Btw, here's a progress shot you guys might like

It's not as promising as it looks though...

In fact it crashes blender when clicking on anything and the only things mildly functional are the file browser, issue tracker, and vmd writer.

Everything else does pretty much nothing atm

the only thing i can help you is with the animations.

also the black texture is the only problem for me now cuz some textures on other models works but some NOT.

hmm, I wonder what's not working about them...

You're sure you have all the textures and their formats are supported??

Tip: I try to convert everything to .png format since it's high quality and lossless.

I would use .tiff format, but unfortunately alpha channel support is questionable among libraries, but the format is and has been far superior to .png.

Anyways, I came here to post I've manually updated to blender 2.77 in attempt to fix the crash, but to no avail...

So I'll be updating the minimum required version to 2.77...

It's not as easy to install multiple versions of blender on Linux like it is on Windows...

EDIT: scratch that... apparently my crash was caused because I was using an unreliable PPA installation of blender...

I've just downloaded the official tar.bz2 installation and extracted to my home directory and it no longer crashes

And yes, it's just like Windows except the installation is wherever you want it.

So I'm using 2.78a now, meaning I'll be updating the minimum requirements yet again...

Well here's some bad news towards Windows users considering blender developers stopped supporting Windows XP...

ok, I think I may have some more info, I just added CS to my modpack (not officially yet, still testing it out) and found if you do NOT put the CustomSteve folder that is in the zip file with the mod into the mods folder it WILL crash when you try see the model. the model file is in that folder that it comes with, also, I found there are 2 render player API files you can get, one is the core and the other is an "Enhanced" version that allows armor on models. I realized this when sakuya had no shoes on.

Just a heads up for anyone with the PMD model issues. I found a WORKING version of a PMD/PMX editor and I got it to work for me. PM me and I can maybe link or send the file over.

Would like to come back to this game with this mod, so being able to fix this problem would be great.

The forge version is 1.7.10 with the lastest version as of 1/24/17.

I have the customsteve 1.3.0 with render player API - Core & Enhance and animation API in my mod folder.

However when i press the k button, it does not load up the user interface for customsteve.

And if i open up my inventory to see the customsteve model, it display the general (loading...), then crashes.

Would like to come back to this game with this mod, so being able to fix this problem would be great.

The forge version is 1.7.10 with the lastest version as of 1/24/17.

I have the customsteve 1.3.0 with render player API - Core & Enhance and animation API in my mod folder.

However when i press the k button, it does not load up the user interface for customsteve.

And if i open up my inventory to see the customsteve model, it display the general (loading...), then crashes.

make sure the Custom Steve folder that came with the mod is placed within your mods folder, that's what it's sounding like to me.

The Custom steve folder, as well as the other two items, that is inside the Zipfile is inside my mods folder.
I've included a screenshot of my mods folder.

try removing animation API, it MIGHT be conflicting with it in such a way as making Custom Steve crash but not listing any info against itself. it's worth a shot.
