Sorry this is taking so long. For one I've been busy with the holidays. And I was hoping MCP would be out by now, as this would be ALOT easier with MCP.
There will always be that kind of a moment at least once in everyone's life. That moment when your sitting there listening to someone going down memory lane, but really not listening at all.
Having an issue with today's release where rails and torches (still see their flames) disappear when fullbright is activated. Disabled Optifine just to ensure it was not conflicting in any way and got the same result.
*Edit* Actually a lot of entities disappear - signs, minecarts, and glowstone as well.

Looks like this will be an easy fix.
But my computers freaking out so I'll have an update out as soon as possible.
Both singleplayer and multiplayer experience the same issue. Both the L and X keys reload the chunks in my experience (as well as only showing lava and water).
Hm could you maybe add it so that it doesnt make moss stone and cracked stone brick transparent ?
To make it a bit easier to find spawners and strongholds
