i really think that rubber armor is a good idea, but it should require you to mix a rubber block with some sulphur in the crafting table to get vulcanized rubber, with that you could make armor.
also for those rotten logs that are hollow, they could generate sometimes on the top layer of the water, as if they where floating, but you could use weed wood log with mushrooms to make roten logs, and theese could be placed on top of water (or on the waters top layer) to provide you with an alternative to cross or simply stand on water (great for hunting water mobs) of course Anglers would jump on you whaen you stand on a rotten log in the water.
I think it would be a good idea to make this forge compatible I hope you agree. Also when you come out with a download ill be happy to play it and tell you if there are any bugs.
My wip 32x texture pack.

Oh, sweet!
That's fine!
As long as the main world and the dimension don't interfere with each other, I don't care!
You see, that's the good thing about dimensions!
You have all this new area to explore with new monsters, new ores, etc. and then you can go back to your untouched world whenever you want!
-Edit: An idea for swamp reed dust. You could use it in a potion recipe.
You could add a fly to the betweenlands, I think that would fit very well to your mod.
Maybe something like this:
Good luck!
Also, I fully support:
He already said he was using forge :?
