Hello how are you?
I believe that TConstruct-1.12.2-2.12.0.135 is causing an error "internal exception: java.nio.channels.closedchannelexception"
every time I try to get into my world single player, please if I can could review this ?!
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
A full log will be necessary to assess the error and find the cause. Please look in the .minecraft/logs folder to find the file latest.log, which contains the full error and anything that happened prior.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
It seems that the log indicates a lot of duplicate recipes, which can pose an issue though not related to the closedchannelexception. Either way, it seems like a temporary problem, so try joining your singleplayer world again, and see if it comes up again. Sometimes force-crashing the game (f3+C, hold for a few seconds) can help with debugging the problem.

I'd love to see this supposed 10x3x3, it is physically impossible
A Smeltery that is 10 blocks high and 3 blocks wide and deep should be possible for as far as I know...
Those are the inside dimensions, though. So the structure would be take up a space of 11x5x5 minus corners.

This mod, almost more than any other, including Thermal Expansion, Botania or even quark (my personal favorite), can most neatly and ideally fit the role of the cornerstone mod of nearly any modpack or any custom map theme. You can simply use it alone and experience enough content for months of entertainment, or you can use one or more of a myriad of community-contributed add-ons for TiC (as it's known) and any of the other thousands of compatible mods out there and become the architect and engineer of a megalithic modpack.
You don't need Tinker's Construct, of course. You can build a great modpack without it. But it makes Minecraft SO much more enjoyable, customizable and expansive, not to mention realistic and educational. So thank you to boni, Knightminer, alexbegt, fuj1n and last but certainly not least mDiyo from the bottom of my Minecraft-addicted heart. You guys and all the people who write compatible mods seriously pwn. =) <3
I found a mod recently that allows you to make Chisels using TConstruct. That made me wonder: are there mods which add even more TConstruct versions of mod-added tools? For example, a Forge Microblocks saw would be nice.

Yeah, imagine a manyullyn saw. Or a custom one with a paper handle and manyullyn blade, stacked to the brim with reinforced modifiers. I'd make endless microblocks.

Yesterday I tried throwing some old tools I made into lava to get rid of them. They turned out to be immune. Is this intended behavior? If yes, how do I even get rid of old tools? Just let them lie until they despawn, or are they despawn-immune as well? Throw them down from the End island?

There is a saw in JEI with TiC as of the latest versions of the mods for 1.12.2. Let me see what I'm using here...
aah, the saw is listed as a Tinker's Compendium item
it is made with a tool rod, a tough tool rod, and a binding
JEI 4.15.0.268
Tinkers JEI 1.2
Tinkers Construct 2.12.0.135
Tinkers Compendium (Tinkers Defense) 1.4.2.27.2
Just tested it out, though and the functionality of a forge microblocks saw does not appear to be there, although you may want to try it yourself since I don't have that mod (which I realized as I was writing this)

It probably requires FMB to have that function (FMB=ForgeMultiBlock (which does the microblock system))

after I removed the TContruct the error stopped!

Okay, I'll try, and if it does not work in a few days I'll post it here!
===== Edit =====
error persists!

I'm confused as to a lot of the changes sense 1.7... Like what happened to casting brownstone? Or oreberries? Or bounce pads...
That was TiC. This is TiC 2. Please consider anything that seems the same a coincidence.

Smeltery of 10×3×3 outside dimensions is also possible.
In fact, the absolute smallest Smeltery you could build is 3×3×2.
I put TConstruct-1.12.2-2.12.0.123 and the problem stopped!

I am most certainly enjoying this mod. Still ways to make unbreakable tools. Which makes it so much more amazing.
