Hello by anychance are their x rays mods for Fabric?
Yasss! I totally agree! Please, can someone jump on a port for Fabric? There are bits and pieces of the features in this mod out there on curseforge but nothing fills it just right like this did.
@cannonfoddr when i double click the jar file, it opens as a folder and not an executable
there's no "open with" to select java runtime environment, no matter what I do I can't get the installer to launch
am i doing something wrong when unzipping it maybe? i'm using 7zip's "extract to (file name)" feature to extract xray-67-1144.jar.zip
please help
You shouldn't need to unzip the file. It sounds like you don't have Java set up to run jar files.
Here is a copy from the Discord FAQ section that was posted which may help get Java to run the file
Q: I'm trying to run my .jar file, but nothing happens, or a window pops up then suddenly disappears.
A: Firstly, you will want to make sure you are trying to open your .jar file with javaw.exe . To do this, follow these steps:
Right-click your file that you are trying to run and select "Properties"
A window should pop open with some tabs and details. There will be a section near the top that contains the phrase "Opens with:"
Click the "Change..." button. There will be a list with a lot of apps, or a few. Either way click on the "More apps" text. A list should drop down.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on the "Look for another app on this PC" text.
Your Windows Explorer (Files Page) should open up on the default page of ThisPC/C:/ProgramFiles
In this list there should be a file named Java, open it.
There should be a listing of one or more java versions, select latest version of java and open it (It should be the biggest number).
From there open the "bin" folder.
There should be a listing of a few folders and a lot of applications. Navigate until you find the file named "javaw.exe"
Either double click on it, or highlight it then press the "open" button.
If this solved your issue then yay, if not, you may need to fix your java registry
Luckily for you, there is an easy way to do this thanks to a man named Johann N. Löfflmann.
He created an app that can fix java executables not opening called jarfix.
This website will take you to his app that fixes this issue: https://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
Click on the "downloads" tab on his webpage and download the latest version of jarfix
Once downloaded, right click on the file and run it as administrator
When prompted by your PC, select YES
The process can take anywhere between 1 to 90 seconds
Once done you will receive a prompt whether or not the issue was resolved (hopefully resolved)
Try running your .jar file again
It should work
Not sure HOW this one file is classed as a 'zip' and not a 'jar' unless when you downloaded it you ended up with a 'xray.jar.zip' file instead of a 'xray.jar'
(some web browsers seem to do this for some perculiar reason) but your PC not showing the 'zip' part on the end
MAYBE Explorer has got it's 'Hide extensions for known file types' selected ??
This would make you think you have a jar but in fact you have a zip so that when you double click it your Zip program tries to unzip it
Can you please help me teach how to locate the JSO file on my MAC? im having keyboard issues and i dont know how to locate the FILE so i can change it like you posted. Much appreciated thank you so much

