I'd be happy to fork and continue it if there's any task that people would like to have done on it.
Then again, Iconmaster was fairly recently active on Github, so hopefully someone new won't need to step in.
Uhh.
Whoops, looks like I died again. I've been a bit busy with another project of mine, sadly.
Source's been a bit of a task. Perhaps I should get around to merging those pull requests of Amethyst's, though.
That reminds me of a few crash bugs I need to fix, too. Hmm, so many things to do...
I haven't really been into the whole MC scene lately. I'll merge stuff, but I'm uncertain if I want to continue the mod. If anything else, I feel like I should entirely re-write the mod for 1.8 when it's stable. The code is kinda messy in parts.

I pretty much feel like you do right now, I'm not really into the MC scene right now but I know my mod Cliffie's Goos needs some serious work. Cliffie's Goos will probably eat weaker computers alive, and needs more actual content.
I think everyone on the topic supports you in whatever you do next. Good luck with the 1.8 update when it happens!
I'm pretty sure it already does this - a long time ago I had trouble with it making all Project Red items worth the same thing despite their very different recipes, and it was because P:R registered all of its things as "projectRedItem" or something in the Ore Dictionary.
I don't think you need to do anything special - just specify the desired value for one type of that ore and AeC will automatically propagate that value to everything with that same ore dictionary name.
I dont believe thats the case, since, Im here asking this.
I have like, three different versions of steel, and for some reason one is less than the others.
Despite all being oredicted.
You see this behaviour because AeC automatically selects the AV result with the least AV. In that steel ingot's case, it has a recipe that gives it a lower AV the n the oredict 'norm'.
Hey Iconmaster, I finally got a hold of our resident coder and here is a copy of Aethercraft with Baubbles support (semi-supported) and a new tier of aethercraft armor, but the helmet is still buggy. I think AmethystAir will be updating again in the very near future (a few days) with some "Rings" options to allow for the repair and regen rings to not be so quick to function. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the rate of regen/repair but I'm sure others would say "OP!" and.... yeah Anyways here is a modified version, if we have done anything wrong or you wish for this edition to be removed, please let us know. We love this mod very much so and wanted to help ya along with it, iconmaster. Cheers!

Just a nobody trying to play Minecraft, but with as many mods as possible.
Dedicated server, CPU 4.0 GHz with 16GB RAM, solid state hard drive and 95/95 Mbps up and down Fiber Optics. Client system matches server specs, with 1.7.10 Minecraft and 305 mods currently in beta. I state this not as much to boast, but for it to be known that it's possible to run with a LOT of mods, even build your own server without renting. I have some experience, so ask me questions.
www.youtube.com/dawhitetyger <--Please do NOT like any videos, they all suck. This is just to show that I am working on a mod pack and nothing more. Crossed that 300 mark, lulz.
You're probably OK - the mod is GPL, so you're free to make changes so long as you publish the modified source code. Also, it'd be nice if you could contribute your changes to the Github repository, so other people's changes can be combined with them.

Agreed- I'll consider your changes once I get a pull request there.

Ditto, I've been trying to get him to upload the source to me or the github for review. I think he is waiting to get a working compile for the last updates he has made before he gives the source. I want nothing more than distribution so all may enjoy, not just us. Thank you so much Iconmaster for this great mod. Will post source as soon as made available.

Say, are there any plans for fluid support? As in tank>pipe>some sort of extractor>AV>whatever you do with AV? Would be far easier to dump my excess lava that way.

If I'm rude to you, just tell me. Don't take it too personally. Well, unless you were being stupid. If you were, DO take it personally.
Would it be possible to add a config option where AEC does not calculate values for blocks/items, and instead just use whatever values that are in the config file?
In a large pack, I'm finding the auto-calc process takes a long time, I'd rather have to manually define the values to gain loading speed.
In the latest version, the Aether Reconstructor no longer repairs Magical Crops infused armor, is this just an incompatibility between the latest versions of the two mods, or just an oversight? Is there a way to fix it? I really liked how the reconstructor could repair almost anything in 1.6.4 versions, but in the 1.7.10 versions, it seems pretty limited to only vanilla items.

I am running my own custom modpack and whenever I try to install AetherCraft and fire up a world, it sends me back to the main screen. This is the error I got when I closed my minecraft instance: http://pastebin.com/AQ4nFBAa

EDIT:
As much as Aethercraft feels like EE2, it is a different beast, and people might want something different then EE2 revived.
Also, advertising on other topics is just...weird.
I'm on the CSM team, but I've retired from Minecraft modding for the most part. I made Cliffie's Goos.
I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.
Instead of going through a bunch of ingots to have the same AE value, just make the oredict of the ingots one value and the rest are changed.
Like "Minecraft:iron_ingot"
For minetweaker, at least, they use "ore:ingotIron" to identify oredict entries, so Im gonna test and see if this works the same way.
If so, Awesome. If not, help. If it isnt even implemented, great.
