I actually have advanced XRay which is only useful for finding ores. I want to find caves, ravines, mob spawners, mineshafts, full bright mode just like the original XRay mod. I have the texture pack but no way to config it, and can't seem to zoom in (OptiFine) with texture pack to see far away.
Until this xray is (eventually) forge/fabric compatible, have you tried the xray glitch where you stand inside a composer & drop sand on top of you, while using a night vision potion?
It is a bit of a pain having to move around & plant/break each time but I guess it's better than nothing
note pretty sure this won't work on 1.12 (composers were introduced in 1.14) but I guess there's something similar for that version (Iirc there was a leaf block involved)
If you did you would see a folder full of Xray mods - & right at the top of that folder is 'Xray-59-1131.jar'
For future reference, Dromar has been naming his version of xray in the form of 'xray-xx-yyyy.jar', where:
'xray': is the name of the mod
'xx': this is a version number/bug fix - if he makes a bug fixed update for a particular minecraft version then this number will increase - otherwise it just increases on the next version released
'yyyy': this is the version of minecraft that the mod is used on
So if you wanted the latest version of xray for mincraft 1.15.2 then you would want xray-69-1152, since xray-68-1152 would've been the first release & probably there was a bug so Dromar released an update
- Un-official, without permission of AO

You CAN drop XRay-58 1.12.2.jar into the forge Mod folder like other mods. So I have no idea why you would use that 63 version that does not work that way.

Agree - however op shows he had v63 so I gave instructions on how to install using the version he already had.
://minecraftxray.net"> Works on all versions of Minecraft from 1.6.4 up to 1.11.Features a configurable xray mode and cave finder, fullbright, configurable coordinates display, survival fly and fly speed.A full list of features can be found on my website: minecraftxray.net
Download
You can download a preview release of the next version that includes support up to 1.12.1 here.
You can download it here. The latest version of XRay is version 47. It was released on November 27th, 2016.
If you want to checkout the latest beta version, it's also available on my website.
How do I install it?
The mod comes with an installer. Simply double click on the downloaded file, and select a profile to install it into. You can select a vanilla profile, a modded profile, a Forge profile, or even a LiteLoader profile! It will also detect Technic mod packs and ATLauncher instances.
Note: if you double click on the installer, and it opens in WinRAR (or similar program), you will need to right click on the downloaded file, and go to Open with ~> Java(TM) Platform SE binary. If that option is not available you may need to install or reinstall Java.
Manual Installation:
Forge & LiteLoader
You can manually install it with Forge by placing the downloaded file into your mods folder - just like you would do to install any other Forge mod.
LiteLoader is the same as Forge except you must place it into a versioned mods folder.
(e.g. .minecraft/mods/1.8.1/XRay.jar).
Technic
Navigate to .technic\modpacks\[modpack name]\mods where [modpack name] is the name of the modpack you want to install XRay into, and place the downloaded file into this folder just as you would do a Forge mod.
ATLauncher
Place the downloaded file into ATLauncher\Instances\[instance name]\mods where [instance name] is the name of the instance you want to install XRay into.
If you run into a compatibility issue with something, let me know so I can find a way to make it work!
How do I change what blocks are visible?
All configuration is done through the user interface. The default keybinding to open the user interface is J, which you can change in-game if needed.
It turns out that getting a complete list of all blocks in the game, especially when third party mods are involved, is a bit difficult. XRay will prepopulate the list with some blocks it can easily detect, however, some may still be missing. To address this problem, XRay will add the missing blocks to the list as it filters them when XRay is enabled.
It is very simple: I am not responsible with what you do with my mod.
Copyright
You may distribute my mod with the original links, and only the original links, on any website or forum you wish. You may not download and then re-upload my mod to any site without my written permission. If you feature my mod in a video, you must include a link back to this page.
If you're going to link to my mod from somewhere, I would really prefer it if you linked to this post rather than directly to the download. This way the user can download an updated version and read about the mod a little bit.
I love this mod and have used it for years. Thanks to everyone who has kept it alive. I find I use the coordinates display more than anything else. Is there a way to add the tool durability of the current tool I'm holding?
I too love this mod and have used it for about 6 years now .. I have also been tweeking a 1.12 world I created 2 years ago
Suddenly, this morning, my XRay-58 wouldn't load.. I looked in my Mods folder and it had been renamed "XRay_Modv58_Modded__1.12.2".. As of yesterday, and the previous 2 years, it has worked fine.. I don't know when it was renamed because I play just about every day
I have spent all day reading this thread to find out that the authors have changed and there are newer versions and downloading them into my Mods folder trying to get one to work.. None of these will even load
These are the versions I have tried (one at a time of course) and they don't even show up in my Mods list from the Mods screen in Minecraft
BTW I have been using the latest Forge 1.12.2-forge-14.23.5.2855 since it's update 1 year ago
PLEASE help me
UPDATE: So I re-installed Minecraft and it crashed.. Here is the Crash Log:
I too love this mod and have used it for about 6 years now .. I have also been tweeking a 1.12 world I created 2 years ago
Suddenly, this morning, my XRay-58 wouldn't load.. I looked in my Mods folder and it had been renamed "XRay_Modv58_Modded__1.12.2".. As of yesterday, and the previous 2 years, it has worked fine.. I don't know when it was renamed because I play just about every day
Please tell me what's happening.. I've been playing for literally years with the same mods and had no trouble
Can't explain why mod was renamed especially if you didn't do it yourself, & I hope all those 'xrays' in your screen shot are not all in the same Mod folder as that might causes conflicts.
What I can say though is that 'technically' there was never an official 1.12.2 Xray released either by the original developer OR by the current developer.
There were a LOT of 'Hacked' 1.12 versions that other people did that made it work (sort of) with 1.12.2
(I think the OP did release a BETA 1.12.1 b4 giving up & I think this was called xray-v57) but most links to those are now lost on this Forum
Any Mod less than v57 are for older Minecraft versions & probably will never work correctly with 1.12.2 so pointless even trying them
Over on the 'official/unoffical' (?!?) Discord channel, us helpers have found a couple of the modified 1.12.2 Xrays mods that do seem to work - although it seems to be a bit hit-&-miss.. Some people claims one or the other don't work however I've tried both as 'drag-&-drop' into mod folder (using forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2855) & they work for me - mind you I'm still on Windows 8.1 but as you see in the attached picture I'm using same Forge & Java as you
Below are the links to these versions taken from the Discord channel - try each of these & see if any works, it might be your original 1.12.2 xray got corrupted somehow
On a Side note, .. I know you are not running 1.16.x but.....
There is apparently an Xray found on the Curseforge site called 'fasray' which claims to be Forge compatible for v 1.16.x but I thought it will be best to post here to warn everyone that this is NOT forge compatible & someone has taken the existing developers mod & reposted it as their own.
This so called 'developer' will not be able to help you with any problems you may have with 'fasray'
I actually have advanced XRay which is only useful for finding ores. I want to find caves, ravines, mob spawners, mineshafts, full bright mode just like the original XRay mod. I have the texture pack but no way to config it, and can't seem to zoom in (OptiFine) with texture pack to see far away.

