interesting. I have tested the limits on multiplayer servers successfully for mc1.7.10 and 1.8. This is odd.
*sigh* ok now for the usual questions:
Please confirm the exact mod file name for SpawnCommands for this server.
Also which version of minecraft is this?
Would it be possible to get an exact copy of the config files? perhaps in a spoiler or zip? <--- probably the most useful info.
If worst comes to worst a list of mods installed with it? (I hope this one is not necessary)
Any info you think may be relevant is always welcome.
Thank you sincerely.
SpawnCommands-2.2.0-mc1.8-forge.jar, 1.8, zip, there have been some additions and changes to the mod list I pm'ed you awhile back, however, afaik people were setting way more than four homes before any of that.

Yes, I have been able to reproduce the problem. You are right. I have the code up and will definately fix this one. Im not sure what happened but I will find out.
OFFICIAL RELEASE of SpawnCommands Teleport version 2.2.1 for Minecraft 1.8
2 fixes:
1. Bug fix: The version of SpawnCommands for mc1.8 was not limiting the number of named locations even when configured to do so. Its working now. It had actually been working in the past too but something happened. All good now.
2. Bug fix/compatibility issue with other mods that change the display name such as changing colors of names in chat or making nick-names. It appears to be working now. Do note that to /ta to a person you must use their actual in-game name not a nickname. Typing /ta then hitting tab repeatedly will autocomplete all names of players currently in-game.
I am now checking SpawnCommands Teleport version 2.2.0 for Minecraft 1.7.10 for these issues as well....
The download links for version 2.2.1 should be on the first post in this thread.
OFFICIAL RELEASE of SpawnCommands Teleport version 2.2.2 for both Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.8
Same 2 fixes above (previous post) for both versions of minecraft now including mc1.7.10
These changes affect only a few people. Those that limit the number of named locations and those that use player name modifying mods.
There was a very minor change in the code for mc1.8 which is why this is version 2.2.2 as opposed to 2.2.1
The version for Minecraft 1.7.10 also had the same 2 problems and is now working well.
All good.
If you do use a mod that changes your name color or the text of your name in the in-game chat, then you need to remember to use the players actual in-game name with /ta (Teleport Ask) commands rather than their display name with the extra tags and colors. You can type /ta, a space, then type part of their name and hit the tab key repeatedly as needed to get their in-game name. /ta space tab key with no partial name typed will go throught all player's names that are in-game at that moment. Try it. Its easy. Player name capitalization is not important and will be self-correcting.
See the first post in this thread for download links.
I really love your mod. All I need for "cheats" are the /spawn, /home, /back commands and the variations you shared.
And your mod really works..Not like some other buggy command mods.
Now my question:
I have a single player world where Im playing with my brother via LAN. The SP is created on my Minecraft and he joins via Local Server. Do the commands also work for him by default (cheats are enabled when I share the LAN world) or do I have to change something to make it work for both of us?
I already enabled the advanced commands in the config and it works for me.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: this works in single player as well as multiplayer and only needs installed on the server side for servers. Im glad you configured it ahead and that should work perfectly if you have the latest version of this mod for your version of minecraft. It should work for all players connecting to the server.
PS: Thanks for the feedback. I dont get much of it.
Oops you probably chose to download the SpawnCommands Teleport mod for Minecraft version 1.6.4 It is the only version that uses zips. Check which version of minecraft you are playing with and be sure to choose the correct version of SpawnCommands for that Minecraft.
Where is the config file because i want to enable Advanced Commands i tried /spawn+ enable and it still wont let me it says i have to do it in the config file please Help!
Where is the config file because i want to enable Advanced Commands i tried /spawn+ enable and it still wont let me it says i have to do it in the config file please Help!
THE CONFIG FILES are in the folder where your world is saved. Most forge mods store their config file in the folder named "config" and SpawnCommands Teleport does have a config file there. In that config file is a message telling you to look in the folder where your game is saved. Most often multi-player worlds are saved in a folder named "world" and most single-player games are saved in their own folder under a folder named "saves". You need to know where you have the server installed to or for single-player where minecraft is installed to (.minecraft) For more help finding the configs click here.
Do be sure to have the latest version of SpawnCommands Teleport for your version of Minecraft if at all possible.
If you are in a single player game and started the game with "Cheats Disabled" then SpawnCommands treats you as being a non-operator player.
If you are in a multiplayer game you need to be an "operator" to be able to enable the advanced commands.
Please click the following link for lots of helpful details
Please do click here to see this answer in detail that was for someone else wondering the same thing.
If that did not help please ask again here and I will do my best to help you.
OMG YAY!! I've been searching for AGES for a mod that will work with 1.8 and allow home setting, tp etc; thank you! Forge Essentials was bugging out badly for us on 1.8 and this will save our servers, thanks so much!!
when i try to do /spawn or /home /sethome i says you do not have permission but everything is on all
so I am assuming by "everything is on" that you did a /spawn+ enable
actually those commands (/spawn /home /sethome) are all the standard commands and should be on even without that.
could you post a screen shot of the message with the command you typed?
Have you changed the config files?
Is this single player or a server?
Please recheck the problem and confirm exactly the command and the response
Im happy to help you figure it out. It could be some confusion I suspect but lets check it out systematically.
