So the Soup Mod is my first real attempt at getting into Minecraft Modding. I though it would be fun to add some soups to Minecraft. I think this mod can really be handy for those that find it hard to find food at the beginning of the game. It also makes the wooden bowl more useful. Unlike mushroom stew these soups are sipped! Enjoy!
I have a suggestion, how about making soups in a soup pot OR shapeless. basically a soup pot is a cauldron and a wooden spoon
which is crafted with 2 sticks and 1 wooden plank. Basically, this will take about 10 mins. real time, but will TRIPLE your soup output while using the same number of ingrendients. also, make a soup can (5 iron in a cauldron-like pattern) WHich can hold 3 sips of soup instead of 1, not sure if you like these but just a suggestion

Hi iambubba I like your thinking. The recipes are currently shapeless. I definitely think that the cauldron in Minecraft was probably originally meant for so much more then decoration. I think it originally was intended for making potions, but then the concept was replaced by the brewing stand. It would be neat to have a cauldron-like entity that could be filled with water and then add (throw) food items, and draw from it using the bowl.

I honestly think each soup should add an effect to the character.
Thanks for the Mod Review Dartron. For the soup mod I wanted to keep it simple. Just adding new usefulness to the wooden bowl, and creating a few "Survival" soups making se of cactus, seeds, etc.. I have another mod in mind that will add some effects ; )
It took a while to get used to the the changes made to Minecraft and Minecraft Forge in the 1.7.2 release, but I was able to update the Soup Mod for version 1.7.2. Enjoy!
Thanks for letting me know. There seemed to me an issue with the new Forge it was not obfuscating the files properly. I have re-run the build and uploaded the updated file. This should now work.
Hey, your welcome! I will be happy to do reviews on any other mods you have made!

Please ignore the name, I made this account when I was a naive lad.
Compare where you are to where you want to be and you'll get nowhere

Sorry about the inconvenience.
would make it easier to fix id conflicts and mismatches
trying to setup a private server and can't get server and client to sync id's
thanks
