I haven't seen my Sanity level change even if I stay outside all night.I do get cold and thirsty, though I haven't been deep enough to see if the air thing works. Also, I'm a little confused on how the Temperature gauge works.From what I can gather, the black lines signify the temperature of where I am, and the circle represents my temperature (Though I don't believe I've seen it move. The ball, not the lines.).The hydration one is pretty easy to figure out, even if it seemed to stop before I started taking damage (Unless I was just lucky. BTW, it'd be nice to be able to drink straight from a river, even if it's a really bad idea. I had to frantically make bottles my first night to avoid dying of thirst NVM, apparently I missed the part about drinking by right-clicking.).Idk, maybe I just don't get the Sanity meter, how it represents it and such, and if so, please let me know, but I'm not sure if maybe I've done something wrong, it doesn't work, or something's conflicting.

Set to true and you'll understand what's going on better. Also sanity is mainly for when mining in dark areas and fighting/taking damage form mobs.

Okay, first, this mod is pure awesome, just what I wanted!
But, I can't quite figure out the configs, specifically custom definitions.
I tried adding the firestone from railcraft, which, if you are unaware of what it is is essentially a lava battery.
It can absorb 5000 lava blocks and you can then use it as a fuel source for various things (mainly intended for boilers). It can also be used to start fires like a flint and steel.
Understandably I'd like this to radiate a bit of heat, although not a lot, since the refined firestone (it's final, usable form) is supposed to be stable and contained.
The early forms though are wild and uncontrolled, and actually start fires around you when you have one in your inventory, I'd like these to radiate a lot of heat.
This is what I end up with when using the in-game key to add it and reload a couple of times.
You'll notice that a couple of options appear twice, although with different numbers.
Setting "Enable Temperature" and "Enable Ambient Temperature" to true and setting both "Effect Temperature" and "Ambient Temperature" to 1 (and later 10) does nothing.
Am I doing something wrong, is this a bug or intended behaviour?
Due to the EXCESSIVE number of mods you are using there isn't a clear way of determining exactly which mod is incompatible with EnviroMine. By looking at the report another mod is modifying the byte code of forge and EnviroMine is not liking it (surprised other mods aren't throwing a fit over that). If you can narrow down which Mod is causing it I'll have a second look but for now there is nothing I can do essentially because byte code edits are very difficult to work with without knowing what they are doing.
The other thing that guy mentioned was things like sanity and hydration dropping even when playing in a Creative world. Did that get fixed? I don't use Creative, but I could see it being an annoyance having that info on screen pestering him.
I made a change to falling blocks for the next patch update that allows ores to fall (it also prevents stone cracking into cobblestone)
Well the only major bug I found was the insta-death when logging into a pre-existing game. I guess because values changed between versions it thought I was starving, dehydrated and suffering from hypothermia due to the change in values. After death everything returned to normal but as you can imagine this would be a bad introduction to players upgrading. I'm not sure if it happens when installing Enviromine for the first time and opening a pre-existing world though.
As an aside, so far I'm enjoying the changes and I'll provide feedback as I go. I also appreciate you taking my idea about 'fumbling' tools into consideration and have to agree that accidentally dropping them due to extremely cold hands is an excellent idea! Using beds to restore sanity is also a nice touch and makes them more valuable throughout the game. The air quality factor taking the amount of air blocks around you into consideration is also a better idea than the old implementation so nice move there!
Moving forwards it would be great to see some more core features being added:
- storage containers to keep food hot/cold (fixed and portable types)
- body temperature being raised or lowered by food/drink
- the ability to create hot/chilled water to better manage core temperature
- enviromental humidity (jungles are hot but humid, deserts are hot and dry)
That last one is really the final element needed to really get closer to a real-life enviroment in this mod. At the moment the dehydration appears to be based solely off of temperature and each biomes simply has a temperature applied to it. But someone is far more likely to dehydrate in a hot and dry place than a hot and darp one. Many plants would also thrive in hot and damp places making crop growing easier than in arid biomes.
Glad you're enjoying majority of the changes and as a matter of fact almost all the additions you've mentioned already work like that. Drinks do cool you down (there is a limit though) and food can heat/cool you as well (try cooked meats for example). Water can be chilled by putting snowballs in it. Humidity effects players by slightly increasing the speed of dehydration and cause the biome to drop to near freezing temperatures at night. As for variable plant growth with humidity, that is something that is difficult to do due to the limitations of Forge and editing vanilla code.