note pretty sure this won't work on 1.12 (composers were introduced in 1.14) but I guess there's something similar for that version (Iirc there was a leaf block involved)
is there a new version for 1.16.4?
I have not tried that. I can look up a tutorial on that. I'm playing on 1.16.4.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tagdj2twwrmhfhr/xray-72-1164.jar/file
Dromar (the current developer) has a Mediafire folder that contains all the version he's updated at http://www.mediafire.com/folder/5v6x64zl4irqq/xray in case you want an older version
Does anyone know if it is for 1.13.1 if so, can you pass the file to me?
No need to SHOUT !!!!
FYI - if you looked at my post above yours you'll see I said
Did you click the link ??

DUDE, NEXT TIME USE A SPOILER
I haven't played in a while, but I don't think any of the post AmbientOcclusion versions are directly forge compatible.
Since you're using MultiMC all you have to do is add a json file and put the xray.jar in your instance's libraries folder.
Move a copy of the XRay-Mod-v63-1122.jar file into
E:/Game/MultiMC/instances/1.12.2dddd/libraries
Use "add empty" in the version tab of the instance console window to create a json file and paste
If I missed anything and don't respond thenceforth you may be able to find help from older posts as that's how I got mine setup.
@we1chun: Am I right you are trying to ask how to install Xray 1.12.2 into MultiMC ??
If so - you CAN'T drop XRay-Mod-v63-1122.jar into the forge Mod folder like other mods.
I'll try & include a step-by-step here
1. Open MultiMC & click on 'Add Instance'
2. Change the 'Name' (eg '1.12.2 Xray') & Select version 1.12.2, then click [OK]
3. Click on [Edit Instance] on the right
4. Click on 'Version' (2nd option down on the left) in the new Console window that pops up, then click on [Install Forge] on the right hand side
Select the 'Starred' Forge version & click OK
5. [Launch] the game (this allows all necessary files to get downloaded & make sure Forge is installed correctly)
Quit Minecraft
6. In the Console window, select the 'version' option again & it should show LWJGL2 / Minecraft & Forge entries
7. Click on [Add Empty] option on the right & type in 'xray' into both boxes ('Name' & 'uid') - then click [OK]
Highlight the new 'xray' entry & click on [Edit] on the right - this 'should' open up the file in your default TXT editor (eg notepad)
Delete everything in this file & replace it with the following and SAVE it
{"+tweakers": [
"net.minecraftxray.loader.XRayTweaker"
],
"formatVersion": 1,
"libraries": [
{
"name": "net.minecraft:launchwrapper:1.12"
},
{
"MMC-filename": "XRay-Mod-v63-1122.jar",
"MMC-hint": "local",
"name": "net.minecraftxray:xray:63-1122"
}
],
"mainClass": "net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch",
"name": "XRay",
"requires": [
{
"equals": "1.12.2",
"uid": "net.minecraft"
}
],
"uid": "Xray",
"version": "v63-1122"
}
8. Close notepad & MultiMC console window, so you get back to MultiMC main window
9. With your instance still highlighted Click on 'Instance folder'
- in the window that pops up make a new folder called 'libraries', open this & copy the 'XRay-Mod-v63-1122.jar' file into this folder
10. Go back to MultiMC main window & Launch the game & look at minecraft [options] / [controls]
If an xray section shows up then it's installed correctly - you may find there's a couple of key conflicts
If it DOESN'T show up - close the game & restart & if everything went well the new xray control section will appear
11. Drag/Drop your other mods into the normal mod folder
You CAN drop XRay-58 1.12.2.jar into the forge Mod folder like other mods. So I have no idea why you would use that 63 version that does not work that way.

Agree - however op shows he had v63 so I gave instructions on how to install using the version he already had.
Didn't think of suggesting V58 instead
not sure if this matters but THIS caught my eye:
C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Oracle/Java/javapath/javaw.exe
perhaps try the X64 version of java too.

Please tell me what's happening.. I've been playing for literally years with the same mods and had no trouble
can i see the video?
