Regardless, as long as you don't need to use the --NoXrayGui 'fix' you can add any block to the xray by opening the GUI by pressing 'j' (default key) & selecting it from the list that pops up...
IF the block doesn't actually show in the list it's because you've not actually 'seen' it so you may need to toggle xray on/off or go into a creative world > give yourself the required block & place it down - then activate the GUI

On the subject ot adding blocks and things Is it possible to add them manually in the files in the minecraft /xray folder? (Just a thought) I couldn't remember if there was a .txt or .ini file to edit...

It is possible to add them to the config file, which is called 'XRayDLB3.JSON', found in '.minecraft/config' folder.
However you need to do a little bit of reformatting - the JSON file is a plain text file & can be opened up using virtually any type of TXT editor
When you open the file (using notepad for example) you will end up with one VERY long line making it difficult to find the block you required
This is just an example of the line: (note this is a VERY short example.. the more blocks xray has 'seen' the longer it would be)
This way you can clearly see the block & it's flag.. just need to change 'true' to 'false' (or visa versa)
You can also add new blocks that are not listed.. for example - in the example above I could easily add "block.minecraft.diamond_ore":True (Use Minecraft Wiki to find the name of certain blocks)
If you don't use Notepad++ then there are online sites that can reformat JSON file (just search for online JSON formatter) for you

Perfect, Thank you very much
I was considering when I get my PC back up and running making a complete list of blocks and uploading it for others to use if that was possible It might save a few people going mad trying to check and uncheck blocks in the list that haven't been discovered yet if that makes sense.
I cant open the xray file with java, it just opens really quick in a command prompt then closes immediately. Anybody know what to do?
Sounds like your Java is either not installed properly OR it's not associated to open JAR files.
There's a FAQ on the Discord server that might help
Here's a copy of it - give it a try & see if it helps
Q: I'm trying to run my .jar file, but nothing happens, or a window pops up then suddenly disappears. (Also for fixing .jar file association)
A: Firstly, you will want to make sure you are trying to open your .jar file with javaw.exe . To do this, follow these steps:
Right-click your file that you are trying to run and select "Properties"
A window should pop open with some tabs and details. There will be a section near the top that contains the phrase "Opens with:"
Click the "Change..." button. There will be a list with a lot of apps, or a few. Either way click on the "More apps" text. A list should drop down.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on the "Look for another app on this PC" text.
Your Windows Explorer (Files Page) should open up on the default page of ThisPC/C:/ProgramFiles
In this list there should be a file named Java, open it.
There should be a listing of one or more java versions, select latest version of java and open it (It should be the biggest number).
From there open the "bin" folder.
There should be a listing of a few folders and a lot of applications. Navigate until you find the file named "javaw.exe"
Either double click on it, or highlight it then press the "open" button.
If this solved your issue then yay, if not, you may need to fix your java registry
Luckily for you, there is an easy way to do this thanks to a man named Johann N. Löfflmann.
He created an app that can fix java executables not opening called jarfix.
This website will take you to his app that fixes this issue: https://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
Click on the "downloads" tab on his webpage and download the latest version of jarfix
Once downloaded, right click on the file and run it as administrator
When prompted by your PC, select YES
The process can take anywhere between 1 to 90 seconds
Once done you will receive a prompt whether or not the issue was resolved (hopefully resolved)
Try running your .jar file again
It should work
Hello, I'd like to ask you one question. Why can I not install it on profile with Fabric, does something prevents it? I tried to play with the profile's dependencies and nothing seemed to work. Is there any solution?

Currently this mod is not compatible with any Mod loader - this means it won't work with Forge, Fabric or Rift
The current developer (not the original) has said that he's looking into it..
Afaik the current developer is working on a decompiled version of the original mod & not with the original source code (original developer has never released it) which probably means it's difficult to work out which parts are xray coding & which are modloader.
Since Minecraft 1.12 mojang changed a lot of code which caused the Forge developers to rewrite their modloading code which I believes differs a lot from the original coding used in this mod..
So - & this is all speculation on my behalf - Dromar has not only has to figure out which parts are forge old loading code, then he has to find out how the new forge loading code works, then has to rewrite the code in mod to make this mod forge compatible.. IMHO that's a lot of work
EDIT: out of curiosity I googled about decompiling & found this link that shows a very simple source listing & a decompile version.. If you look you can definitely see there are differences between the two
Since there are several 'classes' (listings) in the xray mod, that need decompiling, looked at to figure out the coding (which is different from the actual source code) & then trying to figure out how each 'talks' to the other - it should be noticeable that this is no easy task
I also suspect that Dromer isn't a professional programmer & can only work on the mod in his spare time
Hello. This is my first time using this mod and I opened the gui however I do not see any blocks to check or uncheck? How do I resolve this???
On the Discord channel you will find this in the #FAQ section
Q: I've installed xray but certain blocks/no blocks show up when I open the GUI
A: Press 'x' to activate xray mode then open the gui sometimes cures the problem, otherwise close to game & restart it.
Xray also only shows blocks that it has currently 'seen', so if a particular block is not on the list try crafting it or placing the block down so that xray can add it to the list
I find the best way to get it fully filled is to load in a resource map (a map that shows all the blocks in the game usually used for checking resource pack graphics) & then using Xray as mentioned above

You could just 'search' for the block you want to change the show/no show flag to but I find it easier to get the JSON reformatted.
If you use Notepad++ there's a plugin you can install that can format the file - called 'JSTOOL'.
Clicking on 'Plugins' > 'JSTOOL' > 'JSFORMAT' will format the text so it would look like
"profiles": {
"XRay": {
"render": true,
"blocks": {}
},
"Cave Finder": {
"render": false,
"blocks": {
"block.minecraft.lava": true,
"block.minecraft.netherrack": true,
"block.minecraft.chest": true,
"block.minecraft.torch": true,
"block.minecraft.stone": true
}
}
},
"localization": {},
"coordinates": "$d{FPS}\n$aXYZ: {X} / {Y} / {Z}\n$c{Fly}",
"xrayEnabled": true,
"coordsEnabled": true,
"useAlternativeFly": false
}
