Hi, how exactly does one customize this mod and is there a way to add more food groups? like I want to add a food group for meat, jerky, etc. but I'm unsure how exactly to do that?
I would like to know how to change the food groups as well. Making some things fill more or less hungry...some things like whole meals only restoring two hungry seems silly.
How do we do feature addition suggestions? I would love love love love if somewhere in one of your mods, you added a mechanic where you could overcap saturation to give usefulness to items that provide more than 20 half saturation points.
Hi there! Anyone know if there is there a way to increase the amount of items that can be held by the lunchbox/bag (stack size & bag capicity)? Only holds two per item & 6 items per lunch box. I was curious if I could modify that at all. Thanks for your time!
As a modded minecrafter I love this mod, irl I am a fussy eater and plus can't have certain foods because of their colors, preservatives and chemicals, so I think that this is a excellent way for me to grow a habit of trying new foods! I don't actually know if that will work but I hope it does. Also, could you explain the saturation for me? I dont understand it I find it confusing. The way I know saturation: 2nd hunger. Thats all I know about it.
Going back over 1.7.10 mods with the hope of building a mod pack, and I run across this line:
Want the mod to behave differently than is currently possible? Let me know and I'll probably make it a configuration option.
Now you've got me wondering what sort of (relatively simple) behavior would encourage food variety.
The only thing I can think of offhand -- and it probably isn't right for this mod, but it'd be kinda neat -- is having a HarvestCraft-specific variant that sorts food into general categories (protein, veggie, fruit, grain, dairy... sweets... alcohol?) and encourages players to eat more than two categories by some combination of diminishing returns or even some mild buffs and/or debuffs.
Like, if you go for a week without having eaten any of a given category, then you get a mild debuff. Or, perhaps better: If, in the past three days, you've eaten at least four of the five main categories, then you get a mild buff (which only wears off if you've gone three days with at least two categories missing). Maybe config option to decide if that lets you mine faster, regain health faster, or not lose hunger so fast.
I could also see having sweets be a category that drops off returns much faster than the rest, but gives buffs or debuffs: If you haven't eaten candy in a while, then eating candy makes you move a little faster, dig a little faster. But if you eat more than a couple of candy, suddenly you're digging slower, your feet are dragging, you're reminded that too much sugar is bad for you. That sort of thing.
Dang it, now I want a mod like that, and it probably doesn't exist.

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
There's a variable for food history length so I'm pretty sure that's just a coincidence. But you can adjust that formula any way you like.
Using the latest version in 1.12.1 and it's not registering food histories correctly. It works perfectly with 1.12 I'll add.
I am having the same issue as SockWulf in 1.12.1, the mod does not register any food I have eaten, It was working correctly in 1.12
Make sure you are using AppleCore for 1.12.1, specifically. The 1.12 version of AppleCore will not work right on 1.12.1.
Doh, thank you very much, that worked like a dream
Thank you squeek.
Can you add compatibility to heatandclimatelib 1.10.2 I belive the problem is due to food being entities
