April Fools! This was actually going to be a suggestion, but the mods didn't approve of it. So I decided to take all of my pictures and make a fake mod.
The Portal
Much like the Nether; the Aether requires a portal in order to access it. Glowstone is far too easy to get now a days, so a different block is going to be used. The Aether Portal can be made by taking endstone and putting it in the shape of a Nether Portal. It can be activated with the use of a flint and steel. The color of the portal is the exact opposite of purple: green.
The Aether
The Aether is a world of floating islands. These islands are mostly composed of Aetherock, Light Soil and Sky Grass all which can only be harvested with silk touch or gold tools (If not then cobblestone and dirt will be dropped. A big factor about the Aether is that every last bit of is at full brightness. Overhangs do not cast shadows and caves are as light as the outdoors. There is no sun in the Aether and there is no night there either. Another big factor in the Aether is that lava nor fire can exist in it. Fire is instantly extinguish if created and lava will become obsidian. Various mobs spawn in the Aether including Sun Sprites, Fairies, Sheepuffs (from the original suggestion), and the rare angel pigmen. Almost every thing in the Nether has an Aether counter part.Holy Trees
The Aether is spotted with trees that have rich, golden wood. These trees occasionally generate in small forests as well. Like all trees they have leaves that can be harvested with shears or can be broken to drop saplings. The wood can be harvested with silk touch or gold tools (otherwise only oak wood will drop). This wood can be crafted into Holy Wood Planks which are gold in color. These planks do nothing special but can be crafted into regular sticks.
Float Sand
Found in overhangs and the bottom of the floating islands and occasionally in caves is float sand. Float sand is a yellowish sand that is not affected by gravity. In fact, it actually floats up if there is not a block above it. Float sand will float up until it reaches the block placing limit, after passing it the float sand will disappear. It doesn't do anything else besides that for now. I'm sure people could use it for something though.Warning: Float sand does not bring players and other entities up with it. It will just fly through them.
Sapphires
Within the Aetherock is a rare gemstone known as an Aether Sapphire. These purple gems (yes sapphires can be purple) are not very common and can be dangerous to mine. Sapphires can only be mined up with a golden pickaxe, a silk touch pick will give the player a sapphire ore block. Like all ore items, sapphires can be made into blocks. The use of Sapphires will be explained later [See Aetheroots].
Flowers
The Aether has two types of flowers in it. These flowers are the Puffnea and the Aetherose. Roses never actually left Minecraft, they just went to the Aether. That's right, roses are now back as Aetheroses. They appear a little different, having an orange bloom rather than a red one, but it's definitely the same flower. Aetheroses make orange dye.A puffnea is a lavender colored flower and are more rare than the Aetheroses. Puffneas make light blue dye.
Crystal
The original suggestion of the Aether includes information on some sort of crystalline material. It was originally going to makes tools but I am trying to avoid such things. Growing much like cacti, crystals grow out of the ground and come in heights of 1-5 blocks. The blocks can be placed anywhere but will only grow if they are on top of sky grass. Even though the crystals can be found up to 5 blocks high, a crystal can only grow up to 3 blocks high when placed by the player. When a crystal is broken by a pickaxe it will drop crystal shards which can either be crafted back into blocks or used to make frost resistance potions. Frost resistance will be explained later.
Oil
The Aether is dotted with many ponds of water, but there is more than just water in the Aether. In the Aether there is strange, purple oil that heals the living but harms the undead. It flows farther than water (10 blocks instead of 7) and reacts to the overworld liquids. When it touch water then the water freezes, when water touches it then it becomes aetherock. When it touches lava or if the lava touches it then the oil will become aetherock. Rainbow fish can be fished out of Oil as well.
Aether Forts
Much like the Nether, the Aether also has Fortresses. These large floating structures are made up of Aether Brick, a purplish block that is quite durable. Aether brick can be crafted with four aether bricks which are made by smelting aetherock. These forts are the home of blizzes, an icy counter part to the blazes. In side the middle building is a plant that is a must have for anybody as well.Note: Sorry, all of the forts look the same. I have not yet gotten into doing dynamic buildings yet. These are only a place filler.
Aetheroot
Found only inside the main building of an Aether Fort is the rare Aetheroot. Aetheroots are an important crop of the Aether. Aetheroots can only be planted on tilled light soil. Light soil can only be tilled with a golden hoe. Light soil can become wet with either water or oil, but only oil will speed up the growth of aetheroots. Bonemeal CAN NOT be used on aetheroots. Aetheroots can be eaten and combined with sapphires to make the ingredient for resistance potions.
Sheepuffs
From the original suggestion comes Sheepuffs. These fuzzy guys roam the Aether and graze on the sky grass. A sheepuff's wool has special properties that allows them to jump two blocks high and float safely down to the ground from any height. Puffy Wool can be harvested from sheepuffs by using shears. When a sheepuff does not have any wool, then it will no longer be able to jump high or float down. Sheepuffs regrow their wool when they eat sky grass. They will refuse to eat normal grass. Sheepuffs can be tamed and bred through the use of aetheroots. Untamed sheepuffs will despawn eventually but tamed ones won't. The wool of sheepuffs can't be dyed, nor can puffy wool blocks. Puffy Wool prevents fall damage from 6 blocks or lower and dampens fall damage from 7 or up. Puffy Carpet does not do the same.
Blizzes
These four eyed beings guard the Aether Forts. They act exactly like a blaze. The only difference between the two is that a Blizz freezes the player as opposed to burning them. The frozen effect is not a potion effect, it is more like fire. So milk will not remove the frozen effect. While frozen the player can't move, not an inch. However that player can speed up the breaking of the ice by rapidly clicking the mouse. This effect is very dangerous as the player can still take knockback. Frost resistance prevents a player from freezing. Also Frost Aspect is a new enchantment that give's the player's weapon a small chance of freezing an enemy. Fire will remove the frozen effect and vise versa.
Nights
Nights are passive mobs that will run from the player. They can jump three blocks high and run very fast, however rainbow fish will lure them toward you. Feeding them will not tame them. Killing may give a night soul. Night Souls can be used to make jump boost potions. Corrupting them gives you a slowness potion.
Aether Guardians
Aether Guardians are an aggressive mob that attacks the same way as a snow golem does. They rapidly fire energy spheres at players and other non Aether mobs that cause knockback. The knockback generated from these spheres is equivalent to arrows fired from a punch 1 bow. They usually spawn in groups so they are quite dangerous. Killing them has a rare chance of them dropping a sapphire.
Fairies
Fairies are much like bats. They exist only for aesthetics.
Angel Pigmen
Angel Pigmen are a more rare mob in the Aether only spawning alone or in groups of 3. They only attack the player if the player attacks them. If an Angel and Zombie pigman meet each other in the overworld, then the two will fight to the death.
