I can't do anything about the sitting issue I'm afraid, I have no way of detecting when the player is sitting like that. Tails do offset when riding/mounting an entity though. They don't and won't wrap around a player however cause of the blockiness of the tails. If they bend too far, you get huge gaps in them and they look weird so ^^;;

Oh. Well, that's fine too. Gotta go with the lesser evil where minecraft is concerned.
My friend and I are pretty happy this works with MPM by the way. Our foxes are perfect now. >:3

I've unfortunately had a few reports of incompatibility with Smart Moving. Honestly I'm not sure it's something I can fix as I rely on using vanilla values for the players rotation but I have an idea, can't promise if it will work however.

So I decided to take a stab at adding in Smart Moving support annnnd...
It works Tails are a little derpy when flying (they basically stick straight up) but I can't do too much about that I'm afraid as the animations aren't designed for use with Smart Moving. But at least tails will now stick to your body instead of floating!

discard what I said before, maybe you can help the MPM guy out with this kind of support

I see you have 2 player heads in your inventory. Do they by any chance have something to do with your mod?

That's correct, I actually added the head rendering back in 1.6.4 before the 1.8 stuff was even a thing XD Mostly because my head looked weird without the hair layer but people like it so woohoo! It's a part of FoxLib

I don't believe his code is open source (I may be wrong though) and his case, he does some entire model replacements which obviously won't work with Smart Moving. But I have something planned you may like
Dude this is great! I can finally be a complete dinosaur! However, upon installing the mod and running it with around 70 or so other mods my game lags into oblivion. I've determined the cause to be either this mod or this mod's core mod. Is there any easy fix for this? I'm running quite a good computer with several intensive mods. Please help, I wanna be a dinosaur.....

Hmm that is incredibly odd. I've had no other reports of performance issues and it shouldn't really cause any... Do you have a list of mods you also have installed?

Can't wait to see it. It's nice to be able to have a tail and use smart moving in the meanwhile. The tail is the most important thing for me.
Edit: Also this is a request coming more from a friend of mine than me... Basically a way to customize how many fox tails you have. You covered the most common numbers already, but my friend has 5.
He's not really the type to make a fuss about it but I think it would make him happy so I figured I'd ask. My experience with techne is pretty limited otherwise I'd try to model it myself.

I can't get the mod to work at all. I've followed the instillation to a t, but still can't get it to work on my. ;-; Can I please get some help? I want to freak my boyfriend out and his uni friend the next time all three of us play Minecraft.

What exactly is not working? Is Minecraft crashing? Is the mod not loading? Make sure you have the latest Forge installed and if it crashes, link me the crash report

I've debated this. I need to find a better way of doing tail subtypes first cause each tail count would be a different subtype and it would spam the tail list basically. But I've had a few requests, will look into it.
Do you think you could make the fox tails bigger, I would like to be able to look like Naruto when he has the tails but they are kind of short. Do you think you could make them bigger?

Admittedly I was not expecting that results....it can't be right, I for one have to much a hero complex for that to be right and two: I am one of the most Pessimistic people around.....yea I have no idea how I got Mew.....
Now I got it, this is the Pokemon I would be. And I am not just saying that because I like Mewtwo, I really am a lot like Mewtwo.
I'm guessing SmartMoving support isn't in the currently uploaded version of the mod because I just tested it to find out and, well, I got some pretty hilarious results.

Haha XD
Yeah the fix isn't in release at the moment because it changes how stuff is rendered and I need to test if it breaks with other stuff however if you want to test the changes, you can download a beta here ^^ If you notice any issues let me know!
On a similar topic, you can find all the latest beta's/alpha's here just beware that a lot of the stuff is experimental!

It's not loading. I think I have downloaded the latest version of the Forge, but I will try again tonight. If it does crash I will link you to the crash report. I do have to say that this is my first time trying to use a mod, so I can be easily making a mistake on my own and not realize it. Not really good at reading and following instillations. ^^; Most of the time I use pictures and vids to help me on installations. XD
Nevermind, I think I fixed the problem. It was another mod that was fooling me into thinking it worked :P. Anyhow great mod man! I'm loving being a dinosaur!

Foxlib makes heads render like they do in 1.8. Other than that, the first head looks like iChun's (and I can't imagine iChun using a tail)

Oh well, that's what the vanilla skin is for. :V
