Looking for some help. I wanted to add quarried blocks to the items to be mined. I figured it was as simple as adding the item id to the blocklist.pickaxe. However I save the fine, start up minecraft and then it doesnt work. I go back to the file I just changed and find out all changes made to blocklist.pickaxe have been removed. Adding different items to count as pickaxes/axes stick(Aka ruby axe, etc) but I cant add blocks to be veinmined outside of what is already there.

whenever I use veinminer, my world starts to have lag spikes then crash. I'm watching CPU and RAM, they arnt being overworked. is this a common problem? I have the newest veinminer.
So it works for me, I can use Veinminer my self on my server, but how do I give others permission to use it?
It's very nice to have and I'd love for everybody on my server to have access to it or even just the VIPs. But I don't know how to give permission to people. Thanks!

Players can either use the client side mod, or use the /veinminer command themselves to enable it for them.
Hey, This mod is installed in FTB Monster Pack but I just Can't get it to work! I know Monster is a WIP Pack and always changing but it physically won't work, I've tried rebinding but I can't even use /veinminer to bring anything up, is there something I'm doing wrong?
The mod is not installed in FTB monster, a config file is provided but not the mod itself (as far as I am aware). The absence of the command suggests it is not installed.
PortableJim, is it easy for someone to add a new category of tool to VeinMiner?
I was playing around with Ex Nihilo - The Skyblock Companion mod and would like to add the Hammer to VeinMiner... unfortunately it doesn't fit into any of the standard tool classes, because it breaks shovel and pick items, and possibly axe items.
I could probably kludge around this by adding a few more things to the block list, and having the hammers on multiple tool lists at once... but that seems silly, and I'm not sure it would even work.

As a user no, the categories are fixed.
As a modder adding the new tool in portablejim.veinminer.api.ToolType and a config file line in portablejim.veinminer.configuration.ConfigurationValues (around line 98).That willl get it working, just the commands won't work (and in 1.7 it won't have a button in the config GUI).
I just tried bacons new skyfactory and wanted to add veinminer into it. I used the original jar and the new skyfactory one you added recently. When I try to use veinminer in game it does nothing on both jars and acts just like a normal axe. All the ids are config and I set /veinminer mode sneak, along with /saveconfig. I was just wondering if anyone has gotten it to work or did I derp somewhere along the line.

I fixed it up. Re-download it, more stuff should work. Also, grab Veinminer Mod Support 0.5.1 that includes support for the hammer.
Hey I absolutely love this mod but I have a probably really stupid question....
I know how to add blocks to certain tools, like stone to a pickaxe for example, but is there anyway to do this that is less tedious than typing it in the game over and over?
I know you said to edit the .cfg file, but I'm not sure how to get to it. I'm new to modding and editing and stuff so if you could help me out that would be great.

Well there is '/veinminer saveconfig' that will save what you add via commands to the config file.
Other than that, where the instance of minecraft is installed (you can get that by going opening up the resource pack folder and going to the parent directory), going to the config folder and editing 'VeinMiner.cfg'
Update your version of VeinMiner or downgrade your version of VeinMiner mod support.
Any help?
My fault. Fixed in 0.12.2.
Yes

Just on the server. But you get a better experience if it is installed on the client as well.
So everything is good?

Just on the server. However if players want a better experience (i.e. keybind support), they should install the client.
Players have to run the command "/veinminer mode sneak" (or "/veinminer mode no_sneak") if they don't have the client.
I just tested again and yes, non-ops can still run the command in both the 1.6 and 1.7 version. Which version specifically are you using?
Are you using bukkit and any permission plugins? Maybe that is what is stopping players from running commands.

Thx everything works great now. Keep up the good work!
Have you tested using vanilla tools on vanilla blocks (i.e. vanilla axe on vanilla wood log, vanilla pickaxe on vanilla ore (such as iron))?