Sun Sprite
These things are the most dangerous mob in the Aether. They act much like ghasts but are much smaller.
They fire explosive orbs that blind the player if they are in the explosion. The explosion does not damage Aether blocks, but all forign blocks besides obsidian and endstone will be destroyed. They drop sun cores upon death which can be used to make blindness potions. Corrupting them gives an instant damage potion.
Aethermen
Looks like some Endermen accidentally teleported into and got stuck in the Aether. They act the same way except they don't mind the light and have lost their weakness to water. Oil will hurt them however.
The Nether
Currently there isn't very much motive to enter the Nether. The Nether isn't that hard to survive in either. This mod changes all of that. The Nether is far more unique than it was, many overworld things in it have been raplaced with more "Nethery" features. Most of the features added to the Nether are there to make a far more hostile environment. Beware, creatures such as wurms or hazards such as acid are kill you fast if you are not properly prepared.Ghasts
Ever since the bow was buffed in Beta 1.8; ghasts have become a much smaller threat than they used to be. In beta it took 3 arrows to kill a ghast, and the bow couldn't even shoot as far as it does now. This mod gives ghasts 20 health instead of their puny 10. They can now withstand 3 fully charged shots with a bow, a bow with a high enough power enchant may be able to kill them in 2 though. To reward players for their extra efforts on killing ghasts, the regeneration potion nerf has been repealed. Regeneration potions are now worthi using again.
Magma Cubes
Magma Cubes are rather pathetic, but this mod changes all of that. Magma Cubes no longer take knockback from any weapon, so no there is no stopping them from jumping up to attack. The tiny magma cubes can also cause damage more easily now.
Wither Skeletons
Wither skeletons now have a chance to spawn outside of Nether Forts. However regular skeletons no longer spawn for more reasons besides not being fireproof. Wither skeletons also no longer drop their swords, which are now made up of quartz. Wither skeletons now have spawn eggs as well.
Nitros
Nitros are fiery creatures that float around on the lava's surface. They will spit small fireballs at nearby players. If a nitro is dragged out of the lava then it will quickly die. They drop nothing due to always being in the lava, but the experience they drop may be harvested if the player is close enough or if they are dragged out of the lava.
Spiked Grems
Spiked Grems come from the original New Nether Suggestion. They are sheep like and are covered in spikey barbs (however the barbs are 2-D are the moment). When a grem is attacked with a melee attack then the attacker may be hurt as well, the grem will also run around much like other farm animals. Grems can be tamed and bred with the use of nether warts. When a grem is killed it will drop barbs which can be made into spike blocks and spiked fences. These do damage to all mobs but don't destroy items.
Nether Guardians
These guys are very much like iron golems, except they are aggressive towards players and anything that doesn't come from the Nether (this is the main reason why normal skeletons no longer spawn in the Nether). They have tons of health and take no knockback from ranged attacks. They take reduced knockback from melee attacks so knockback enchantments are a big help against them. When they are killed they drop 2-5 quartz.
Wurms
These are one of the most dangerous but also rare mob in the Nether. If you have played Terraria then you already know how these guys attack. They move swiftly through blocks and attack players by leaping out of the ground at them. When in the air they are prone to gravity and knockback so take your chance to fight back. They have a whopping 15 health and are very long. When killed, a wurm may drop 1-3 wurm hearts which are used to make health boost potions; corrupting a health boost potion makes it an absorption potion.
Nethermen
Looks like some endermen wound up getting stuck in the Nether as well. These guys are fireproof like all Nether mobs but still take damage from acid and water. What is acid? I'll explain later. A netherman's skin also matches the color of netherbricks, so keep your eyes peeled.
Soul Sand
Soul Sand now has a "sticky" feature added to it. If a block that is affected by gravity (or floats up) is placed next to it, then it won't move. Anvils are too heavy to stick to soul sand though. Soul sand can also be smelted into soul glass. Soul Glass is much like glass, but it only lets a limited amount of light to go through; much like leaves and ice do.
Ash
Ash is a new block that replaces gravel in the Nether. It is hot to touch and all non fireproof mobs will take damage on it, items also get destroyed by it. If a player has the fire resistance effect or fire protection boots on then they will not take damage from ash.
Mushraves
Mushraves replace the normal mushrooms of the Nether. They come in 3 colors, blue, green, and red. Minecraft does not support colored lighting yet so they do not emit light as of now. They currently can only make white rave gel, an edible gel that fills a whole 5 hunger bars and has a high saturation value. It can't be stacked however.
Gloomwood Trees
These are the trees of the Nether. They are fireproof and only have a thin layer of leaves on the branches. Like all trees they drop saplings and wood of it's type. Gloomwood can be crafted into planks which are also fireproof.
Acid
Acid is the new liquid of the Nether. It cause severe damage to armor and health, gold armor does have a strong resistance to it though. Unlike lava there are no lasting effects that occur (like catching on fire). Nether acid is so strong that even Nether mobs will take damage from it. Acid flows 5 blocks far in all areas. Bone fish can also be fished up from acid, but 4 durability will be taken way from the fishing rod each time it is reeled in. Bone fish are used to make hunger potions; when corrupted they become saturation potions. Even though acid is very strong, it solidifies into netherrack whenever it touches another overworld liquid or vise versa, it also solidifies when placed in the Aether. Both Nether Acid and Aether Oil can be taken to the overworld. When the two flow into each other then a special decorative block is created.
Quartz Beans
Nether quartz can now be used to make quartz beans, a potion ingredient that makes haste potions. When a haste potion is corrupted it becomes a mining fatigue potion.
Other Features
Entering Dimensions
Entering a portal now plays the travel sound again. It also brings up the screen that says where you are going rather than a downloading terrain screen.
Aether and Nether Mobs
When a Nether mob is brought into the Aether, it will quickly die. Aether mmobs will also die if brought to the Nether. Both types of mobs can be brought to the overworld and the End. There is a rare chance of Aethermen and Nethermen of spawning in the End too. These Endermen have found their way back home but
being in the other diemensions has permanently changed them.
Poison Potatoes
Poisonous Potatoes can be used to make nausea potions; Corrupting them makes a slowness potion.
All this mod actually does is make Minecraft bring up 20 RickRolls.
If you really want to download it though, you can. This mod is for Minecraft 1.7.2. Forge is needed in order to use this mod as well. Drag all of the files found inside the A&N.zip folder into the mods folder. Download
Wow! How long did it take to make this mod! BEST MOD EVER. Screw the Aether THIS IS 15 TIMES BETTER. Oh BTW I got a YouTube account with 10 subscribers and I do a lot of mod reviews like Build Craft! PLEASE READ DISCRIPTION

