It improves the quality of shadows quite a bit, but I think I'll keep it in the Ultra version for now.

Is there a version for Mavericks? I don't want to update to Yosemite
yShaders should work in Mavericks, but it might not work properly. Give it a try, see how it goes. If it doesn't work try some older versions of yShaders which I know for a fact work in Mavericks. You can find older version download links on the download page.
I bet this is something obvious but what is
mavericks and Yosemite? Other than Yosemite being a national park...
PS to make this remotely on topic This is one of the best shaders I have ever used (a few bugs here and there but that's just because I am using mods that don't really like shaders...) and the fps are very good!
I made a Feed The Beast modpack! Simply type "Experiment812390" without quotes into the 3rD party codes area and you can see the mods list and install!

Every time i put on ANY shader it stays default minecraft the same thing happened with this one
For some weird reason the plants aren't waving in the ultra version or any other version, why is that happening?
i don't get a zip file when i download this
Could be a number of things. It could be an incompatibility with another mod, or it could be that your graphics drivers are outdated.
Try updating your graphics drivers. Also make sure that you are running the correct version of the shaders mod core. Also, if you have any other mods installed, they may be incompatible with shaders.
Then what exactly do you get?

Whenever I try to update my drivers it always says some error even though I downloaded the right one.
Well then it seems to be a problem with your computer. Find a way to update your drivers (Google usually helps), then try yShaders again.
