I am going to apologize if this is already out the on this post but this is driving me nuts.
MC 1.7.2
ExtraUtils mod
Specifically the Ender Quarry
We want to remove the recipe from our server using this mod and we can't seem get the item name rite (as per the tutorial post at the beginning: "For the 1.7 version wherever you would use the item id, use now the item name (Example: diamond_sword instead of 276)"). Every time I put in what I think the name is, I get the following crash:

So... long and short of it... how can I find out what the name is of the object I want to remove? Do I need to put in "ExtraUtil.TileEntityEnderQuarry" or just "TileEntityEnderQuarry" (if that is even the name of it)?
Thanks for any help... we like a lot of what that mod had to offer but we want to kill off any "free mining" like that as much as we can.

Take this suggestion with a grain of salt, because I haven't tried 1.7.2 at all, but here goes:
At least in 1.6.4, and I hope in 1.7.2, ChickenBones' NEI plugin allows you to dump a list of items, by going inventory screen > Options > Tools > Data Dumps > Blocks/Items. The file will contain all items' IDs (defunct in 1.7.2?) and their internal, unlocalized name. The true name of the Ender Quarry ought to be in there.
...but, did the 1.7.2 experimental build of Extra Utilities remove the ability to enable/disable each of its recipes in its config file? That was possible in its 1.6.4 release. Otherwise, it seems like you're going about this the hard way.
Well, actually that does seem to work, but to get the metadata you need to do the Item Panel and make sure you have it displayed on the right. That will help with some other things we are trying to do as well.
However, my 10yr old son helped me out before I knew this (always just go straight to the expert!). He told me if you hit something with a stick (normal, vanilla stick), it gives you the Block Name, Block ID, and Metadata. And by doing that I got the name and such and I turned it off like we wanted. He'll get a raise in his allowance this week...
Right. Me again... I just want to say how much I adore this mod. We had a goofy conflict between mods where we needed a vanilla item that was replace by a mod item of basically the same name. However, as we could not get both to exist, I just rewrote a recipe to use both objects, even though one doesn't exist, but now it can use the piece that does! Weee... (whoa, too much coffee...)
On another note, is there a way to "erase" one recipe and replace it with another? Right now we have both recipes and one is just impossible so I was wondering if there would be a way to get rid of the one recipe and replace it with another so as not to confuse people.
Thanks man. I like that modders are supporting mod pack creators now. This will give us mod pack creators more flexibility with our packs and we can make them even more unique.

There is no way to disable one recipe and enable another unfortunately. It is a planned feature as soon as I get around updating this mod again I have about 5 other mods I'm working on atm so I try to work on them in cycles.
I'm glad you enjoy the mod though, please keep bringing any questions you might have

Glad you want to use my mod in your pack
That's why I allow my mods to be included in any mod pack. The whole point of forge is so that people can play mods together, I don't understand why some authors forbid mod packs to include their mods (with a few exceptions)

Ah bummer but I assumed as much. And does this mean your other mods like Gany's Nether will be updated to 1.7? Awesomesauce!
I'm glad you enjoy the mod though, please keep bringing any questions you might have
And of course I like this mod. It puts me in control of our server! MWAAHAHAA!!!(*ahem*).... sorry... a little too much there...
What I mean to say is that mods like this allow us to do our own minor modding and now I don't have to learn Java! Keep up the good work.
I would like to add a recipe that uses a bucket of water. After the item is crafted, I want the player to be able to get their empty bucket back. Is it possible to do so with this mod?
I suspect not, but thought I'd ask; is it possible to remove world gen items with this?
For example, ExtrabiomesXL spawns Cattails, ID 2311, which have no practical purpose and thus is needlessly eating a little bit of server memory every time it spawns them. Is there any way I can register that ID number and cause it to not be generated?

It is! Just add the recipe normally with the bucket of water and the player will get the bucket back

It would be a nice feature to have, but I can't think of a way to stop mods from spawning in whatever blocks they want.
this should disable the gear crafting of railcraft (I tested this with a few other recipes (vanilla too...) and nothing seems to work!)
Only thing I got in my console is this, after I try to log into my single player world: http://pastebin.com/4t2QZLCc

As the guy above said, one of the mods you have isn't registering its items/blocks properly. Not much I can do really.
Find out which mod it is and let the author know
In case I am being dim again, and this was asked and I just didn't see it, is there a way to make a recipe work to require a stack/multiple of an item to make something else? We are looking to allow some iron and some gold recovered from standard and powered rails. Basically, 8 standard rails gives you 2 iron, so what we would like to have it a stack of the 8, rather than making a circle (or whatever) with the eight and then getting the iron. Is there a way to indicate a quantity of an item in one "square" of the crafting table, or must we make a "picture" to get the same effect? It's not a big deal; I just want to know if we can. Thanks!

Nope, crafting tables only support recipes with 1 item in each stack.
I'd recommend making a shapeless recipes with the 8 rails
but it doesn't even work with the vanilla diamond sword, why should be there a problem...? And thoses items are just items, so I used the names from NEI itemdump, don't know another way to find out the names of those

So... long and short of it... how can I find out what the name is of the object I want to remove?
On another note, is there a way to "erase" one recipe and replace it with another? Right now we have both recipes and one is just impossible so I was wondering if there would be a way to get rid of the one recipe and replace it with another so as not to confuse people.
And of course I like this mod. It puts me in control of our server! MWAAHAHAA!!!(*ahem*).... sorry... a little too much there...
What I mean to say is that mods like this allow us to do our own minor modding and now I don't have to learn Java! Keep up the good work.
I could make 1 log = 2 planks and 1 plank = 1 stick? :3 hmmmmmmm I like this muhahahhaha
**creates super hardcore pack**
For example, ExtrabiomesXL spawns Cattails, ID 2311, which have no practical purpose and thus is needlessly eating a little bit of server memory every time it spawns them. Is there any way I can register that ID number and cause it to not be generated?
It is! Just add the recipe normally with the bucket of water and the player will get the bucket back
Nope. Not possible, sorry.
It would be a nice feature to have, but I can't think of a way to stop mods from spawning in whatever blocks they want.
Railcraft:part.gear,0
Railcraft:part.gear,1
Railcraft:part.gear,2
this should disable the gear crafting of railcraft (I tested this with a few other recipes (vanilla too...) and nothing seems to work!)
Only thing I got in my console is this, after I try to log into my single player world:

As the guy above said, one of the mods you have isn't registering its items/blocks properly. Not much I can do really.
Find out which mod it is and let the author know
Nope, crafting tables only support recipes with 1 item in each stack.
I'd recommend making a shapeless recipes with the 8 rails