PBH Mine is WAY better. It's about to be released.
BTW, my mod, NetherX, is also using a few ideas from the New Nether Suggestion Thread (such as gluttons, for instance).
Perhaps we could collaborate a bit.
One suggestion - endstone is extremely hard to get - perhaps you could add crystals (like the original suggestion) - some sort of new underground feature, only mineable with a diamond pickaxe, that could make the portal instead.
EDIT: Any chance of a backport to 1.6.4? Just 'cause all the rest of the mods I used are still in 1.6.4.

It turns out that this mod isn't actually what it claims to be - when I did download it, it opened and spammed my browser with "www.bringvictory.com". I am guessing this is an attempt at an April fools joke, but if the real download is not up by today, I might have to notify a moderator.

Yup, it's nothing but an April Fools mod. There actually isn't any real mod at all. If I could make a mod like this I would.
This was actually going to be a suggestion, but the admins didn't take to well on my plans to take over the main thread for Aether and Nether suggestions.

I have to say, you did a really nice job of faking it.
It's a shame this isn't a real mod, if it was, it would be incredibly awesome.
Lol it was an awesome prank though, great job.

My goal for my suggestions is to make in-game images that look as real as possible. One of my suggestions even made some guy ask for a mod download even though it was just a suggestion; which gave me the idea for using these images for a prank.
I do wonder if this post may change the admins' minds though. The lead two suggestions for the Aether and New Nether are rather outdated; being filled with content that wouldn't be useful in modern Minecraft.

Too bad I lost my interest in exploring Minecraft and got pulled over by tech mods
Yes, sounds a lot like creative music
Yes it does.
