Could you add everything from the BlockPhysics mod? That mod is dead, and the author said anyone was allowed to pick up on it. It had extra features, like shifting sand and dirt.
Okay, this is a great idea. I love it. I am trying to find ways to make minecraft more challenging but still have cool new content, so this fits into my modpack great. I do think you have some work to do though. As of right now, I am not using all the new features, as such, like others, I wish their bars would go away when not being used. Also, a config option for where the bars should be in your HUD would be nice, I have a ton of mods, and while thats unnecessary, its still nice to have options, even if I lost several mods, its still pretty conflicting (Armor Status HUD, Mine & Blade: Battlegear, Ars Magica, Mists of Riov). Lastly, I see that there's config options to add block properties for the different effects. But im not sure what they all do. How do I STOP blocks from being effected ? For instance, its really annoying to have CampCraft's tents to fall apart when you set them up...I mean, its a tent...But having cave-ins in mines is awesome, and having to really think about support in builds, it adds a whole new dynamic to playing that I dont wanna give up. Also, you should listen to that guy and check out block physics mod and really flesh out that whole thing. Dirt/sand type blocks shouldnt stack super high and should fall down slopes, that would be cool. anyways, just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work, I really like this mod even if it sounds like im complaining
I would have mining support blocks made out of a circle of wood planks with an iron nugget or cobblestone in the center.

Before the physics would take place, it would check for the presence of a completed mining support within x# of connected blocks, sitting on stable ground. Placing a mining support would not trigger a physics check on connected blocks (to permit it's construction without dropping the roof on your head).
You could put wooden planks for roof. It's very stable and durable.

Quick bug I found, Not a biggie but irritaiting at the same time.
Blocks changing when they fall
I believe this is a meta data issues, as I keep getting the wrong saplings from the extra biomes trees. But there was a time that a block of coal turned to stone as well. Ill edit this post should I recreate the vanilla block changes (been avoiding it because I want the coal)
the physics system needs some work, that or customizable stability values. As it is you can't even build a proper arch out of stone bricks.
Stone arches are round, An impossibility* in minecraft. With some logs as support though (making the arch 3 thick) you can build some decent arches. I have a bridge that spans 6 "unsupported" blocks, with a total thickness of 4 and 3 in the middle (mix or stone bricks and logs). I could make this 100+ unsupported, but it would be pretty thick on either ends. for my arches (for bridges) it thickness = 3 + (Distance / 2 - 1) / 2. So theoretically 102 span bridge would be 28 thick on the ends. And drops off linearly, so technically no nice circle look.
Edit: Have a design thought of for a nice looking dome (mix of stone brick, logs and glass). But have yet a reason to build it
Kind of makes me wonder if this mod would benefit from adding an extra block which is used for reinforcing overhanging blocks. Sort of like a block with a small set of metal pins at an angle / \ that function like support reinforcements. Obviously the 'pin' blocks themselves would be unaffected by gravity.
I like this idea. Special support blocks, maybe a whole set of them for different purposes, but definitely add a config to blacklist blocks from gravity. Special bridge/arch/butress blocks that make "X" number of blocks in "Z" direction(s) unaffected by gravity and stable would add a fun new elemant to building and mining. There was an idea a few pages back you could incorporate too for some sort of mining supports, where "X" # of blocks around the support are uneffected. That would be cool, also adding another element to the game, forcing you to add support beams every so often in your mines, much like real life.

You can add blocks to the config and set its amount of "hang". Blocks arent effected by gravity but by the number of blocks around it, which is what the valuing in the config for added block most likely is. Though there is an affected and a must fall setting. But you dont need a special block in this mod to make a block resistant to falling, just an extra block from another mod that would suit the purpose.
But I seriously dont think making a block unable to fall is fair, maybe very resistant but unable to you might as well turn physics off.

Why should my CampCraft tent blocks fall ? Like ever ? they are tents...
I should probly mention that the tents cant be deployed unless they are on flat ground that accomodates the appropriate size of each tent, thus only the roof of the tent would EVER be effected, thus my desire for them to not fall. Adding to the annoyance, the tents are a pre-defined shape, to maintain logic and balance, the tents *must* stay in the EXACT same shape block per block or they will not re-pack.
great mod I like it alot and plan on using it in my mod pack but I have a couple suggestions with air oxygen tanks from other mods work so you don't have to care leaves maybe? i don't know something like that lol and maybe a config to turn off the physics. great mod all in all I like it alot

Desert nights are actually really cold, and can get to as low as -6 degrees C
and I think bookshelves, reading books, eating cake and cookies should make your sanity go up as well.
If there is 1.6.2 version USES people much more special, hope to make considerationIf there is 1.6.2 version USES people much more special, hope to make consideration
I think the blocks should be sturdier. as it is, you can't build anything unless you put a ton of pillars or something.
I think crafted blocks(stone bricks, bricks, planks, etc) should be sturdier, and you should be able to use slabs and such to support more blocks.
Sanity should go down a lot slower, and grass, ferns, vines, saplings, and flowers should make your oxygen levels go up too.
You should add sickness as well, different kinds that need different things to cure. Being sick should lower your sanity slowly.
You should add a drink like hot chocolate, tea, etc that raises body temp and sanity as well as thirst

Just a thought, maybe you could add some cross-mod compatibility with ModularPowersuits, by MachineMuse. It could be really interesting if you could add wool to your power armor to keep warm and airconditioners to keep cool. http://machinemuse.net/

I came up with the idea for Mo' Armor, a mod being developed by CORE modders.
Great Mod but can you please make a second download where you can edit the config or just dont have the physics thing on. its cool but you cant have a great treehouse and me and my friend has when we are playing LAN. we would like to have it on but we dont like the physics thing just right now. thanks! PS:
Check the Config file there is an option to turn physics off. Funwayguy and I are currently making updates to the mod, But it takes time. And thanks for the support!

In the config file there is already an option to turn off physics.
Ideas:
Upside-down stone brick stairs can act much like "scaffold" in the effect that the player can make arches to support the structure.
AND YOU SHOULD TOO!

And I think the values in not neccesary, players will know how to estimate over time.
Any way, really love the survival kind mod.