I'm tweaking the falloff for heat sources in a patch update because I've found that in some cases it's too sharp (lava is about 50*C from 2 blocks away... not correct). This should fix this problem

I made a minor mistake when removing 'Ambient Hydration' during development and forgot to remove it from the hot key script and replace it with 'Effect Temperature Cap'. I'll get that fixed in the next patch update. Sorry for any inconvenience it caused...

Also also! Any possibility of adding some sort of tool that lets you check the status of an animal? ^^
(Edit: or just letting you right click it with an empty hand and tell you something like "This cow looks very thirsty")

I should also mention there is a minor bug with heat sources not working in the -x and -y directions relative to the player. I'm also fixing those in the patch.

I was thinking of loading all the default armour and items into configs so they could be seen but the shear amount of them would make for a very lengthy process to remove the hard coded defaults also I was focusing more on releasing the mod at the time. If I get time in this patch update I'll move armour to the configs (and possibly items if I have even more time).

No hurry, I'd say focus on getting the update out first, save that stuff for the next one ^^

If you need help with humidity-based crop growth, you could try asking iguana_man about how he does biome-based growth rates in Hunger Overhaul. He's a pretty cool guy, helped me out with things before too.

Holy sheiiiit, this is awesome. Now if other mods could use some sort of API provided by it, and add their stuff like armor or other items to interact with all the hydration, air, etc. here, there would be so much more reality.
You can add those yourself with the config system (there's a key that lets you add objects from in-game easily (J by default)).

But, I can't quite figure out the configs, specifically custom definitions.
I tried adding the firestone from railcraft, which, if you are unaware of what it is is essentially a lava battery.
It can absorb 5000 lava blocks and you can then use it as a fuel source for various things (mainly intended for boilers). It can also be used to start fires like a flint and steel.
Understandably I'd like this to radiate a bit of heat, although not a lot, since the refined firestone (it's final, usable form) is supposed to be stable and contained.
The early forms though are wild and uncontrolled, and actually start fires around you when you have one in your inventory, I'd like these to radiate a lot of heat.
Anyway, on to my issue:
This is what I end up with when using the in-game key to add it and reload a couple of times.
You'll notice that a couple of options appear twice, although with different numbers.
Setting "Enable Temperature" and "Enable Ambient Temperature" to true and setting both "Effect Temperature" and "Ambient Temperature" to 1 (and later 10) does nothing.
Am I doing something wrong, is this a bug or intended behaviour?

Due to the EXCESSIVE number of mods you are using there isn't a clear way of determining exactly which mod is incompatible with EnviroMine. By looking at the report another mod is modifying the byte code of forge and EnviroMine is not liking it (surprised other mods aren't throwing a fit over that). If you can narrow down which Mod is causing it I'll have a second look but for now there is nothing I can do essentially because byte code edits are very difficult to work with without knowing what they are doing.
I made a change to falling blocks for the next patch update that allows ores to fall (it also prevents stone cracking into cobblestone)
Glad you're enjoying majority of the changes and as a matter of fact almost all the additions you've mentioned already work like that. Drinks do cool you down (there is a limit though) and food can heat/cool you as well (try cooked meats for example). Water can be chilled by putting snowballs in it. Humidity effects players by slightly increasing the speed of dehydration and cause the biome to drop to near freezing temperatures at night. As for variable plant growth with humidity, that is something that is difficult to do due to the limitations of Forge and editing vanilla code.
I'm tweaking the falloff for heat sources in a patch update because I've found that in some cases it's too sharp (lava is about 50*C from 2 blocks away... not correct). This should fix this problem
I made a minor mistake when removing 'Ambient Hydration' during development and forgot to remove it from the hot key script and replace it with 'Effect Temperature Cap'. I'll get that fixed in the next patch update. Sorry for any inconvenience it caused...

I was thinking of loading all the default armour and items into configs so they could be seen but the shear amount of them would make for a very lengthy process to remove the hard coded defaults also I was focusing more on releasing the mod at the time. If I get time in this patch update I'll move armour to the configs (and possibly items if I have even more time).
No hurry, I'd say focus on getting the update out first, save that stuff for the next one ^^
