I did a build of the 1.9.4 version and it works rather well. An issue with armor having the 'missing texture' texture did pop up, but I have a lot of mods and it could be any one of them causing that.
I am using 1.10.2, and this works perfectly fine with it.
I didn't have as much luck running the 1.9.4 dev version in my 1.10.2 pack (haven't reported any bugs though, figure i'll wait for a proper 1.10 version).
Hope this mod is still gonna get some dev love, would be a shame if not :/
Edit: Did get it to build, was just some stuff on my side.
I'm sorry, but sadly I have to agree.
I will have to try out this mod, because it just look sooo cool.
RIP my time.
@Zsashas, thank you for guiding me here. :')
I don't know if this mod is currently being worked on, and I know it has been suggested before in one way or another, but a config option to show a minimap in a corner of your screen if an atlas is on your hotbar would be nice.
That's the default option for that Overlay addon, actually. It shows the minimap if you're holding an atlas. So much easier to use without having to keep opening my atlas.

I found some free time to work on this mod once again. Meanwhile, Kenkron implemented his Overlay into the 1.9.4 pre-release of the mod. Check it out on a screenshot below.
I think it fits pretty nicely. Maybe we'll change the textures a bit and iron out a couple bugs (yeah, that one, Zsashas). It was originally Kenkron's separate mod, and now it's merged into Antique Atlas. Personally, I like the idea. What are you guys' thoughts? Especially those of you who have tried it in game. Please vote in that poll above, or leave comment.

Good news, Hunterif! I really like your mod!
I have some questions: What's about 1.7.10 support? Can you backport fixes and Overlay? Many servers stack on this version, because Cauldron don't recieve updates.
And can you add own compass implementation, with custom arrow, which can point to selected marker (i have own realisation with vanilla compass, bukkit plugin (custom packets used for communication) and little code contribution to your mod). Players really like that feature.
Sorry me my english, i'm not native speaker.
Ah you know what, yes it probably does, i didn't see there was already an update that included the minimap. I think i was using a version i compiled a long tiem ago and though it was under 1.10.2 on curse, so it was never showing any "new update", derp!
Hi there, I dunno if someone already asked this, but I have a colored atlas (I dunno if this is an overlay, since I use it on a litw server that updates automatically) but I'd like to know how dark oak wood bioms look like. I found one but I missed to label it, now I'm searching for it like an idiot and can't find it anymore. Since it's kinda easy to spot the bioms with the colored atlas you may see the dark oak wood biom as well? If yes can someone pls tell me how it looks like on the atlas?
I had an idea for this mod that would be really helpful. I like to lay long minecart tracks across the surface using Railcraft locomotives to move cargo, and I think it would be awesome if this mod was able to display routes. Perhaps, in each chunk it could check to see if there was a track there and if there was one in an adjacent chunk, draw a track between them. That would make keeping track of rail lines really easy

For the poll:
Probably others told this, but if not: there is Antique Atlas Overlay mod.

So, I couldn't find it in this thread anywhere, but could someone post instructions for how to add the extra custom icons? Be as detailed as you like.

Although the overlay really should disappear when the actual atlas is open...

I made Moses Mod, Dota 2 Items Mod, Rings of Power and Antique Atlas.

Yes, I do intend to backport all changes to 1.7.10 and 1.8.9.
The compass idea sounds a bit too artificial.
I made Moses Mod, Dota 2 Items Mod, Rings of Power and Antique Atlas.
We're on 1.7.10, too.
Is it possible to set global markers on SMP for all players?
That would be awesome!
Heyo,
just curious if the 1.10.2 version with the minimap was already uploaded somewhere or is there a dev version to try out?
Thanks,
SC

At first I thought the minimap was a cool idea. But now I'm beginning to loathe it. Is there a key to turn it off?
Heya,
just out of curiosity, any plans on updating it to 1.11.2?
Cheers,
SC

Anyone have an alternate link for the coloured biomes pack in the OP, or are able to upload their copy of it? Link has 404'd
Does somebody got this work an 1.10.2?
The mod loads fine and the atlas could be used but it does not render / update the map correctly.

Yeah, I'd love to see this updated to 1.11.2 as well, but understand if it's not.
It was always my favorite mapping mod back in 1.7.10.