Can I assume that your PM to me is the same as this post ?(I got an notification but can't read it)...I also assume you meant 'JSON' & not 'JSO'
...Don't know about any1 else but I have trouble reading these when clicking on the Mail icon on the website - it faults out for some reason despite whichever browser I use. Apparently 'Staff' knows of this problem since there's a post on the forums that says:
This is a known issue and unfortunately we don't have a fix at this time. The issue is that, "randomly", some members receive an error when trying to access their inbox. The development team are aware and it will be resolved as soon as possible.
Anyway, Firstly I have never used a MAC so have no way of knowing how different it is to a Windows OS..
If you are using the vanilla official Minecraft launcher, I can tell you is that the JSON file is located in a folder within your '/.minecraft/versions/' folder
- it would probably be inside a folder called '1.14.4-XRay' & is called '1.14.4-XRay.json'
To find the '/.minecraft/ folder on Windows (I use Win 8.1 so Win 10 may be different) we would usually do:
> Right-Click on 'Windows' Icon on takbar
> Left-Click 'Run'
> Type in the box '%appdata%'
> Press [Return] & an explorer window would show up with '.minecraft' folder showing
According to the Minecraft Wiki to find your minecraft folder on a mac
If you're a Mac user, you can open the folder through Spotlight:
Press ⌘ Command+Space or open the Spotlight popup through the magnifying glass icon in the right of the Menu Bar.
Type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and hit ↵ Enter.
On Linux or macOS, the ~ in the path refers to the home directory. Folders starting with a . are hidden by default. In most file managers, hitting Ctrl + H toggles their hidden status.
If this works then I would guess you will see either a folder called 'minecraft' that you can open
OR
You end up inside the 'minecraft' folder & should see other folders - one of which should be 'versions' - this you then open, find the folder for the Xray version you've installed > open that & then you will see the 'xray-1.14.4.json' file
Open that file up in an editor that accepts normal 'txt' files - a JSON file is nothing more that a standard txt file (In windows this is called 'notepad', but I use 3rd party program called 'notepad++' as it has more features) - then you can edit the file to include the '--noxraygui' (which I assume is what you are trying to do) so that it looks like this
One thing to note however that if you use the --noXrayGui' trick then you won't be able to open the interface that allows you to select which blocks to show/not show.
If there are any blocks you what to change you would need to manually edit the config file for Xray which would be found in the '/.minecraft/config/' folder called 'XRayDLB3.json'.
There is a 'small' problem though - If you try opening the config in your 'txt' editor you end up with 1 VERY long line that starts with something like '{"profiles":{"XRay":{"render":true,"blocks":{............'
so the best thing to do would be to copy/paste the file into a json formatter website to reformat it into something more readable that end up something like below.
CDownload or Copy/paste the result into your txt editor & then just search for the block in question (If not there add it to the list) & change the true/false - save it into the config folder (backup the exiting xray config for safety) & hopefully you should be good to go
Trying to download by the AdFly link keeps saying it cannot be found or the page has been moved? Is there a problem with the link?
I assume you're trying the link(s) on first post ??
If so - the reason they don't work is because the original developer has stopped supporting the mod since around mc v 1.12
- it's not all bad news however..
Another person has continued 'unofficial' development of the mod (Dromar) & he has a link to a medifire folder that contain all the versions he has developed. You can find all the versions here
Note that where the original developer version(s) worked with other mod loaders (forge etc) the current versions don't - probably due to how the new minecraft launcher works or something.. but rumors have it that Dromar is looking into trying to make this mod compatible
Hello everyone, I recently played minecraft again and I wanted to install the xray, all good, but ... on a server they made me an SS, of course I could hide everything or related to the xray files, but something is still missing, it turns out that if during the SS the staff check the "config" folder they will see a file called "Xray.json", I planned to edit the line of code that determines that file is called "Xray" and change it to something else, I totally doubt that there is some staff that will check if he does not understand anything the file says, the problem is that it has the name of the Mod itself, there is some way to edit the way the name of this file is determined without interrupting the operation of the mod? This is more a question of hiding evidence of the mod for Staffs who do not know how to search thoroughly, anyway, they banned me 8 days to find mods from another version in which I play the Single-Player, something sillybut it is seen that the staff wanted to ban me for any reason, but it would have been a permaban if they found evidence of xray in the version I had to play on the server.
So there is a way to change the name of this "Xrat.json" to maybe "ForgeLag_fix.json?
also in the keybind options i can hide the names of the keys but it still with names like "Xray Gui" "Cave finder" "Xray" in the .json file, i need to change this names from the Code of the mod but, i don't know how, it's possible?[/pre]

XRay is not intended as a cheat tool.
As such, it is extremely discouraged to use it on a server where this is against the rules and on most public servers it is.
Don't expect to get any help on this forum on cheating practices, because last I checked, this is against the forum rules.

Yes there is ...in 7 'easy' steps..
> Learn how to program in Java
> Disassemble the existing Xray mod to get the source code
> Examine the code to figure out how the mod references the Config file
> Re-program the source code to change the name for the config file
> Re-compile the source code
> Install the new Mod
> Spend time debugging the fault that may occur
That's the only way you'll get someone to modify a cheat mod so that it doesn't get discovered when playing online servers
IF you happen to be staff on a server then why would you want xray.. The only reason I can think of is to spy on other possible cheaters & see if they're mining towards ores, but if that's the case I would've suspect the Admin would have a staff plugin that allows gamemode spectator or something like that & give you the perms to use it

I actually start learning Java because of this, i'm just starting to understand the code, i just ask because i think someone do it before, ethic codes in minecraft modders comunnity are some times out of place, how someone use a credit card to get high tier materials and is not cosidered some kind of cheat.
I just thought to match the balance, if it is no possible then i gonna stop using Xray, and also will ask if i can help to catch some other cheaters.

As Admin I like using Xray for redstone and other custom templates. I also like the fly function with the key bound speed adjustments and the watered down debug info.
how do i set a keybind for fly?
Have you tried looking under [Options], followed by [Controls] then scrolling down until you get to the Xray control section
