question would this work on 1.8 as i dont think it would really alter any code or no? and does it require any other mods such as forge or anything so that i know how to install it
I have an almost complete 1.8 port. Still primary development is on 1.7
Yes it works, but the client HAS to have the exact config as the server. So if you enable fuel usage on the server, and the client does not have it enabled, they will crash.
Hey I see that this mod is still in development. Do you have any plans to upgrade the interface? Maybe it would be nice to have a real looking book. I could help you with that if you like.
Hey panicnot42, as you state in your opening post we are using this mod in our 1.7.10 OasisFTB mod pack 2.1.0. Great mod btw, way better than /homes and /warp imho.
I would like to use this mod in a pack called BromigoCraft, an RPG, Adventure, Exploration based pack that has several dimensions and many config changes that will hopefully keep the player entertained. Your mod will be a nice fit to teleporting between the dimensions and other locations.

Panicnot42, love the mod. I've been using teleporters off and on for a while, TF2 Teleporters, then Vanilla-Inspired Teleporters, recently I tried Lemon's Simple Teleporters, but this one fits Minecraft the best in my opinion. Not just cause it sets off my nostalgia for Ultima Online either.
I have a small issue, could use some help from anyone with experience. I went out into the interwebs and found textures for the 1.7.2 version of Warp Book on the BDcraft.net forums(link). When I opened up the Warp Book .jar I found the correct folder, noticed a couple pages I'd never heard of but ignored'em, and replaced the textures for the unbound/bound pages and the book. Fire up MC, throw some paper at an ender pearl, viola: pretty new textured unbound page. Same held true for a bound page, but when I got to the book it turned into a unhappy little black and pink cube. Cue me searching the creative inventory for it, only to discover that it looks great when you find and take it from there. Not really an option during normal play though.

I am at a loss.
Probably has something to do with metadata? I'm not sure
@Duo_decimal: I would recommend to put the textures into your primary resource pack, so as long as you pay attention to the file structure it should work if you put the textures into your resource pack instead of putting them into the jar file. I always do this procedure for having my own textures for Archimedes' Ships etc..

Huh, never tried that. It's just never occurred to me before, I've always just hacked away at the .jar file with Winrar.
So while doing some testing I've come to the conclusion that it's not anything I've done. I grabbed a fresh copy of the mod, everything has it's original texture. Except when trying to craft the book, it's still that black and pink cube when it's hot off the table. When it's from the creative inventory it's the purple pixelated book it ought to be.
I have no idea then, if you use Optifine you could try to deactivate the mod and try it out again. To be on the save side use the vanilla texture pack. If Optifine is the problem, I read that this could be a problem of connected textures. If you don't use Optifine you could try out some of the guides that you can find by googleing for "minecraft pink black texture issue".

Ha! So after some internet poking about I came to discover a work around. Start a Lan game with cheats on, switch the game to creative, grab my book and delete the ingredients(I don't like to cheat, games feel hollow when I start doing that), switch the gamemode back to survival and exit the world. Upon reloading in everything is as it was, except I've got a shiny new warp book. It'll do.
Actually, I kinda like that trick for starting a new character too. I like the idea of the bonus chest, but the contents are too random. I don't need two wooden axes thanks, but a bloody helmet or boots would be nice.

Interface upgrade planned for 1.8.9. I'm actually looking for a texture artist, PM if you are still interested

You found a bug in an early 1.8 version. The crafting recipe for the book was broken. I delivered a new version a few days later on CF
What does the "fuel" config option do? Does it just use an ender pearl each time?
Fix is in the works. I've been on hiatus for a while
It's been on my to-do list for a couple of versions. I had it working at one point, it just wasn't polished enough
Upgrade! There's so much awesome on 1.7
In the op. Nether star for book, ender eye for page

Yes. It adds an extra slot for them
Does this work in smp?
Hi,
I'll be using this mod in my modpack Cubertron. More information is available here.
Thanks!

I totally use this mod.
Looking at making a modpack because I have people that want to play with me and my mod selection.
So I am getting official and making a mod pack.
Thought I would leave you a note.
I don't have a name yet so no idea what to call it.
I would enjoy if there was a config option for this mod where you could specify what item and how much of it was required to teleport

Nice mod. I decided to add it to my private modpack.
I say things on Twitter.
I make mods.

1.8.9 will flesh fuel our more. There will be a custom item, which you can edit the crafting recipe for
Nope!

If you can do it, power to ya. Minecraft PE is a different beast. Next to impossible to mod
Just letting you know i have intention to include Warp Books in my future public modpack. (:
