it 3 blocks high, 2 blocks span (from tip of a horn on the right side to the other tip of another horn in the same row on the other side) and 1/2 blocks thick (the driver housing))
2. Make the T-121 larger. This is to match its real scale. The siren must occupy 9 blocks wide, which means a full 8 horn layout is possible.
3. Rename the General Siren with Carter Air Raid Siren (note that Carter and Gents are two separate siren companies which never combine.) The siren's base size MUST NOT exceed the motor, and the siren's motor must be about 3/4 of a block wide. The choppers must be a very slight more than 1/2 of a block wide and the height of a block. The siren must occupy 1 and a 1/2 block height and 3 blocks span (from chopper end to another chopper end) and 1 block wide.
4. Put in a siren controller. I'd recommend a different siren controller according to manufacturer and model. If possible, make it wirelessly controlled, which means by radio antennae. Like this : There must be an activation station / point just like Federal Signal's SS2000 or American Signal's CompuLert. It must be linked to an antennae, the antennae must be linked to the siren's controller and the siren's controller must be linked up to the siren.
Federal Signal SS2000 Main Activation Point
American Signal CompuLert CSC-960 Main Activation Point
Whelen E747 Main Activation Point
Also, according to Federal Signal's website, the SS2000+ can also broadcast Wave (.wav) sound files through Electronic sirens, but for the mod, make it also compatible to broadcast MP3 Song Files which players can put in their songs in. Make it able to be able to store custom audios, sound, signals and even songs, up to 10 of them. The Main Activation Point must occupy 2 blocks span and the original size of the SS2000 and the CSC960 is 1.5 blocks span, while the E747 is only occupying 1 block and only 1 block span.
5. Siren poles. It seems like the siren poles are too thin, though. try to make it thicker than a wooden fence.
6. Siren suggestion. Add in all 3 variations or Federal Signal DSA (DSA2, DSA4 and DSA6), Federal Signal 3T22A, Federal Signal Thunderbolt (4 variations, Thunderbolt 1000, Thunderbolt 1000T (4/5 Port & 5/6 Port), Thunderbolt 1003 & Thunderbolt 1000 Jailbar), B&N Mobil Directo (Gas Powered 8 Port, Electrical Powered 10/12 Port), Denver Siren and Federal Signal Modulator (MOD1 (MOD1004, 2008, 3012, 4016, 5020, 6024, 6032, and 8048) and MOD2 (MOD1004B, 2008B, 3012B, 4016B, 5020B, 6024B, 6032B, and 8048B) series (note that the B at the end of the MOD2 Series still refers to the MOD2 series))
FOOTNOTE :
I didn't have Minecraft or this mod, but my thoughts are gathered from me watching at the mods showcases. If my post is labelled as "Spam", it might be accidental. I'm not really used to this forum.

Never thought I'd find you here. But what else would you like to see added to this mod, other than the whole communication and remote control setup?

this would go great with a few mods, like the weather mod. i am using 1.8.9, i wish this mod is updated to 1.8.9 too!
Hello!, i want to know if you are working on an update for 1.10.2, and if you need beta testers for that, i volunteer.

Hello. I really like this mod and would love more sirens. If you need any testers I can be one. also I'm Canadian too
AFAIK, he isn't working on a 1.10.2 version. The 1.8 version may be out, maybe.
I want to see this mod continued.
