I'm not asking you to update to 1.8, I'm just wondering why it hasn't been done yet, WAILA (Even though itself hasn't been fixed since it's 1.8 release) has been out for 1.8 for a while now. Is it cause you are waiting for TiC to go 1.8? cause I know I'm waiting for them to...

Due to the lack of support for Tinker's Construct at the 1.7.10 level (except for severe cases), I'm working on dropping that mod, and all addons to it. Among those mods being removed, is Iguana's Tinker Tweaks. I am currently replacing its mining progression using a combination of Block Properties and Custom Items (to replace the pickaxes) mods.
The problem is that Waila Harvestability is still showing the original mining level names, and I'd like to change that (to copper->bronze->iron->steel->diamond->obsidian). Is there a way to reconfigure the harvest levels in this mod without Iguana's Tinker Tweaks installed? Specifically, the names?

Hadn't considered that. You should be able to do it with a resource pack that has an en_US.lang file with the following contents:
gui.partcrafter.mining1=Level One Name
gui.partcrafter.mining2=Level Two Name
gui.partcrafter.mining3=Level Three Name

gui.partcrafter.mining2=Level Two Name

etc, for each mining level.
Hmmm... I wonder if it can work through MineTweaker (I've already changed Thermal Foundation's Platinum, Nickel, and Mithril ores to get rid of those silly names)... if not, that still sounds like a good plan B.
...provided I figure out how to make a resource pack.
UPDATE
It works using MineTweaker, with one rather strange exception: While gui.partcrafter.mining5 and gui.partcrafter.mining7 can be altered without hiccup, gui.partcrafter.mining6 seems to be overriding any changes I make and keep the ore level at "Atlarus".

Ah, that's right, I hardcoded that one. I did that because mining level 6 is set as Manyullyn in TiC which doesn't make sense because there's no Manyullyn ore, and nothing except ExtraTiC used mining level 6.
I can remove that code now, though, because it only exists to support TiC version < 1.5.3, which is for Minecraft 1.6.4. I'll clean that stuff up and release a new version.

Wow... I'm glad the reason no longer applies. As a side note, however, I've also changed the text to read "Tool Level : (material name)" when looking at the block, in the same way that I've set "Harvest level : Ore Name" in the pickaxe tooltip.
In essence, the tooltip for the pickaxe will give the level of ore that the pickaxe will mine, while I intend for WAILA to show the type of pickaxe required to mine the stone. For example, looking at a diamond pickaxe will show level obsidian, while looking at an obsidian block will show "Tool Type: Diamond".
There's no manyullyn, but the bronze level is technically the same thing. Will that be a problem?
As a matter of fact, perhaps the script code would help to enlighten:
That sounds confusing, but it should work. Note also that I'll be changing the localization string name, so in the new version (which I'll release in a second), you'd use:
- Dropped 1.7.2 support, now will only work for Minecraft 1.7.10
- Allowed clients without the mod to connect to a server with it
- Added Spanish translation (thanks @XxCoolGamesxX)
- Added Czech translation (thanks @nalimleinad)
- Added French translation (thanks @Mazdallier)
- Updated German translation (thanks @ReneMuetti)
- Fixed 'is ore' check not handling multiple oredict registrations properly
- Fixed potential null pointer exception
- Allow custom localizations for mining level names when Tinkers Construct is not installed using the unlocalized name wailaharvestability.harvestlevel<num> (e.g. wailaharvestability.harvestlevel2=Level 2)
- Fix harvestability info of GregTech ores
- Fix silk touchability flickering on certain blocks (e.g. gravel). This was actually fixed in 1.1.3 but I forgot to put it in the changelog.
- Updated the 1.8 version to be compatible with the newer Waila version for 1.8 (thanks @GirafiStudios)
- The 1.8 version will now work for 1.8.8 as well
- Added proper support for adventure mode harvestability
- Added Waila option to show harvest level number (can now choose to show harvest level name, number, both, or neither)
Hello, I'm currently experincing a bug in that; in the options menu of wailia the harvestabilty tab isnt selectable.
The reason I'm posting this is that I'm looking for the feature that adds progress % to stuff im mining. The mod itself works fine otherwise.
(Was playing on a friends forge infinity server and whenever i mined something I would get a progress % bar)
Thank you for your time, the mod is awesome.
I'm using MC 1.7.10
Waila-1.5.10_1.7.10
WailaHarvestability-mc1.7.10-1.1.6
WAILAPlugins-MC1.7.10-0.1.2-21 (suspected mod conflict)
Forge10.13.4.1614 (With liteloader)
(Various amounts of mods, which shouldn't effect the issue)
Two issues here:
- The "Harvestability" button not being selectable would be a Waila bug, as that entire options menu is 100% controlled by Waila. You can report it to the Waila dev here.
- The progress % comes from Wawla
Just replying to say thanks to this mod for helping me throughout the moments where I had trouble finding out if I can mine the block or not.

If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