If the config files are messed up you can delete them and restart the server/game and they will be recreated with the default settings. The config files are not in the main config folder but they are in the world / saved folder.
/top - This would take you to the highes landing area with a direct sky view above you. Example: out of a cave or to the top of a building.
/up - This would take you to the next found open space above you to teleport to. Example: to the next floor up in a building.
/down - The opposite of /up as in down
and
/ti <playername> - This would invite a player to teleport to you instead of them asking to teleport to you. This is part of /ta (teleport ask) similar to the /tpa. possible to use "all" as a parameter to invite all players or perhaps use multiple names. Maybe someday be able to define groups of names of friends.... Just some thoughts.
/ti - using /ti alone would teleport you to a recent /ti request from another player.
an after thoughts to make teleporting easier:
/ok - to approve /ta requests and have it configurable so you can rename this command to not interfere with any other mods if needed.
by default the top up and down commands would be operator only.
// This file is checked each time a command in this mod is used.
// command=[all|enabled|op|no]
// example: back=op
spawn=all
...
Good clear info thank you.
Regarding the mesage in red "I'm sorry, but you do not have permission to perform..." specific error message is definately not coming from the mod SpawnCommands Teleport.
Now the question is why its there.
Thinking aloud:
An important check is to make sure you are using the latest version of this mod for your version of minecraft. Please check your minecraft version and the file name of this mod in your mods folder against the latest mod file names listed here http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/spawncommands-spawn-commands-teleport/files
There were some old versions with bugs. The latest should work.
If there is another mod that gives permissions to players to use specific commands it may be interfering with using this. I seem to recall one that used to be called essentials or permissions or something. If you do, please check that mod's permissions for groups or players or operators relating to commands they may use. Perhaps you could include a list of mods in your modpack. That would be useful. Post it inside a "spoiler" here maybe. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY problem as far as i can see now.
If the command does not exist or is disabled it should give an error about the command not existing, not an error about the permissions as shown here. But to check this for sure please check if the /spawn command is or is not set to value "spawn" in the Spawn Commands config file "_commandNames.config" Pasting a copy of the file here would clarify this instantly even thought this is unlikely the problem. If it was set to any other name then it should be a different error than the one shown.
An odd thought: You mentioned that those screen shots are before and after using the /spawn command? So, the before has the same error message as the after. Is it the same message or the message again? Also, is the location shown there the exact main spawn location in both pictures? If it is the main spawn location then using the /spawn command wouldnt actually move you since you would already be there... just some thoughts.
It looks like its trying to combine Bukkit style "plugins" with Forge style "mods". This is a good idea. I want it to work.
It is possible that cauldron is causing the problem but it is more likely that there is a "plugin" that is interfering with Spawn Commands Teleport. It is also probable that one of the "plugins" crates a command by the same name (/spawn) or that it controls what players can use what commands.
Can you post a list of "plugins" that you are using with Cauldron?
All the commands from SpawnCommands Teleport can be renamed using the config file. The configs of most mods/plugins allow disabling thier commands and other content. If there is are two mods creating the "/spawn" command then one should probably be disabled. I would suggest disabling the non-spawncommands conflicting command because of how all the commands in SpawnCommands work together for things like /back and named locations.
Would you post a link to Cauldron here if there is one?
Relating to issues with Cauldron and the legal but inappropriate problems caused by the owner of the stuff in Bukkit. I found this nice web page: http://minecraft.maeyanie.com/cauldron/
Personally I find the person who caused these legal problems to be disturbingly abusive to the real people in the Minecraft community and deserving of many displeasing words. Bukkit was a very good thing till then. This person that I am angry with could do the right thing even now and make his code totally free and opensource with no restrictions. It would be a kind thing to do and would be a step in the right direction. We are moving on now.

Here is a feature request that is often used on Bukkit servers. Can you add teleporting to a random location - IE to the wilderness? Configurable block radius from spawn or something. It would be a great feature and I haven't found anything similar to this that is forge only - Pathways is the closest but it doesn't seem to run. http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/pathways

Sounds good. I will do it. My life at the moment prevents me from working on it for the moment. But I like this and will add it.
So for now the new commands in mind to add to SpawnCommands Teleport are:
/spawnrand <maxdistance> - will randomly teleport you to a location between a minimim and the specified distance away from main spawn. A thought is what if we want to random teleport from our current location... just a thought. Maybe /spawn 2000 from here or just /spawn 2000.. thinking aloud... lol
Suggestions on what to make the commands are also welcome.
I am currently working on a Land Claim mod to protect your start location giving new players a good start without being overwhelmed. I plan to provide support for that in SpawnCommands as well. For that I would prevent random spawns or coordinate specified spawns from landing you inside a claimed area. This mod im working on is due to a need for it on our Minecraft server.
Cool - not a problem. I just have used your mod on my small private server and always liked the idea of getting far away to the wilderness. /spawnrand 2000 and /spawnrandplayer ?
