My and my nephew, we think we finally found out how to fight off those dreaded Phase Spiders.
Not deeply tested yet, but, twice in a row, while slowly lighting up the Underworld with Glowstone, we had to flee from Phase Spiders, using our usual poorly-performing-but-best-available-mediocre-tactic:
"Retreating while swinging one's sword madly for that less than 1% chance of luckily killing it, then try to find a tiny hole in a corner to have as much walls as possible around you while the Phase Spider sees you as little as possible, and pray and hope that you kill it before it kills you."
While this occurred:
While retreating, we jumped into a 2-blocks-deep Underworld lake. Then the Phase Spiders followed, jumping in the water and swimming after us. And then they got very quickly killed both times !
Then we realized that, apparently (it's only a solid theory to date, though), Phase Spiders, while they *CAN* and will instantly teleport when standing in water (early on, we had tried using Water Buckets against them enough times to know that), still need to have their feet on the ground to do so. So trying to splash them or their path with a water bucket always proved futile, as they moved away instantly, then came back with a vengeance.
However, when not walking, but actually *swimming* in deeper water (don't know if 1 block deep is enough, but in 2 blocks deep they are definitively swimming, not walking with their legs against bottom), then it seems that they *CANNOT* teleport away !
We have to test it a bit more to be sure it works perfectly all the time, but dang, we finally seem to have an effective tactic against them ! Just flee to sufficiently deep water (or bucket-create your own if you have lots of XP to spare), and voilà, easy kill !
We also *finally* found a Dungeon in the Underworld! After placing down tons and tons of Glowstone around.
Yeah, costly Glowstone. Because the Underworld has lots of: Invisible Stalkers, Shadows, and also all kinds of Slimes, which will *ALL* destroy your placed torches. So, yup, 200+ sheeps, tons and tons of wool shearing, for trading with villagers, for XP, to trade back buying Glowstone.
Dang Dungeon didn't have any chest, though. AAAAARGH !!!!
Is this forum dead? I took a couple months off because I left for college and kind of forgot about Minecraft as a whole. But I just redownloaded on my school laptop and am going to add this mod as well, then transfer my saves. But I came back to forums and found that only one or 2 comments had been added.
Is Avernite still developing the mod? Does anyone here even still play? I hope there’s still active players, because I played vanilla a bit earlier today while reinstalling the game, and compared to how fun MITE is, the difference is night and day.
I don't think Avernite is developing the mod anymore and he won't be getting any motivation from how quiet the forum is either. I have never done a R196 Single Player world so I am trying to do that now. I am at around Day 96 (too unmotivated to look) and I am almost at the point of having an Iron Anvil. Have not yet headed off to the Underworld so I have long way to go. Having a real hard time staying motivated so I am playing for 2 to 3 hours every 10 or so days.... so progress is slow.
Having said that this Mod was amazing and kept me playing Minecraft for 2 to 3 years after the point at which I would otherwise become bored with it.

Hello everyone!
If Avernite doesn't update MITEmod in the future,We have the will to continue to develop, but I don't know how to get permission because I can't get in touch with Avernite in any way.
If We can continue to develop, then we will:
-Use a new method to mark the version number.
-Update it after collecting everyone's opinions.
-Allow adjustment of local difficulty, make it easier for more players to get started.
-Donations are voluntary.
So, what do you think? Leave your opinion and reply to us!
I don't understand phase spiders at all, I've just gotten my pickaxe, then spawn, kill me and prevent me from getting it back while seeming to take no damage
Me neither! Im pumped to try it but having issues. Im on an old mac tower that i used to play MITE on a couple years back....Tried to install, but no dice. Other versions of Minecraft will run so its not the main game install. Also using the old launcher, can't remember why but i know it was vital.....Error code below, any help greatly appreciated please.

I followed the manual instructions. Did the copy paste of class folder contents this way. Open standard 1.6.4 with archive utility, go in folder and add class contents from install package (tried doing this both by replacing duplicate files and not replacing duplicates). Then i take the folder and compress it into a zip and rename the file with .jar
I feel like thats how i did it years ago and it worked fine, not sure what im missing now
I have a question, getting back to this game after a long pause, is this a nice starting shelter setup, given i have access to a waterside? been experimenting, seems like the this is a pretty good choice, with a stick i can easily rack up some easy exps
Welp. i just went and tested it in my first run after a long while (i kept losing my past saves somehow, some even already in bronze age), funnily enough it isnt really testing since no mobs at all spawned and approached my humble hole. I suspect a huge underground cavern already has tons of mobs that they dont spawn on the surface. Granted, ill take it any day..
Hey guys, long time no see =). I recently got back into MITE and have been putzing around playing with my boys that are now old enough to play. Did Avernite ever make it so that we could repair anvils? Because it's twice as expensive to repair now...
It hasn't been updated for a long time.
I really want to play MITEmod closer to perfection.
Great news everyone !

Thoughest enemy, according to the level of "Fear For Our Lives" that they induce in us: Bone Lords !
Still no "trick" to effectively fight them off and kill them before they super rapidly swamp us with half a dozen Long Deads.
Anybody knows how to fight them ? (apart from wearing Protection IV Adamantine Armor, of course).
When you meet Bone Lords, before you have enough protection, run away!
Remember not to try to attack them with u wooden bow.Bow is not suitable for fighting with them.
A high quality Silver warhammer with smite IV,It's a powerful weapon that hurts more than a sword.

I still enjoy it occasionally
I am little bit more into it myself now, maybe because I got a lot of iron ore and I am beginning to not feel like a scared rabbit anymore.
About to try to venture into the underworld for the first time. Back to being a scared rabbit.

Be careful of blood moons where zombies can easily smash through any block.
Also just be careful to not be near a jungle because of jungle spiders

Not that I'm aware of Wrygryn, be aware that bonemeal no longer speeds up plant growth, it recently stung me lol
